Christian held back his groan, gritting his teeth as he glared at me with bloodshot eyes.

“Why is everyone so stubborn here?” I sighed. “Well, pain is a choice, and you chose not to show it. I respect that.”

“Shove that respect up your ancient ass and get out of my best friend’s body,” he growled, glaring right into my eyes.

I chuckled wryly. “You have a strange sense of humor. How does it feel to be in that head of yours, to have a tongue sharper than your claws? There is no real damage you can do to me.”

Christian laughed obnoxiously. “That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard.”

“Oh! Have you ever heard yourself?” I taunted back.

Morana let out a titter with a smirk spread across her lips.

I shifted my gaze to Morana, whose calculative eyes analyzed me.

She was the one important to me, but I was still not sure if I could absorb my heart and Bond without damaging them both in the process.

I couldn’t risk absorbing Bond while she had my heart because then… it could damage
