Sarene had been in the dining hall awaiting for the council when she heard the massive explosion and while she attempted to find cover, she shouted to a number of her gaurds and ordered them to check the dungeons where Gabriel was being kept. The fear that Gabriel somehow managed to lure one of the human gaurds to do his bidding was evidant within her and she quickly got to her feet. A group of gaurds came in, their armor shined beneath the moonlight while a loof of concerned formed on their faces. "What's going on?" Sarene asked. "Did you sweep the cells to make sure that he didn't escape?"
Daryl the head command of the gaurd elite spoke. "We did and found that his cell is empty."
Sarene’s face went paler than normal and as she took a breath she spoke with a calm tone, "We need to find him before he gets too far. Take your men and sweep the perimeters and the outskirts of the castle."
Darly bowed, "As you wish your majest." He looked to his men and said "Do as she says. We can't allow him to get fat. "His men and himself rushed our the door with the faces if determined warriors.
A few moments later, the re-opened and in came Marcus, Blake, Nora and Marcus' protégé Emery. She was one human but was fated by the life if eternity through an accident caused by Gabriel’s recklessness. Had Nora and Blake not been there while the accident occured, Gabriel would of gotten to her first.
"Your majesty, Marcus said as he bowed his head. "We came as soon as we heard the explosion, however, we being extra cautious prior to Gabriel’s men and we weren't sure what he had up his sleeves."
"It's better to cautious rather than not. " Sarene assured them. "Gabriel has escaped. I have my men scouting the castle perimeters and the outskirts just in case he hasn't gone to far." Sarene glanced at Emery and smiled. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Likewise, Emery replied with a small smile tipped at the corner of her mouth. "I've heard alot about you."
"I am sure it was under terrible circumstances." Sarene replied solemly. "For that I truly apologize."
Emery raised her hand to stop her. "Your majesty," shaking her head as she spoke. "No need to apologize. None of this was entirely your fault. I wn't judge someone unless I know their side of the story first before ruling out my opinions."
Sarene released Emery's hand and nodded. "I am certain we will be able to get to know one another once all this chaos ends."
Emery brushed strands of her flame red hair off of her forehead and responsed lightly. "I agree. We can't allowe Gabriel to escape and cause anymore damage than he already has."
The ground rumbled again and Marcus was the one that spoke. "What is the plan that you have established? I'm sure that you had your men do search."
"I have but they haven't returned to give a report on his whereabouts." Sarene said. "As for your banishment I would like to say that it has been lifted. You're free to come back to the castle's safety once everything settles or free to go where ever you please if you choose to."
"It's about time," Blake was the one who spoke. "All of us where getting sick and tired of that musty old cabin after being under careful watch of the Remus Pack."
"I will order them to stand down," Sarene said as she smoothed hair behind her ear. Her eyes glew from hunger and in the bottom of her stomach, she felt the it. It gnawed at her like a bug but before she could finsish Nora spoke.
"It's not going to be that easy," she went and stood behind the grand table chair and looked at Sarene. "All of them were tipped off by Gabriel so when they hear that our banishment is lifted who knows what they will do."
"Whatever they plan doing once the news hits," Nora said. "I don't plan on being anywhere near them."
"Let's not allow that to come to it," Sarene said. "Shall we?"
"We should do our own search as well." Emery spoke as if she had a plan but niether of them knew what it could of been. "All of us should start looking."
All of them nodded in agreement and without furhter spoken words, Emery and the others followed her out the door.
