I want to cheat too

Tabitha felt lonely as she stood in a spot, looking around and wondering what to do. She considered calling her friend, but before she could retrieve her phone, she heard her name and looked up.

The mixture of different coloured lights made it challenging to see for someone unaccustomed to them. Yet, the familiar voice that called her seemed to be Sarefina, implying her friend could spot her amidst the colourful club lights.

Sparing Tabitha from looking lost for too long, Sarafina skillfully navigated through the crowd to meet her.

Soon after, Tabitha found herself seated with Sarafina's party. Moments later, the crowd dispersed to the dance floor.

As everyone grooved to the music, a man in the same party Sarafina was invited to approached Tabitha, extending an invitation to join him at the counter for a drink.

The man offered Tabitha several glasses of strong alcohol to which she didn't refuse.

Tabitha needed to take her mind off the things that had happened in her life today, and getting under the influence helped, even if it was only temporary until she became somber again. But at least, she'd not feel too down for a while.

As she continued to drink, Tabitha didn't notice what the man who brought her to drink was up to. Suddenly, she felt someone else's presence close to her and turned her dizzy head to look at who it was.

Her emerald eyes met his gray eyes.

Tabitha wasn't even sure if his eyes were gray, but they were intently looking at her, and she smiled. A smile that showed the mood she was in and the intoxicated state she was entering.

"What were you trying to do?" Silas asked the man sitting with Tabitha.

The man didn't respond and had a frown on his face that showed immense displeasure to someone suddenly butting in as he stared at Silas.

"And who are you?" asked the man.

Silas didn't have to speak much; his assistant, who followed him, entered the scene and carried the man away so that his boss could have quality time with the woman he had spent his precious time to find.

Silas then sat on a high stool after pulling it closer to Tabitha. With a gentle smile on his face, Silas turned to look at Tabitha and spoke.

"Just as I thought, my mate is beautiful," said Silas.

Tabitha ignored Silas because she was feeling a little too lazy to speak. She only listened.

She wasn't quite in the mood nor state to chat. This was how it had also been with the man who had invited her for a drink. She largely listened, said a few words here and there that barely made a conversation, and mostly drank the drink the man kept offering her.

Silas took Tabitha's hand and took the wine glass from her.

Tabitha turned to face him with a pout.

"Do you hate me too?" she asked softly, her voice sounding a little silly from being under the influence.

Silas shook his head with a calm smile.

"No, I don't. I'll never hate you," Silas replied.

"Why did you stop me from drinking then?" Tabitha asked, tears already bubbling in her eyes.

"Because I don't want you to get drunk, and it will be much better if you share your pain with someone. I care," Silas said, maintaining the same calm, leveled tone as he spoke to Tabitha.

Tabitha met Silas's eyes for a while, but then she looked away and directly grabbed the wine bottle beside her to drink.

Silas watched Tabitha and wondered what must have happened to make her feel this low.

He didn't know what had happened to his mate for her to feel such intense hidden sadness and pain that she tried to forcefully bury. He wanted to get involved, and it seemed like the wolf in him felt the same.

"Stop drinking, mate," Silas took the bottle from Tabitha and placed it aside.

Seeing as Tabitha still had her eyes on the bottle and drink he had taken from her hands, he further pushed them away to a level she wouldn't be able to easily reach.

"Don't bottle it alone, dear. Just share everything with me." Pushing the bottle of alcohol to his side, Silas said.

"Why would you be interested in my problems? Don't you have your problems?" Tabitha said, her eyes dropping as her voice sounded silly, influenced by the alcohol she had consumed.

"My problems? Anything that happens to be your problem is mine, mate," Silas then carefully brought his stool even closer to his mate.

Silas turned to look at Tabitha, bringing his head closer and whispered while placing his hand on his mate's shoulder. "Tell me, what's the cause of your sadness?"

Tabitha glanced at him with eyes that showed weakness, and then she teared up.

"I'm not okay," Tabitha burst out. Silas's calm demeanor, his evident desire to hear what had happened to her, and the alcohol that had affected her made Tabitha further vulnerable.

"I know you are not okay, and it bothers me a lot. I want to ease your pain," Silas then brought his hand to Tabitha's hand, and his mate didn't push him away. Perhaps she didn't care or didn't bother, or maybe it was because she felt Silas's concern for her, which made his actions comforting.

