Chapter 3

Victoria

Waking up with a groan, I shivered in fear as the cold voice of my father sounded heavily in the dark cell. I shifted back in fear as he came into view walking toward me with two guards behind me. I winced in pain as my body which was filled with bruises and wound came in contact with the wall. My sister is the mastermind behind it, she is indeed a wicked person. Even knowing that I don't possess the wolf fast healing, she ordered some guards to whip me in the middle of the night. I couldn't help but cried until tears refuse to brim down from my eyes. I really hate myself for not possessing any werewolf features or characteristics, can't heal faster than an human, couldn't find my wolf and my mate.

Wait! What is the purpose of staying alive? I should have been killed or executed. I really hate this life of mine. I jolted out of the painful thoughts as my dad fist collided hard on the wall which caused the wall to crack. I gulped down into nothing as he stared at me with a deadly look. I decided to act strong and break the long silent which engulfed the cell room. We were only exchanging glances between ourselves.

"Why are you here?"I asked not sparing him a glance without fear even though my heart was pounding heavily in fear.

"You really want to know the reason why I'm here right? Well, I came to inform you that the pack anniversary is today. Don't ruin my daughter's chance of finding her mate and now go do your work"I was really sad that my dad could really say. Even though I knew he doesn't love me but never thought he could say this. Why is my dad treating me like rubbish?

What! So today is the pack anniversary. It's such a pity that I couldn't remember the date of the pack anniversary just due to the depression I'm passing through in the hand of my family. But what did he mean by I would be the only in charge of the guest feast. I don't think I can do what he said because there are numerous maids who a to do it. Am not going to do it. I can't die of too much work labour. Even though I know it is like granting a dead wish for myself if I refuse but I don't give a damn or care. I'm not an important person in the pack anyway, everyone in the pack even the Omega regards me as a slave. So I don't care if he do anything to me.

Summoning courage, I looked up and speak without fear. I stared at him with my eyes piercing in his eyes.

"I don't think I can do it. I can't do it because there are numerous maids in the pack which I am sure are capable of making a feast for the guest so why are you disturbing my life?"my heart leaped out of its cribbage in fear as he stared at me with gritted teeth.

"It seems you have grown wings in this short period of time. However I am not suggesting but ordering to be in charge of the kitchen while your siblings welcome the quests"I shook my head as tears began to form in my eyes.

"I can't do it"immediately I said this, one of the guard unsheathed a dagger and moved toward me but my dad stopped him midway. I thought he would have allowed the guard to kill me maybe I would have a peace of mind. He moved toward me instead and gripped me tightly on my neck, choking me almost to death. I held my chest coughing as he release his grip on my neck. His hand was really painful.

"As I was saying, you would be in charge of the feast while your siblings would welcome the guests and mind you. You are not permitted to come out during the event"I nodded slowly in agreement. I don't have a choice but to do it. I'm really annoyed at the level at which they had relegated me. I cursed them all in my heart remembering the pain I passed through in their hand. He smirked and walked away with the two guards. I don't know why but I have a hope that I am a wolf just that something is hindering my wolf. I tried to call out my wolf but there was no response. Well I am not surprised anymore, ever since some witches came and said that I am a wolf less and useless as a human.

I stood up and walked out of the cell room as the door was opened by the guards. I glanced at the guards before walking away. They really made me suffer, it's not their fault though, they were only doing as instructed. I walked into the kitchen and met some maids there doing their work prospectively. I shook my head ignoring their abusive words. I wash my hands thoroughly before wearing an apron. I prepared different meals for the Alpha. Through the other maids, I heard that he is young and handsome and in search of a wife. Immediately I heard this, I wondered whether he was my mate that the goddess wanted to use to take me away from suffering. All the maids are all done with their work leaving me alone. Getting tired, I dozed off with food on the fire. Suddenly, I woke up as someone hitted my back. I turned my back and the person turned out to be my sister. I held my cheek as she landed a hot slap on my cheek.

"Wake up son of a bitch. Do you want to burn down this pack because of your useless life"

"Now! Get back to work and stop sleeping. Wolf less and useless wolf"she spat out before walking out. I was really tired, it was 2'o o'clock in the morning already. Why can't they have pity on me? I have been working all night.

Done with the preparation of the food, I prepare to go and have a rest after all he had released me from the cell. I looked up as the door made a squeaking sound. My dad came into view with the same two guards behind him. What does he have to say again? I'm really tired of this shit.

"Don't bother to ask the reason why I'm here. Now! Guards escort to the house at the back of the pack"my eyes widened in shock at his statement. I began to beg him but he refused and paid a deaf ear to me.

"I can't afford you to disgrace me. Or what do you want me to say when the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack comes and finds out that you are wolf-less and useless as a human?"I struggled to release my arm from the grip of the two muscular guards who held my arm firmly.

"And don't dare come out of the house until we are done with the anniversary and the guest had return back to their pack then you are allowed to come out"

I was dropped in the small house at the back of the pack which is reserved for me when an important person comes to the pack. I don't have a choice but to stay. My father doesn't want anyone to know that his daughter is wolf less. I kicked the door open and walked in with a scoff sound. I sighed in frustration as I heard the arrival of the Alpha because I wouldn't be let out till he leaves. I pulled off my clothes and moved toward the bed about to sleep when a harsh knock sounds on the door and almost immediately, the door flings open. Who the hell is the person?

I screamed and covered myself as a handsome and fierce looking man came into view. He must be the Alpha. But what is he doing here and how did he get here? I watched as his eyes roamed at my feature.My heart leaped out in joy as he whispered the word. "Mate". Now I have finally found my mate who will take me out of the pack. However, neither did I know that it was the beginning of trouble.
