"It's a girl, Mrs. Elizalde..."
The said woman, Mrs. Elizalde, burst out in tears upon the declaration of her child's sex. Everyone around her was busy walking back and forth after giving birth to her. Still in haze, Mrs. Elizalde couldn't care less about everything aside from having her child in her arms once was transferred to a private room that her husband paid just for them."She's so pretty, Maicca..." Mr. Elizalde muttered while fondly staring at the sleeping baby he was carrying in his arms.Mrs. Elizalde tiredly smiled, "Let me carry her..." She said, almost in a whisper."Can you do it? Aren't you tired? You can carry her once you regain your energy..." Her husband worriedly says. She shakes her head, "No, I want to see her right now."Albeit reluctant, his husband didn't deny her request especially when the doctor in charge nodded in approval.Once the baby was in her arms, Mrs. Elizalde could tear up when she saw her baby's sleeping face."You're right, she's so pretty..." She says."She got it from you, Mrs. Elizalde," the doctor says with a smile. Mr. Elizalde nodded in agreement as well. The woman could only smile, eyes not tearing off from the baby she was holding delicately."What would you name her, by the way? Have you thought about it?" The doctor asks. The couple glanced at each other, a wide smile gracing their face as they responded at the same time."Alanis Cale," they simultaneously said. "Her name's Alanis Cale Elizalde."-"She's growing really fast, hon..." Mrs. Elizalde heaves out a sigh as she fondly watches her one year old daughter walk around her room, playing with whatever she sees."She really looks like you, Maicca. She got most of your features," Mr. Elizalde says. "I'm pretty sure she'd make a lot of boys cry once she grows up."The woman laughs at what her husband says, "She definitely would.""Her mate is lucky. I just hope he treats her right.""Let's not talk about mates, hon. She's just a year old," Mrs. Elizalde huff."We literally just talked about her making boys cry, what's wrong with talking about mates?""Just... Let's not talk about it. I don't want to think about that stuff right now. It's making me sad thinking that our only child is growing up fast."Before Mr. Elizalde could retort, they heard the doorbell of their house ring."I'll go get it," Mr. Elizalde said, then he sprinted downstairs.Once he opened the door, he looked surprised to see who's behind it."Castillo? What are you doing here?" Mr. Elizalde asks, brows furrowed. The man named Castillo didn't answer. Instead, he looked around."Do you have any other visitors?" He asked, sounding like he's in a hurry."No, we have no visitors," Mr. Elizalde responds. The visitor heaved out a sigh of relief before he pushed the man inside the house."Mr. Castillo? What's wrong?" "Listen carefully here, Adrien," the visitor starts. "I've seen glimpses of your daughter's future."That made Mr. Elizalde perked up, the confusion in his face was replaced by nothing but a frown."What did you see?"Mr. Castillo shakes his head, "It wasn't good, Adrien..."Mr. Elizalde grits his teeth, "I'm not asking if it's good or bad. I'm asking what did you see?""Your daughter... she's fated to the oldest son of the Crimson pack."Mr. Elizalde's eyes widened, "What... that ruthless Alpha who's next in line?"The visitor nodded his head."And you wouldn't want to know what life your daughter would have in his arms, Adrien.""Fuck, of all the men here, why does it have to be a man a lot older than her? And a ruthless one at it," Mr. Elizalde mumbles to himself, fear and frustration creeping up to his system as he just imagined his precious daughter in the arms of that ruthless Alpha. He shakes his head. No. He can't let her daughter be with that man."Are you sure with what you've seen, Mr. Castillo?" He asks the visitor, hoping he would change his words. But to his dismay, it didn't."When have I lied to you, Adrien? And when did my vision didn't come true?" Mr. Castillo mutters in a serious voice.Adrien feels his heart drop as he realizes the man in front of him was a trusted friend of his, and his visions were always accurate."And Adrien, they'll get her from the both of you once she presents herself. Her life would be miserable there despite being spoiled."Silence ensues between the two. Mr. Elizalde remained staring blankly at nowhere, thinking of what he should do to prevent her daughter from meeting the Alpha."Also..." Mr. Elizalde turns to the visitor when he hears him trails off, "What?""She will first meet him on her sixth birthday.""What?!" "So you better think of what you should do if you don't want her to meet her mate," Mr. Castillo quickly added. "Make sure they won't ever meet, Adrien."Mr. Elizalde heaves out a deep sigh before nodding his head, then he patted the latter's shoulder."Thank you, Mr. Castillo."Once the man left, Mr. Elizalde wasted no time to run upstairs. Mrs. Elizalde was startled upon hearing him in a hurry. