I stepped into the meeting room, my heart beating hard in my chest. I didn't know what to expect from this meeting. Things could either end in our favor or it could end really badly.

I stood beside my parents at the end of the long meeting table. At the other end were former Betas Cole and Addy, former Gammas Brown and Lily and the pack priestess. My grand parents were supposed to be part of them, but they had died a long time ago. Also seated were the present Betas and Gammas.

The members of the council always consisted of the pack's former leaders. So the members seated there were the pack rulers before my dad took over as Alpha. In turn, when I became Alpha, the position will pass on to my parents and his colleagues. My grand parents would have been the leaders of the council, but they were dead.
