Chapter thirty five

"Dominic! Wake up! Stop being so carried away...!"

Kathy repeatedly tapped Dominic's shoulder, but he appeared oblivious to her efforts and seemed impervious to any pain. He simply gazed at Kathy in silence.

Dominic's eyes shimmered, full of light and remorse in a way that she could not understand, causing Kathy to feel a mix of fear and a sense of injustice. Despite his flaws, he had never pushed himself this way or rebelled against himself like he was doing now.

This realization left Kathy feeling deeply wronged, and tears welled up in her eyes as she gazed at Dominic's familiar yet strangely distant expression.

"Why? Why are you crying?" Dominic's heart ached at the sight of Kathy's tears. Gently, his thumbs traced her face as he affectionately wiped them.

"Dominic, you should be ashamed!" Kathy's tears streamed down her face like a river, her sobs growing louder and more intense.
