Shannon's bare neck seemed particularly fair and empty now.

The server said, "Ms. White, we've all checked the surveillance footage. The necklace definitely went missing inside the restroom, which we've searched thoroughly. We didn't find anything there."

Lucas looked at Chelsey coolly. Chelsey returned his gaze with a stubborn one. She wanted to ask him whether he believed her or Shannon but decided against it. She didn't want to humiliate herself. He would definitely believe Shannon, after all.
