The Meeting

Savannah's POV:

As I tried to wrench open my eyelids which were suddenly too heavy, I had to screw them shut when a bright light shine directly into my sight, causing a searing pain to wreck across my head.

I waited a second before prying them open again.

The grey curtains danced as a cool breeze wafted through the open windows.

I realized it was the lamp in the room that was bright and outside, was fast turning dark.

What? The last time I was conscious… it was morning and I was in Ryker's room.

The thought of being in Ryker's room sent a frisson of alarm down my spine.

I wondered where I was, trying hard to recall the memories of what had happened that rendered me incompetent and in a debilitated state. As I became more and more conscious, a fresh wave of pain that had been biting at my drowsiness now seeped in and I realized every inch of my body was in agony.

Flashes of memory perused my mind.

Seeing Reginald and his mistress. Then I argued with him.

I could remember him
