I walked into the pack smeared with in my human form. I shifted back before entering and wore the extra clothes I left behind a tree.
My mouth still had traces of blood, so did my body. The blood of the rogues that were smeared on my body had dried. I looked scattered and unkempt as I stepped into the pack house."Where in the goddess''s name did you go to and why are you covered in blood?" My father, Alpha Raiden, glared at me."I went for a run to calm my wolf down and decided to do a little hunting. I did not want to ruin your alliance because if I had stayed back a minute longer I might have caused a war and ruined the peaceful coexistence you wanted with the White Moon pack," I shrugged and went to take a seat. That seemed to calm him down and his eyes softened a bit. I think I saw something more like pity in his eyes but I looked away not wanting his pity or that of anyone else."Oh my baby, are you ok?" Luna Scarlet, my step Mom, rushed to me, engulfing me in a tight hug. When I say tight hug, I mean a choking hug."I'll if you stop choking me," I said, grasping for breath."I'm so sorry," she pulled away." I'm sure there's someone else out there for you," she gawked at me, her eyes laced with sympathy and I could tell she wanted to hug me again. So I took a step back out of her reach. I couldn't risk being choked to death with her hug."I don't need anyone's pity." "My duty is here in this pack and I want to be a pack warrior and nothing else," I scoffed and she glanced back at dad, trying to pass a message. I had a feeling they did something I wouldn't like."Ok what message are you guys passing at each other?" I glanced from Dad to Scarlet, waiting for one of them to talk."You can't remain in this pack forever Imelda and you are a female, you can't be a warrior either.""Are you trying to kick me out?" "Actually…" Dad was saying before Irina, my step sister barged in, interrupting him."Imelda," her eyes glistened in tears as she hugged me."I heard what happened, I can't believe he did that," she sniffed, still hugging me and I patted her hair."News really travels fast around here." I was irritated and I didn't fail to hide it. It was glaring on my face. I can't believe the news of me getting rejected had traveled this fast within hours. "At least you have people that care," Arla spoke up and I ignored her. I hated pity because it made me look weak."Do you want me to deal with him for you?" Irina released herself from my hold and stared at me waiting for my permission. If I did give her the permission, she was truly going to hunt Damien down. Not to brag, but Irina could be lethal when fighting."You will be dealing with no one, Irina. We are now at peace and I won't have you disrupting that," Dad spoke up authoritatively."But he hurt Imelda and didn't care about her feelings," she retorted and Dad growled at her, making her take refuge behind me."My decision is final Irina, I do not want to see you on the shores of the White Moon pack causing any trouble.""You should listen to your dad Irina," Mom spoke up, interfering and stopping Irina from saying a word again.Irina huffed and folded her hands angrily. For some reason, I kept quiet and just watched my Dad as he glared angrily at Irina."Have you told Imelda that you are getting her married to Prince Derek in my stead," Irina asked and time seemed to freeze at that very instant."Irina!" Mom chided Irina who stared at me bug eyed. I still didn't understand what she said because it didn't make sense."They are getting us married," Arla rechoed it in my head."Shut up Arla, we are not getting married," I gritted my teeth in anger refusing to accept the betrayal trying to weigh me down."Dad, what is Irina talking about and who is getting married?" I faced my dad. He had a sorry look on his face. He always had that look on his face whenever he did something he knew I wouldn't like."Imelda darling, we did it for the good of the pack," Mom wrapped her hands around me and I shrugged it off, pushing her away."I still don't understand what you guys are talking about. Can you guys explain and stop giving me sorry looks!" I glowered in anger."Irina was betrothed to the Prince from birth," dad said."What!" I yelled."How could you get her betrothed to the prince? What if he was not her mate? Didn't you ever think of that?" "Not all wolves are given a mate by the moon goddess. You of all people know about the curse. Only a few are blessed and given the opportunity to have a mate. So we took the chance to betroth Irina to Prince Derek when it presented itself to us to secure her future.""You mean to secure your position," Irina scoffed and Mom pinched her to be quiet.I took in slow breaths trying to calm myself and stop myself from exploding because if I didn't I might end up doing something really bizarre and crazy."So what does all these have to do with me?"There was silence and nobody talked. I was getting impatient already and was close to blowing up if no one said anything."Irina found her mate," he dropped the bomb."She is mated to the beta's son, Caleb. So it's either she rejects the beta's son to be with the prince or breaks the engagement with the Prince and puts our family at risk of execution."My mind already knew where this was going but I was unwilling to accept it. "So what was your decision," I stared deep into his green emerald eyes, praying to hear something different from what my mind was telling me."Since you were rejected by your mate, we decided that you'll get married to the prince in her stead."My heart seemed to have stopped beating at that very instant and all that kept ringing in my head was that….."You'll get married in her stead…..""I can't believe they are getting me married to the Prince. I don't even have a say in what I want!" I punched the punching bag with all my strength, transferring all my anger to it."I'm certain they have your best interest at heart Imelda," Caleb said, clearing the training room."You have the mouth to talk because you've met your chosen mate, one that you have a connection with and you're also not a woman that will be given off in marriage as an exchange for power," I glared at him, and punched the bag as it came back at me."You're taking it all too seriously. Who wouldn't want to get married to the Prince? He's a whole lot of package plus I heard he is handsome," Caleb winked at me and I threw a cup at him."Hey, you could have injured me there," he scowled at me."Oh, I'm sorry," I said sarcastically and he scoffed."After being rejected, getting married to some unknown guy is not on my list," I grabbed a towel wiping away my sweat as I scoffed angrily."You should know women ha
