Chapter 2

Spacie didn't keep faint for long time.

Half a year ago, she accidentally aborted a child. This matter had become the deepest pain in Spacie's heart.

Spacie had a strong desire that she should protect the unborn child in her womb. She struggled hard with the effect of the tranquilizer. Finally, she slowly regained consciousness. She heard there were people were quarreling.

"This is your child, my grandson, the offspring of Bennett's family!" Chris's mother, Hellen, scolded Chris angrily, "You want to abort this child again? No way! I won't allow you do that. I won't watch this tragedy again!"

Chris did not say anything. Spacie closed her eyes and held her breath and expecting good would happen next.

However, they stopped arguing. Someone hold Hellen's hand and comforted her.

"Let go of my hand!" Hellen angrily shook off the nurse's hand, pointed at Chris and scolded "I will try my best to protect Spacie and the unborn child!"

"Mom" Chris finally spoke, his voice extremely hoarse and low. "This child can't come to this world."

"Why? Give me a reason Chris!"

Chris was silent for a long time and said in a hoarse voice, "Sofia is also pregnant. If you want a grandson, Sofia can also achieve it."

Hearing this, Spacie trembled because of being shocked. She opened her eyes and glared at Chris. She said in hoarse voice, "Chris, you betrayed me!"

Chris trembled slightly. Nobody noticed it. Two seconds later, he looked at Spacie on the bed.

The thin woman lay on the hospital bed, was very weak. Her face pale, her eyes moist, she stared at him angrily with resentment.

Chris kept silent and was determined to say after a long time, "Yes, I'm tired of you."

Hearing this, Spacie was heartbroken, the pain from heart spread to whole body.

Spacie trembled, wanted to speak, roar, and blame him. But when she opened her mouth, she couldn't say anything.

Spacie and Chris were childhood sweethearts and had known each other for twenty—five years. They had been in love for five years and been married for two years.

He said he would protect and love her for the rest of her life.

When he proposed to her, he promised that he wouldn't abandon and betray her.

However, he had cheated on her, made other woman get pregnant and he said he was tired of her. Spacie closed her eyes, tears falling down from her eyes.

"Get lost." She said coldly, "Chris, I don't want to see you!"

Chris didn't move. Spacie opened her eyes subconsciously and looked at him with expectation.

Perhaps, he had his difficulty!..…

"Spacie," Chris said in a low voice but clearly. "I married you because you were the only daughter of the Jones family. I have signed a contract with your father when he was still alive."

Spacie was stunned. She did not know about it.

"Your father said that as long as I marry you, promise not to divorce you, and take care of you in the rest of my life, he will agree to give your family's property, stocks, funds and introduce his business partner to me. So …"

He paused for a moment, tried to make sure that Spacie can hear it clearly.

" I married you for money."

Spacie laughed, tears streaming down her face. Chris faked a smile and said, "Just keep our marriage in form. As for the child … That's disgusting."

Spacie trembled and curled up in pain.

"Chris!" Hellen said angrily, "You have no conscience. How can you say this to Spacie?"

Chris didn't say anything and walked away.

"Spacie" Hellen walked to the bedside. "Don't take what he said too seriously. He must have his difficulty. I'll …"

"Hellen." Spacie said softly, "Hellen, I don't want to give birth to this child."