"Where would we want to start looking?" Blake had asked me once we left Sarene's Council room. "Gabriel isn't just going to be waiting around for us to catch him." "Given his state of mind at this very moment," Marcus said in return to Blake's comment, "He isn't really the Flash. Moments before the explosion, Sarene had linked me stating that she had drugged him on order to get him in the dungeons. His speed isn't the greatest and what she had given him will last at least a few hours." A few hours isn't going to cut the deadline. Who knows what he has in mind after it wears off." Nora piped in. "We need to find him and end this before he exposes our race of extistence." "I'd rather die than let that ever occur," Marcus replied. "I understand from his perspective that Gabriel wants revenge over an incident that happened centuries ago." Marcus' gaze went to me as he spoke and I felt as though he was trying to tell somethig silently but I didn't know what. I gave him a small shrug and
Emery's P.O.V Nobody said that being a vampire wasn't easy. I thought to myself as I sat on a rock overlooking the lake. My now changed hair which was a flame colored red blew gently in the wind. It was dark and the sun was just setting in the horizon and the stars began peaking behind dark grey clouds. At this hour vampires began to stir. Getting ready for the night ahead of them. I miss being human. I thought as I heard three familiar voices from behind me. I turned and saw Nora, Blake, and Marcus approaching me but I ignored them and continued to stare off into the distance. Nora and Blake were the ones that found me on the highway that night. Injured and on the verge of death. If it wasn't for Marcus...My thoughts trailed off as I snapped back to reality as I sighed. I was grateful to all three of them..but being like this....a vampire that has to have some control...wasn't and was my choice.... I was turned last week. Due to a car accident that just happened. I was headed home
Blake & Nora's P.O.V"What exactly are we doing here?' Nora asked Blake as she sat beside him over looking the road. It was a cold and chilly night and Nora wore a light blue sweatshirt over a tank top and blue jeans that nearly blended in with the night. Her silver hair was tied securely in a ponytail while stranded hung on her forehead. Blake on the other hand, had on a much more lighter attire which made it so that the cold air hit him. It's not like the weather bothersus but me being once human myself, it felt comfortable and right to wear cloths that felt normal.Nora didn't want to dwell on the past and instead took Blake's hand into hers, drawing his attention to her for a brief moment."What's the matter?" He asked and reached to brush strands of those loose hairs off of Nora's forehead then running a finger along her cheek tenderly.Just before Nora could respond. They heard tires scr
Marcus Wilder's P.O.VI sat on the water edge of the lake thatsatbehind my small cabin. The waves rippled with the wind and the sun had begun to set behind the pine trees casting rays on the ground. At this hour vampires were allowed to come out to enjoy it while it set in the horizon, giving them the longing of being human once again. In those moments, however, I too enjoyed it as well. I longed to be able to go out in the sunlight, to run wild like never before and to see some girl that I had feelings for, radiatein the sun but I knew from years pasts that in a way, it would never happen. Humans aged compared to vampires. We never get old. Always staying the same after we turned. It takes centuries for one to tame their instinct to attack anyone with a vein. I, However was entirelydifferent, scientists found a way to make vampires. More so pure bloods and I was one of them. A genuspig for their tests. Of course I don't remember much of
Emery & Marcus' P.O.VI regained conscious enough to open my eyes weakly and noticed that i was no longer in the wreckage. I still heard the same familiar voices that had gotten me out of there instead of leaving me there to die. "Where....." I heard my own voice, raspy and raw from thirst. I saw the girl with the silver like hair turn and then look at the man standing on the opposite side of the room, slowly I turned my head carefully so that I wouldn't cause any dizziness, to look at the man standing next to me. I wasn't in the hospital like I thought I would be but took in what my vision could see. Wooden walls, a side table that had flowers on the top, and the feeling of being on a table which felt metal beneath my fingertips."Don't move," I heard the mans voice say in a demanding tone. I was too weak to argue. "You were hurt pretty badly in the crash." He pointed out as he directed my attention to the pole that stuck out of my side. Oddly
Marcus’ P.O.VI felt the leap of my heart in my chest. Emery was a very strong woman who wanted another shot at living, only from a different perspective that our kind provided. The only difference was the overwhelming crave for blood that every fledgling went through in their first three years of turning. Many beforehand learned how to tame it with proper training and skills. Since I was created into being a purebred, I learned quickly to tamper mine. Emery however was willing to go the lengths to have another life outside of being human. Apart of myself was going to explain that this life was different compared to her mundane life at some point but until then she was going to have to adjust and learn.“We don’t have much time before heading to our sleeping chambers.” Blake snapped me out of my thoughts and I shook my head to clear it. “The quicker the better.” He added with a slight tone of amusement. His hair shimmered
With Emery’s consent I put enough force behind my bite to pierce her flesh. I felt her wince but she knew that this needed to be done. Her blood filled my mouth and to be honest with myself it tasted oddly good. It was sweet and slightly coppery but it was the essence of all our kind in order to continue living. When I was forced into this existence, I swore to myself that I would only hunt on animals and back then I was part of a clan that knew only power and hatred. When one of the members turned a human without their consent, they pointed fingers at me and my friends for the blame. In turn the leader banned us to never return. I closed my eyes to distract myself from the past and swore I saw Emery’s memories. Her as a little girl, twirling around in a Cinderella dress for Halloween. Her as a teen, making plans for college in high school and what she wanted to be when she was finished. I held back a slight chuckle at the thought of her being a Disney princess for
One Month Later….My red hair which was brown a month ago swayed in the breeze. The crisp air was strong in my nostrils . My newfound life was not like it used to be. Before I was human and had a shorter life span than I do now. Why was it so different? I looked back at the moment that Marcus’ blood had changed me. I was trapped in my head for the longest time, remembering what I had suppressed when I was six years old. I’ve been a vampire for over a month and I still didn’t understand how everything works. My hearing, my eyesight, and even the simple thing as speed. Marcus was teaching me how to tame the crave for blood but every now and then I found it complicated to focus on small tasks like I had before the crash. It was a headache and I had promised to try harder to control the urges that always seems to want to consume me.“It will take time and practice before your able to fully control the blood lust that our kind has.
