Laura who was occupied with a novel in her room, heard her husbands car drive in. She looked through her window and saw him get down. She checked the wall clock, 11:30pm. 'Quite early for a married man' Note the sacarsm.

'I hate her' he convinced himself. He freshened up and went downstairs. He was going to have some breakfast but when he got down and he saw Laura sitted at the dinning table having her morning coffee and reading her magazine, he lost his appetite immediately.
