Nicks POV There were lots of hugs and crying mainly from mom. My dad and I are talking business while mom and my mate are talking baby names and nursery themes.“Dad, I do have a question. Well it is more of a request actually.” I say.“What is it son, you know that you can ask me anything.” he replies.“Well I was wondering if you would like to retire from Alpha a little sooner than we discussed? Izzy has agreed to be my Luna and my wife. We would both like to do the two ceremonies together, that way we step into this next chapter as equals.” He seems to think about my words.“How soon were you thinking?” He asks.“Weekend after next.” I say. Before he has a chance to answer my mother almost screeches.“You want to have a wedding and an Alpha ceremony in a week and a half?” Her face is almost white with horror. “Come on Catie, you know that you can throw it together for them. Let them be young,” my father tells her.“Where on earth are we going to find you a dress?” she ponders.
Izzy’s POV Several hours later we are laying in the bed, I can't seem to go to sleep. Nick crashed about an hour ago, exhausted. I was exhausted as well but couldn’t seem to shut my brain off, so much had happened today. I would be married to the love of my life in ten days. We will become Alpha and Luna of the pack together as mates, as well as husband and wife. In twelve weeks or less we would have a baby. Werewolves have faster healing, along with a faster pregnancy. We can’t shift or be marked while pregnant, it can be fatal to the fetus. I wouldn’t risk my baby's life for anything I know that much. Nick is in agreement. Zinnia and Crescenda both had come forward earlier. Each took their turns marking him with our canines, embodying him with our power. When Zinna pulled our teeth from his neck and ran our tongue across the mark, Nick let out a loud brutal groan. The sound alone had sent a puddle of heat to my core. I was instantly aroused, but he had finished before I ev
Izzys POV It feels like I had just closed my eyes when they snapped open to the boom of Alpha Simon, Nick’s father, through the mind link. ‘INTRUDERS’ He bellows. My heart nearly stops in my chest, and Nick and myself both fly out of the bed at the same time. Nick tries to tell me to stay, I refuse. This is my pack as much as it is his now and I was not about to let my people die. Only when he steps out of the door, blocking my path, he hits a button on his keys. There is a loud groan making me look around. I realize my mistake was looking. There were roller shutters rolling down at a record speed. Before I can process anything, they hit their landing, locking in place. That dick head locked me in the house while our people were dying. Who in the fuck does he think he is? He may be my mate, but he does not get to make my choices for me. I am fuming. Fucking Livid.‘I am sorry my love, but I cannot risk your safety.’ I hear through the mind link.‘Fuck You,’ is all I say befo
Izzy’s POVWe follow Nick’s gaze and see that his father is also under the command. A hand instantly goes over our mouth in horror. We drop our mate's hand and run to where Simon is kneeling. I touch his shoulder and he relaxes. He pulls himself to a standing position. He glances around, then looks back at me, the shock evident in his face.“I am so sorry Alpha, I needed the fighting to stop. I didn’t realize it would affect you too.” My head hangs in guilt.“Don’t call me Alpha, Izzy, and You have no reason to apologize to me. Do you think you can lift the command from only the pack?” He asks, looking around.“I am not sure, let me see.” Crescenda tells him. She feels for the teethers to the pack alone and when she speaks they all listen.“Members of the Red Creek pack you may rise!” Her voice carried all the way across the opening.“Why didn’t you tell us you were special?” he asks curiously.“Because Izzy only found out yesterday before we came here. She needed time to process. Z
Nick’s POV Four hours later all of the men had pledged to my father. There were one hundred and sixty of them. All but twenty six had families. A group of us went with them to help retrieve them, and what little belongings they had. Dad has connections, and he had two charter buses meet us there. No less than two hundred women and children were loaded in an hour. Most of our warriors stayed to help the women and children get everything set up. Sixty could be placed in the pack house. Izzy and I have two extra rooms. We told Zaden that he, his mate, and sister were welcome to stay with us. I called mom to check on Izzy. The phone rang three times before she picked up.“Nick, is everything okay?” She asked worriedly.“Yeah mom everything is fine, I was calling to check on Izzy. I haven’t had time to get her a phone yet.” I said. I hear her sigh with relief.“She is still in goddess mode. She said that she didn’t want to shift back in front of any of them yet.” She pauses, “she is
Izzy’s POV Once she is fed and we get some water in her. Her color pinks up a little bit. It was almost five in the afternoon. This has to be the longest day in history.Everyone started heading to where they would be sleeping. Caterina walks to where we are sitting on the ground. She has a pink backpack that is covered in glitter purple butterflies. She smiles at me and sits in front of us.“I put together a bag for you.” She tells Blair. “It has a set of clothes for tomorrow, and a set of pajamas for tonight. I also put you some bath soap that smells like watermelon.” She grins and winks at the tiny girl in my arms. She hands the bag to me, Blair reaches out and touches one of the butterflies.“Pretty,” she whispers. She looks up at me.“Can I stay with you?” She asks me in a small voice.“Of course you can hunny.” I answer automatically. I don’t even think to ask Nick. I wonder what he thinks about it.‘I don’t give a flying pig what he thinks about this. This baby needs som
Nick’s POV Standing under the stream of the hot water, trying to let it wash away the last twelve hours. This had to be the longest day in history. I still find it hard to believe that my mate made everyone that was in the pack take a knee. Even those not in the pack were forced to their knees. But how did she do that to the front door? I know she said Zinna had used her magic, but she didn’t just blow the door all to pieces. There was a heavy duty roller shutter, they could keep out the strongest werewolves. They were made to withstand a hurricane or tornado. ‘Her power is elemental,’ an unknown voice says. I look around, swearing I heard someone speak to me. However, I was the only one in the bathroom. Maybe I am just that exhausted. I continue to rinse the shampoo from my hair, when I hear the voice again. ‘She is the opposite of us,’ it says. Looking around I still don't see anyone. Caius is unusually quiet. ‘Right here alpha, the name is Finnick. I am in your head.’
Izzy’s POV It is the morning of the wedding. Caterina, Sunny, Rachel, Blair, and Rosie stayed at the cabin with me last night. The men stayed at the pack house. It is a human tradition that it is bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. We decided we could use all the good luck we could get. We ate pizza for dinner and had ice cream for dessert. Pizza has been my main craving so far, besides pickles. The day we went for the ultrasound, we found out that Blair had no living relatives. We applied for adoption the next morning. However, we did find out that we were expecting twins, not just one baby. Everyone is over the moon about them, Sunny said they seemed to be perfectly healthy. She also said that we would get an ultrasound every two weeks, to measure their progress. We are two weeks along, which makes the gestational age of the babies six weeks in humans. “Are you ready to start getting dressed?” Caterina says, walking into the bedroom. Blair and I were still in bed
