Protocols were now being duly observed. Raymond and his accompanies were not allowed in until Reyes came out to them.
He waved at them to come over.
"I'm sorry for the delay. Everything has changed since the attempt on the Mayor's life" he apologized as they walked over to him.
They all walked together into the living room to meet Mayor Mount where he was comfortably seated.
"Raymond, Grace" he smiled to welcome them.
"And you, your face looks familiar" he pointed at Laura.
Raymond was a little bit afraid. He wished Mayor Mount had not remembered when she tried to kill him.
"We met at their base" Laura said slowly.
"Yeah, I remember. You are that little girl that was in their base. You know I forgot what you were doing there that day" Mayor Mount seemed to have really forgotten. He was visibly trying to recollect.
"Actually, we are here because of her" Grace broke in suddenly. She was going straight to the point.
The computers pinged as Grace had said. Laura had been waiting for some time to hear that. She couldn't believe it at first. The pinging was not that loud but it was noticeable. She dashed over to the ammunition side and picked up the sword. She started feeling weird. She felt like she couldn't do this anymore. She stood there in front of the weapon. She wanted to take more than just a sword. But it would be useless to take what she wouldn't use. The computer pinged again. Time was going. She wanted to go but she was very much in need of a little push.Maybe she could just make a call to Grace. She would be helpful. They had become something like best friends. She hurried to get her and make the call. Time was no longer on her side. The call took like eternity to get connected, maybe that was because she was calling from an underground."Laura?" Grace said excitedly. There was nothing funny about this. It was damn serious but she had
"You should feel better now" Raymond put the cup back on the table smiling."You mean the wine is good?" Grace asked, she was pretending she didn't know what he was talking about."No. Not the wine. I am talking about the daughter of the city" he had opened up straight, she wouldn't have a chance of turning his words around anymore."She's good, but her judgement is somehow different from mine" she complained a bit."Two different people can't do the same thing same way. There will always be a slight difference" he explained."I have nothing against her but I'm just thinking operating like this. The Mayour won't be able to back her" she was right about that."She doesn't want it too. And this evil people give more respect to harsh treatment like such" he added."I'm sure we are not here to talk about the daughter of the city" she was becoming boring with their conversation. She stared at her cup weirdly. They had come out to a
Raymond grew tired on his workout but he continued despite that. This was not the time to stop. He should be hard on himself to have a favorable fast and desired result. He wanted six packs, he had gotten that already with a body fit enough to win the men’s fitness award. He believed he could still be better. He switched between push ups, crouches and some kegels. He didn’t want to leave any part behind. He must be fit all over.Raymond wasn’t a lover of exercises or a man determined to have a great physique some years back but a lot can change fast and easy especially when someone met the love of his life. This was what happened to Raymond. Since he had met Grace, he became a new man, a man with one goal. Grace must be happy. He was ready to give her all she wished.Grace loved him as well. They were both high school dropouts with low income, meagre income to be candid. Their financial status didn’t hinder
Raymond was stunned a bit about what she just said. He wondered where all that came from. She just woke up and got off bed. He remembered the six seven figure income part from her speech. He correlated that with the five hundred thousand dollar wedding. He nodded his head in realization of something he took to be a fact.He remembered all those billionaire CEO romance novels. There was a reason writers wrote that in abundance. It was close to reality. He watched her back as she was going. She was funny, that might be to him alone. Smiles formed on his face. He was overwhelmed by how great of a beauty she was. She stepped on the door weakly like the floor would feel hurt if she walked harder. Her bum was little, something he always used to tease her, but her tiny body and tinier waste made her shape adoring. Raymond always felt he could never had enough of her. He didn’t wish to have enough of her. His only wish was her happi
Mr. Jude walked around in his office. He was restless. He had made the right decision, he tried consoling himself. He couldn’t understand why he was feeling like this. He should be happy instead. This was something that needed to be done.Anything not useful should be discarded. He checked the time, he was expecting something. That someone had kept him waiting.Helen came in and gave him a typewritten letter.Helen was his secretary. She seemed to be nervous. He checked the letter. He wrinkled his face and continued reading.“What is this” he stretched the letter back to her. Helen was confused. She must be busy in her mind trying to decide whether to take it from him. She stretched out her hand to take it but held it back immediately.“The letter you requested, the letter you asked me to type” Helen managed to process. She was jolting. Mr. Jude was not surprised. H
Todd had only a couple of pace to cover before he would be back at the door.“Good morning,Mr Phillips” Mr. Jude roared. Todd was frightened. He rushed forward to Mr. Jude desk.“Good morning, sir” Todd greeted. He was panting. Mr. Jude must have been surprised seeing him acting like that. He looked at him weirdly for some seconds.“Sit down, please” Mr. Jude was polite. He didn’t always try to be polite. There must definitely be a reason for this kind gesture. Todd sat down quietly, trying not to be forward. Mr. Jude searched for something. His face relaxed as he found it. It was a letter envelope. He gave it to Todd. There were only few reasons for a letter like this. Most of the time, it used to be a research assistance from another facility and Todd being a disposable employee, not liked by his boss. He always received that. But this was no research
Stephanie left the cart and Florence there where they stood. That was what she would do. Of course that was the best thing to do. Florence was obviously surprised by her sudden step of action. She definitely didn’t know what she was up to.“Sweetheart, take it easy” Florence tried to calm her. Her voice sounded sympathetic amidst fear. It seemed she felt Stephanie would hurt herself.“It’s okay” Stephanie replied without hesitating. She continued to the exit. She was planning how she would carry out her intentions in her head.An hour later, she stood in front of her house. She looked impatient. She was waiting for someone. She moved back and forth trying to make the time faster. Waiting, that was one of the things she hated most. She was about putting her phone to her ear when a car zoomed towards her direction. She heaved a sigh of relief. The car packed right in front of her. The driver wound the windo
Todd kept thinking about his wife, what to tell her. Honestly he was tired of the marriage but he was unsure maybe to let go. Maybe marriage was not for everyone. He would try listening to her today. Maybe they could heal their ailing marriage.Everything was his fault. His wife had no problem. She had also endured him and his irresponsibility for much time. He knew all this before. He just didn’t want to believe it. Now, that he was sacked, it was like the part of his brain that was blindfolded had been shown light. He made up his mind. He would correct all his mistakes. He would allow her to hurl any abusive word she wanted at him. He would have a happy home. Damn him, why couldn’t he think like this sometimes ago.As from now on,he would be caring. He would do her wish, only her wish. She would be the boss. He would become his servant. He continued thinking and his mind grew in joy. He rubbed his head. If he could be happy by just thin