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when her husband picked out a bag and started packing out their clothes."Wh— what are you doing?""We'll leave this place.""What?" Mrs. Elizalde asks. "Why so sudden?""I'll explain it to you later but for now, we need to leave this place and hide far away from this realm," Mr. Elizalde says."W-where are we going?"The man stops for a while, then he turns to face his wife."To the human world.""Dad, what's this about?" Heli asks his father once he enters its office. He sees him slumped on his bed, tired eyes gazing straight at him."Sit here, Iverson," the old man says, beckoning the aforementioned man to sit on the chair beside his bed.Heli did as he was told, "So? What are we going to talk about?""You knew about what happened to your mate, right?"Heli stiffens for a moment at the mention of his mate. It took him a few seconds before he regained his composure. They don't usually talk about his lost mate ever since they were told about the broken prophecy. The result of his mate running away. And so with a blank expression, he nodded his head. "What about her?""We already know where she is."The young man sat straight on his seat as he leaned closer to his father, "What? When did you find out? Where is she? What is she doing?""Hey, hey. Calm down, young man. Let me finish first."Heli takes several deep breaths before nodding his head as a sign for his father to conti
"One Caramel Macchiato for Al!"Alanis stands up from her chair, walking straight towards the counter upon hearing her name getting called along with her order. She heads out of the coffee shop once she gets it and hurries her way towards their university. She ignores the drowsiness she's feeling as she sips on her coffee. There was a party last night that was hosted by one of her friends and although she didn't have any hangover, she could still feel the aftereffect of the party. It ended at four a.m. and so she thinks it's just understable why she woke up a bit late than usual. She feels lightheaded as she makes her way through the university. She's just grateful she can still think straight even despite the sleepiness. The coffee isn't helping at all.She still had half an hour before her first class started so she decided to relax on one of the nearby benches in her department. There weren't many people walking around in that place which she's grateful for because she couldn't han
Alanis rolls her eyes when she hears for the nth time the news about these four handsome transferees along with a very beautiful girl in their university. She knew who they were talking about and she couldn't deny why they're the talk of the town, but it's starting to irritate her.Though she can't blame them because she herself was mesmerized when she first saw Heli. It's been three days already since she bumped into Heli and met his friends yet they were still the talk of the campus. She never saw them again since that day. And if Alanis didn't know better, she would've thought they were popular artists. It would've been fine if she doesn't hear it every second and everywhere she goes.Like in the hallway, classroom, even the cafeteria. And now, even her friends were talking about it again."I want to see them too! But their building is far from ours," Lyle, one of Alanis' friends says while pouting."Really? What department are they?" Alanis asks, joining their conversation about
Alanis keeps on staring at the wall clock of their room, waiting for her last class to end. Her seatmates were getting annoyed with how much she stomps her feet on the floor. Thankfully, the professor didn't hear it.A series of collective groans resonated across the four corners of the room when they heard the alarm of their professor, indicating that her class had ended. The professor raises an eyebrow after hearing the groans of the students. She chose to ignore it, bidding goodbye instead. Alanis hurriedly gathered her things inside her bag and then she sprinted out of the room while taking out her phone to message someone.[Alanis: Max, I'm on my way to the gate.][Max: Take your time, pretty.]If Alanis cringes at the pet name, she doesn't show it. She just hid the phone back in the pocket of her denim blazer before speed walking on the crowded hallway. She pushed her way inside the elevator, not minding how packed it was. She'd rather endure it than to climb down three flight
