“You did dis!” Phoenix points to Valery and Michelle as I stand behind her looking, watching Michelle’s reaction of shock and confusion while Valery looks afraid.“You twied to kill Alpha Queen Raben and my Gunnar!” Phoenix’s scream is full of rage as her hair begins to rise like she is floating in water. “Where are they?” I frantically look around as a whimper escapes me, feeling the strongest urge to hold my pups and never let them go.“Right here, I have them right here for you,” Dad’s voice comes from behind Embry, making my mates move apart.“Thank the Goddess,” I sob, rushing to grab my pups from him, pulling Roan and Gunnar into my chest feeling like they can’t get close enough.“They’re perfectly fine, Phoenix protected them well,” my father’s voice softens as he does his best to reassure me, watching my mates holding our pups and me.“I’m so sorry this happened, I know it is because of Dagon’s fear of me. My allies, friends, family, and I, sit around a meeting table as we wait for Mum to lay Phoenix down.“Osric, help Mum,” Embry raises an eye brow and scolds our mate, making me giggle watching Mum come into the office carrying a tray of tea.“Did she go down easy?” Ares questions, getting up he is quick to help Mum pass out the tea, she smiles at him and nods.“Right away, Phoenix adores that boy, she curled up around Gunnar and Roan and passed right out, she’s exhausted,” Mum answers while patting Benjamin’s back, as she passes behind him.“She should be, the amount of energy she must have exhausted was incredible,” Benjamin chuckles, then shakes his head, and stares down at the table in disbelief. “Back to the matter at hand, Mummo or Mum, do Phoenix’s abilities pose any threat to us?” I ask, shifting over to Embry’s warm lap and pull his arms around me, needing to feel his body against mine. Relaxing into his arms I am reminded of the comfort he gave me after my mother’s death.“She’s a very powerful threat to her enemies, but she’ll ever be a threat to us so long as no one betrays Raven, or Gunnar. Osric’s POV “Did you sleep?” Embry sits up against the headboard and yawns as I glance out the window to see the sun beginning to rise. “No,” I shake my head and take a deep breath as I watch Raven sleep protectively curled up around Gunnar and Roan, who are sleeping on my chest. I have spent the entire night stuck in my head watching them, afraid to close my eyes thinking I will wake up to find out they’re gone and this is just a dream. “You need to sleep,” Embry stretches making me smirk seeing the thick muscles on his arms flex, he runs his fingers through his brilliant red hair brushing it out of his face and blushes noticing my gaze. “I know, I just couldn’t stop watching them… we almost lost everything,” I do my best to remain calm despite how angry I really feel that my family is in danger again.
