I wasn't sure what happened first, if it was Devon's gunfire or Liam's yell but we moved as one. Snaking through the Nephilim, Todd jumped in the driver's side and started the truck. The damn things had been too busy with Jason so we were able to get a very small head start, but that was all we needed. The tires screeched painfully as Todd violently peeled out. We didn't have to say why we were upset. It was obvious we were down one member, and while we would have to report and explain; everyone was willing to give us a minute to decompress. “Ver, check your face!” Liam hissed into my ear. I couldn’t help it, my face said whatever I was thinking, and right now I was not pleased. This guy still gave me weird vibes, and I did not like him.
