Four

I tap my manicured fingers on the steering wheel as I hum to the song playing. Its fifteen minutes to ten and I'm about five minutes away from The Kings company. Today I had decided to wear a red suit that I love and red Jimmy choo patent leather Anouk 120 pumps. I had applied some light make-up and spiced it up with a deep red lipstick. I love the shades of lipsticks my sister makes.

I park the car on the first spot I find then get out with my bag in hand. I start walking in long strides emitting confidence and class as I smile politely to the people I pass. I have lived with Naomi for years watching her and try imitating her some times.

"I have an appointment with Aiden Kings." I tell the secretary I find in the lobby.

"What is your name Miss?"

"Alex Black."

"Just a minute." She politely says as she types. "Please take the elevator to the thirty seventh floor. He is waiting for you." The secretary instructs and I give her a curt nod. I walk to the elevator my heart beating faster with anticipation with each step I take. What is he going to propose? Marriage? I scoff at that as I watch the numbers change as the elevator goes higher.

Aiden Kings is very successful and the more I try to think about what he would possibly want from me, the more I get frustrated. Finally the ding signals my arrival. I look at the mirror for a second then get out with a confident smile and stance. He doesnt have to know that I'm dying with curiosity.

I find another secretary who directs me to Aidens office. She knocks and announces my name then leaves after asking what drink I would like. I get into the office and my attention is suddenly on the man working on his computer. He types something then after a few clicks he lifts his eyes on me and I make no mistake of averting mine. He looks at me for some seconds before his eyes start trailing down my body to my shoes. Never have I felt so naked when fully clothed.

"Just in time Ms. Black." He says looking at his watch. I clear my throat then start walking to the couch next to the glass wall. I place my bag on it and seat.

"I'm a busy woman. I work on a schedule." I say turning to him only to find him looking at me intently. I look at him too and make sure not to break eye contact. That is until someone knocks. Aidens secretary gets in holding a tray with the hot tea I had asked for. She walks towards me and places the tea on the small table next to the couch. I thank her and she leaves. I immediately take the cup of steaming tea and take a sip. I love it.

"Time is money Mr. Kings. I need to get going and I know you too have things to do. Can we talk business?" I say after a minute. I place the now half cup of tea on the table and look at Aiden who looks amused.

"Do you love tea that much?" He asks curiously and I shrug.

"The deal Mr. Kings." I remind him. He types something and his printer starts whirling.

"Yesterday you mentioned something about fake dating for two weeks." I nod blankly as I wonder what made me think of such an absurd thing. Kelly had just mentioned about Sean proposing to Diane. But I'm over them! "You also mentioned that at the end of the two weeks we have to stage a breakup where I have to seem affected, heartbroken and miserable." He says.

"Yes." I answer nodding my head slowly. He takes the printed papers and arranges them in order then walks towards me. He probably owns a thousand suits of the same colour and make but he does look good in this black suit and white shirt. The clothes fit him perfectly showing off his build.

He hands me the papers with a small smirk. Him leaning slightly to hand me the papers makes some of the hair to fall on his forehead and partly cover his eye. I take the paper from him and avert my eyes for the first time.

"Why are you giving me this?" I ask not daring to look at the papers my mind already running wild. Could I be right about the Marriage thing? Its something common. People marry for fame, business deals and heirs. Aiden has both fame and good business deals and that leaves out... already panicked, I turn the papers and start looking at them but I soon realize that this is not a marriage contract.

"What the meaning of this?" I asked confused.

"For the deal to happen you have sign it. Since we'll be dating, we'll be forced to spend time together." Aiden says and I wait for him to continue speaking. "I'm a very private man and I can't risk having any information about me spread out to the public by anyone." My mouth forms an O with acknowledgement as I look at the contract where I'm sworn to secrecy.