"I'm here for you," Silas assured his mate with a gentle smile.

"I hate everything," Tabitha continued with a pout.

"I hate my mom, my dad, my sister, and my fiance—he's my ex now. Can you believe he said I don't have anything he wants in a woman? Tell me, Mister, am I not beautiful? Do I look that ugly? Why am I not enough for him?"

The more Tabitha spoke, the more she shared her mind and truest thoughts. It was unknown if it was because of the alcohol or maybe it was because Silas just made her feel comfortable around him.

"Because he's a jerk. You're saying he abandoned you?" Silas carefully asked because, based on what he had just heard, he knew this was a sensitive topic and likely the reason for his mate's depressed state.

Sadness washed through Silas's heart when he found out that his mate had a fiance.

What if her fiance had loved her unconditionally? They'd have gotten married, and he, Silas, would never find his mate unless the moon goddess granted him another mate.

At first glance, Silas already liked this beautiful lady beside him, and he didn't want another mate; he wanted her.

It wasn't just her beauty that made him want her; he just wanted her. She was his mate—the mate he had been waiting and searching for.

"Yes, I agree, he's a jerk," Tabitha nodded and spoke again.

"I saw him kiss my sister. She isn't even my sister, Mister," Tabitha's expression darkened again, tears streaming from her beautiful emerald green eyes.

Silas moved closer to his mate and held her face.

"I can offer a shoulder to cry on if you want it," Silas said.

"What's your name, Mister?" Tabitha asked, her head already falling because she was drunk, but Silas was holding her face so he could maintain the balance of her head on her neck.

"I am Silas Graham, and you, my mate?" When Silas realized that he didn't even know his mate's name, he felt like hitting his head. He had really just been calling her "mate" for the last few minutes.

"Ta–bi–tha Jones," Tabitha replied before a frown formed on her face.

Tabitha's eyes wandered around like she'd fall anytime soon as she spoke again.

"Jones isn't my real family name, but I'll accept it as my official name," Tabitha said, feeling a bit weak to even sit properly.

"Tabitha, you must hear this," Silas said in a slightly husky tone. Tabitha's sleepy eyes lit up for a moment as her gaze subconsciously moved to look at his lips.

"You are beautiful. You are a gorgeous woman to me," Silas stated.

Hearing his words, a wide smile curled up on Tabitha's lips.

"I like that I'm beautiful, I know," Tabitha said.

"He is a jerk for dumping you!" Silas then said again with a serious expression on his face as his hand remained on Tabitha's face, which she rested on.

"You know," Tabitha started with a hiccup before continuing.

"He cheated on me, you know. I saw him kiss my sister, Silas. I felt so sad and hurt. It felt so difficult for me to breathe, and I wished that I could die. It's so painful. I wish I could get my revenge, but I'm just a nobody. He said so. She said so, and I feel they're right. I'm indeed a nobody."

"Perhaps if I wasn't, they wouldn't have betrayed me behind and felt no remorse after getting caught. Instead, they made it feel like they were in the right, and I was the greedy one looking for something I never deserved. Perhaps they're right."

Tabitha fell onto Silas's body because of her drunkenness.

The more Tabitha spoke, the more pain he felt in his chest. Silas clenched his teeth, thinking about what he was going to do to the people who hurt his mate. They'll pay threefold for what they did to make his mate depressed.

"Mister," Tabitha called as she rested her head on Silas's chest.

"I want to cheat too," Tabitha said. "If he can cheat, why can't I do the same?" She asked.

Even from her tone, Silas could tell how devastated his mate was.

Suddenly, she sat up and looked at Silas. "Silas," she pointed at him. Silas wasn't holding her face anymore. "You are gorgeous too," she smiled. "I love your long hair. I've always wanted a man with long hair, but that jerk refused to grow his hair for me," she pouted.

Tabitha's face was red, and her eyes looked swollen. She must have cried a lot. However, this didn't even diminish her beauty.

Silas really wondered how blind her ex must have been.

Silas felt sick because he wanted to instantly hurt those who caused his mate this much pain, but when he stood up, Tabitha suddenly grabbed his hand, pulled him to sit. Before Silas could reply, she leaned in and kissed him.

"He kissed my sister like this. I want to try it with a man as handsome as you, Silas," Tabitha said with her eyes half-closed.
