Indeed, reality had proven to be far more terrifying than expectations and ones’ own imagination. Maybe she too had underestimated the situation; there was no time to reason, reduce the impact or to create another distraction… it was happening right now whether or not they were truly prepared for the consequences.

Marcel wasn’t sure if it was such a good idea to have others witness what was happening to her mother, but then again Nate was different. He was her anchor and sanity, her best friend, advisor and counselor.