"Imelda wake up!" Caleb kicked me and I groaned."I'm trying to die peacefully.""Get up idiot, you're not dying," he kicked me harder this time and I opened my eyes to glare at him angrily. He held on to his blood stained knife and helped me up."I thought I was dead.""No you are not but you won't be lucky next time so get your shit together," he glared angrily at me."I can't have anything happening to you. Alpha Raiden will kill me for allowing you patrol and fight rogue wolves and war dogs with us.""Alright, I'm sorry. I'll be more careful next time.""You better be," he scoffed and walked away, going to check on the others.I turned to see the war dog that attacked me decapitated. It's head laid at my feet with it's eyes wide open.I really felt content when this thing wanted to kill me. At least, I was dying in an honorable way in front of battle. Though in my eyes only. To the other wolves, I was dying a revolt for engaging in a fight not meant for women.Everyone was ok and
I groaned, uncomfortable with the dress. I kept twisting my body trying to loosen my clothes or better still tear it."Seat still Imelda, you'll rip the clothes apart," Mom glared at me as we journeyed to the palace on horseback."This cloth is too tight and this horse makes my back ache. Why can't we just shift to our wolves and run to the palace," I complained."We have to look presentable before the royal family Imelda. You're getting married to the crowned Prince and will soon become the crowned Princess. You should start getting used to riding on horsebacks and wearing such tight clothes," Dad explained and I gritted my teeth in anger, glaring at the horse who shrieked in protest and almost threw me off its back.I haven't even married the Prince but my life is already being dictated to me. When I eventually marry the Prince I won't be allowed to talk any longer."You'll get used to it sweetheart," mom smiled at me encouragingly and I scoffed."That we'll never happen.""I alread
I sat down outside in front of the royal house lost in thoughts, still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my father abandoned me without blinking an eye. Even as he left and I laid sprawled on the ground hoping he'd look back and see how miserable I was because he was leaving but he didn't even glance back for once. It actually made me feel like he truly wanted to get rid of me."Maybe he did," Arla stated and I huffed still not wanting to come in terms with that even when the truth was staring right back at me in the face. "You know I'd appreciate it if you don't scream the truth out in my face. I'm miserable as it is already and the last thing I need at the moment is more painful truths.""Well the more you come in terms with the painful truth the more easier it would be for you to edge forward."I rolled my eyes, scoffing. "You're one to give advice. Why didn't you apply this when Damien rejected us?""You don't have to bring up the assholes name again!" "I was having fu
"How can you guys be so identical," I gawked at them, my mouth widely opened in awe and they both giggled, looking amused.Sitting right in front of me were two girls that looked totally identical. I kept glancing from one girl to the other trying to see or at least pinpoint one difference between them but it seemed impossible. This was not the first time that I was seeing twins but this was definitely the first time that I was definitely seeing twins this identical and hard to tear apart facially. They were both dressed in royal attires. Their clothes also identical and it made me frown. Their seamstress should be hanged for making their dresses identical as well. Having twins this identical, their dresses ought to be used as a means to tear then apart but no, they just had to sew the same dresses for them and confuse everyone further. Just how dumb could people be?"We are dressed in identical dresses because we love looking the same," one of the girls spoke up as though reading my
"Do not let your hands or legs come down, keep them straight up in the air," the girls barked at the maids whose heads were on the ground and their bodies lifted up in the air. After barging into the Princesses room without knocking, this was what they got they got in return. The girls were cruel and heartless, some of the maids were already crying but none of them dared to drop their legs. I wonder how they were able to hold that position without collapsing.Who the hell came up with this kind of punishment in the first place?I felt like walking out of the hidden door and asking the girls to free the maid but I couldn't risk being seen by the maids. They might rat me out to the head maid.I felt pity for them but there was literally nothing I could do to help them at the moment. I was a fugitive in my new home. The most cruel thing these girls were doing was eating the barbeque fish I had suffered to steal from the kitchen and I could tell that they had no intention of leaving any b
"You have a strange name," Naya pointed out and I laughed. She was definitely not the first to tell me that. Several people mentioned it to me already and I've gotten used to hearing that from people."But the name is cool and it has a badass vibe to it," Maya said, all smiles."Well, looking at it from that angle, you're right," Naya stroked her chin, nodding her head in agreement to what Maya said.We were all sitting on the bed, in a circular pattern and the twins kept pairing at me curiously as though they were both trying to figure me out."Alright if you guys don't stop staring at me, I'm going to pluck your eyes out," I threatened, no longer finding their staring cool and with their eyes on me for long, it made my skin feel funny. There was this tingling sensation as though their eyes were crawling on my body. It felt creepy."You won't do that," Maya gasped, bug eyed, holding her chest dramatically and I smirked."Try me." She gulped loudly, seeing how serious I was with the i
"Sweet Goddess," Naya exclaimed, breathing heavily."I think we are safe here for now," Maya shut the door close while I simply collapsed on the floor. I had no strength to move anymore. I literally drained whatever energy I had left to run into this hideout."Why do you think she was searching for us?" Maya asked, collapsing beside me."I don't know," Naya frowned, looking clueless but few seconds later she her eyes widened in horror as though she remembered something."What is it? Did you figure out yet?" Maya leaned towards her, peering at her curiously, hoping to get something.Naya faced her still looking horrified. "Do you think she found out that we trashed her garden and replaced her beautiful daises with thorns we thought were flowers?"Maya gasped, also looking horrified. "Do you think that's it?""That's why she is looking for us?""That's the only thing I could think of that would make her seek us out," Naya replied, biting her fingers."If she finds out that we trashed he