"What are you into that makes you see the need to make me sign this?" I ask suddenly curious. Wait, scratch that. Even more curious. I'm always curious when I'm next to Mr. Kings and the more I try to solve a puzzle, the more it gets complicated with a new one popping up. Aiden Kings looks at me for a while deep in thought.

Looks like you have to sign to find out. He says cryptically and I roll my eyes. "Did you just roll your eyes at me?" He asks and I pretend not to hear as I read the contract even though I'm fully aware of his eyes on me. I try to find any suspicious clauses but I see none.

"What if I don't sign this?" I ask when I'm done. The conditions are favorable and I'm a hundred percent sure that I would never release information I know about him for personal gain. Well, unless he does something to me that I don't like. I tend to act irrationally as some would say.

"Then the deals over and I wont participate on your show." He says with finality.

"This." I start showing him the contract, "Is suspicious."

"It is. But you have to sign the papers right here, right now if you want us to have any sort of deal Ms. Black. I'm sure you understand the business world and you know how things work." He says in a business tone and I suddenly see him in a new light. I look at the papers in my hand for a second before taking in some air into my lungs and releasing it slowly. I pick up my bag and take out my pen and sign the required areas. Aiden comes and sits beside me his left side touching my right. He takes the contract from me his fingers rubbing against mine. Next, the takes my pen and he too signs where he's supposed to. He gives me back my pen when he's done and stands with the papers in his hands.

"These are your copies and these are mine. It was nice doing business with you Ms. Black." Aiden says giving me his hand. I place mine in his and we shake for a second longer.

"Well talk about the dating later. The earlier we start the better." I say and Aiden nods in agreement.

"We have to be seen together." Aiden says as a small smile appears at the end of his statement. "And I know the perfect place." I look at him in question. "Get ready for a date today evening Alexandra. I'll pick you up at seven on the dot." He orders and I scoff.

"I'm afraid you'll have to do better than that Mr. Kings. I'll have to take a hard pass at that."

"What? Why?" He asks and I raise an eyebrow in disbelief.

"How many women have you taken out?"

"Umm A lot?" He answers nonchalantly as he walks to his desk. "Can we wind this up? I have a meeting in a few." He says and my eyes suddenly dart to the diamond watch resting on my arm. It is ten minutes to eleven! My eyes widen slightly in disbelief as I stand in haste with my bag. I need to go to dad.

"I have to leave Mr. Kings. If you want dinner, then you have to ask better. Have a good day." With that, I walk to his door and get out. I shut the door and check the time once again not believing how fast time went. It's not like I was having a good time in there with him. His secretary looks at me with a polite smile and I return it with my own. She made me good chamomile tea.

I walk to the elevator and press the ground floor key then wait. Almost an hour ago I was wondering what Aiden would possibly want with me but now here I am. He only wanted me to sign a contract that makes me wonder even more. What is Aiden Kings really afraid of? What is he hiding? I'm a very curious human being and knowing this is like an itch I can't reach. I have to know what Aiden Kings is hiding for my personal gain. Lucky for me we are dating. I mean fake dating.

I walk to my car only to find someone shouting at the guards about something. Thinking about how late I am, I walk to my car but Im stopped by the shouting woman. I look at her in annoyance.

"Stop shouting and speak." I snap and the slightly younger lady looks at me in disbelief.

"You are parking in my spot." She says and I look ahead where a sign with a name 'Calla Kings' is written. She is one of the Kings twins. I realize. I remember reading Aiden took over their dad's company as the twins took over their mother's. The companies had merged but dealt in different businesses.

"I'm sorry Ms. Kings. It won't happen again." I try saying politely because I've heard of how spoilt the girl is and I really need to get to my dad. She starts shouting again and I let out a breath. "I really need to leave Calla. I can't deal with this. People are looking and we can't have our names tarnished because of some small misunderstanding." I play the people are looking card and as always, it works. Calla moves towards me and hisses telling me to leave with my car and some things I don't listen to. I get into my car and leave but not before flipping her the bird. I mean, all this drama for some stupid parking space?
