Lucas had always thought that Chelsey had married him when he was blind because of his money. Now, it seemed that she didn't need the money at all.

Judging from how she'd talked about those oil paints, they were probably worth more than Shannon's Vashmir sapphire necklace.

Shannon had nothing to be smug about anymore. She said to Lucas daintily, "I feel a little unwell, Lucas. Let's head home."

"Alright. I'll send you home." Lucas left without mincing words.

Shannon felt uneasy as she got into the car. She didn't know what Lucas was thinking. Did he trust her or Chelsey?

She was so unsettled the whole way that she even forgot to get out when they arrived at her place.

Lucas saw how distracted she was and said, "We're here, Shannon."

"Huh? Oh." Shannon returned to her senses and forced out the sweetest smile she could. "Come in and have a seat, Lucas. I'll make you your favorite coffee."

"No, it's fine. You should get some rest if you're not feeling well. Bye." He didn't get out
