“What do you mean he’s dead?” My lips parted and I blinked, not believing the words I had just heard.

“He just slumped and died, no one knows the cause of his death yet,” Aiden explained solemnly, giving me a pitiful look.

I felt dizzy and I could barely breathe. I could feel my legs shaking and I struggled to stay upright. I was scared, more scared than I’d ever been in my life.

Uncle Zach was one of the other fatherly figures I had while growing up. He was very nice to me and always made sure I was okay. He checked on me whenever he had the chance and now he was gone.

Why did I always lose people? I was starting to think I was cursed or something. The worst part was that no one knew the cause of his death.
