Chapter 5

Damon

Waking up from the deep slumber due to the blaring sound of my alarm, I switched it off the alarm and yawned out with my arm widely spread. I stood up from the bed and put on the flip-flops, pulled off my clothes and walked into the bathroom.

I switched on the shower. I ran my hand through my long hair as water flowed down from my face. I switched it off and shoved myself into the jacuzzi tub which had been filled with warm water. I grab a fragrance soap and scrub my body for a while before rinsing my body. I stood up from the jacuzzi with water dripping from my body, reached for a white towel beside me and wrapped it around my waist together with my chest region, walked out of the bathroom with a huff sound. I walked toward the wardrobe in the left direction, pulled the wardrobe open and brought out a red tuxedo suit and a black jean. I put it on and combed my hair facing the mirror in my front. I moved toward the wooden table and reached for the hot cup of coffee, grabbed it and gulped down its contents. I dropped the cup of coffee and picked a napkin from the table and cleaned my lips. I stood up from the chair and adjusted my dress before walking out of my room. Aiden my Beta stood beside the door step of my chamber. He bowed a little with a soft smile. He was the only one who understood me very well.

"Where are you heading to, Alpha?"he said, trying to sound humble.

"Well, I'm heading to the pack company"

"I want to go with you. Should I go with you?"I nodded and he smiled softly. I walked through different hallways with greetings thrown at us.

Walk into the company filled with different staff. They were all surprised to see me. I haven't been out since the death of my mate, just been under the trauma of love. She is indeed a strong and powerful wolf whom I pray that if the goddess wants to give me a mate, the mate should be as powerful as her so we can protect and uphold the pack strongly. They all bowed their heads and greeted me generally. One of the female staff walked toward me but I stopped her midway indicating with my hand.

I walk out of the control room, descend the stairs leading to my main office. I opened the transparent glass door and walked in, smiled as the cold air of the AC brushed my skin. I walked toward the glass table which was filled with files and documents to work. I sat on the swivel chair and heave out. Going through the files and documents on the table, I heaved out tiredly before standing up from the chair. I walked out of the office and proceeded out of the company with Aiden behind me.

Getting to the pack border, a guard rushed toward my direction and bowed his head.

"Alpha, the old Alpha is in the pack" what is my father doing here? Oh! It must be about the mate. Maybe the elder had reported me to him.

"Tell him I would meet him in the throne room"the guard nodded his head before walking away. I walked into the pack with Aiden behind me.

"Don't you think the old Alpha is here because of the mate matter?"

"Yes that's also my thoughts"

Aiden opened the door of the throne room, I walked into the throne room and sat in my golden fur throne. I bow a little in the sight of my powerful father. I rubbed my hand on my chin as I stared at my dad with an impending silence. I decided to break the pin drop silent.

"Dad, I know there must be a reason why you are here. So why are you here?"

"What do you mean? Can't I visit my son again"

"No father. You don't come without a reason"I said with a lopsided smile on my lips.

"Okay you got me. Well, you should have know the reason why I'm here"

"How can I know the reason why you are here?"I asked.

"Okay. Well I came here because your mate matters less. I mean an Alpha is suppose to rule a pack with his Luna as to uphold the strength of the pack"

"So father, what do you want me to do? I have been searching for a mate since my mate died but the goddess refuse to give me another mate"

"I understand your plight but you know that is not enough"

"What do you mean?"

"What I meant is that you should go for an outing, either a pack party, a club or whatever. Hope you understand? Well the reason why I'm here is because the Oakland pack gave me an invitation letter. They are celebrating their anniversary. Now you're the Alpha, it's your duty, you should go"I nodded and collected the letter my dad stretched at me. I opened it and read the content of the letter, squeezed it and threw it away.

"Okay father. I would try to go"

"Don't try to go. You have to go. It is a must"I nodded my head and stood up from my throne. I bowed my head a little before walking away.

"Thank you for the advice tho"I walked out of the throne room and dashed out of the pack with Aiden behind me. He loves following me and I don't think sending him back is good so I decide to leave him. We boarded a chariot ride even though we can get there with our wolf speed.

"We are at the Oakland pak border, Alpha ''the horse neigh out loudly as he suddenly stops the ride which causes an unbalanced posture. The wolf guards at the borders inspect us properly before granting us access into their pack. After a few minutes we got to the final destination, the building of the Oakland pack. We got down from the chariot and heaved out with a sigh. It was indeed a stressful and long journey. I looked around the building mesmerized by the beautiful structure, the huge gigantic tower was well built and decorated with beautiful flowers in the pack. I was amazed by the structure of the  building that I didn't notice the Queen and Alpha of the pack with a few maids behind them. My dad placed his hand on my shoulder before walking toward them, I followed from behind him immediately. We all exchanged pleasantries among ourselves with respect. We walked deep into the pack house, and we got to the dining room. The maids all served food of various delicacies. Their maids were all beautifully dressed.

"We are happy to have you here in Oakland pack anniversary, it's really a big pleasure for us"

"It is also my pleasure, I have to come when it's my neighborhood pack celebrating an anniversary"Alpha Henry nodded with a smile.

"You can eat your food"we took the cutleries and began to eat, only the sound of the cutleries were heard as we didn't make any sound but concentrated on the food. Sipping a bit out of the red wine, I dropped the cutleries on the table with a soft huff sound. I cleared my throat as they were all done with the eating. They all stared at me expecting me to make a statement.

"Alpha Henry, how are your children?" He looked at me with a short smile before responding.

"They are all fine,"I nodded.

I was shocked as a Lily and ginger scent mixed with a cinnamon thick scent hit my nose. What! Does that mean that I have seen my mate. It was like a wonder to me. How do I get to her? Shifting the chair backward, I stood up from the chair making an excuse. I looked up and followed her scent which seemed to be far from the building. I looked around confusedly as I got to the back of the pack which the scent took me to but couldn't find anyone here. I looked up and saw a lonely house at the back side immediately my instincts told me my mate must be in the pack. I walked toward the house as the scent became thicker. Getting to the doorstep, I knocked on the door, impatiently I kicked down the door. I was shocked and surprised to see a young adorned lady. She was naked. She screamed and covered herself as my eyes roamed around her nice erected boobs. Her mood brightens as I whisper the word. "mate"
