Ch. 54: A Challenge Between the Two

Although Brent admitted that Aliyah was the mastermind, he was executed for his hand in things. Aliyah would live with the decisions that she made and would think twice before betraying Golden Crescent again.

The remainder of the day was solemn. No one spoke of Brent’s death or of Aliyah’s betrayal. She was escorted to the edge of the border where she would live out her days under patrolling guard. They couldn’t trust her within arm’s reach, so keeping watch on her at all times was the best thing.

After silently mourning the loss of a comrade, albeit a traitor, the following day, they trained for hours and relentlessly. The rest of the week went on the same way and before anyone could process, it was time to converge on Blood Moon; the war was basically here, and Denice was out for blood.

**** The Day Before the Blood War ****

“Have our recon teams come back yet?” Denice asked Jake.

“They have just arrived Your Majesty and are waiting in the war room for your instruction.” He replied.
