Meeting Him Again

***Audrey's POV***

My mom was taken home from the hospital. This was because we couldn't afford the bills the doctor mentioned. This was out of the blue, and I was still in school.

I am 20 years old, and I don't have a proper job going. Omegas can live a comfortable life though, we can't be given a proper job that can actually fetch us good money.

The only reason why my parents were able to afford it was because they were actually healers.

My mom has woken up, but she isn't feeling any better. I had to force Dan to school, so he could focus on writing his forthcoming exams. As for me. There's nothing like writing exams for me. I have dedicated my time to taking care of my mom.

I watched her day and night to make sure that she's okay. But I was scared because she wasn't healing. No matter the different healing methods I used, my mom still wasn't feeling better. I was exhausted and scared. The fact that I might lose my mom was imminent and that scared me to death because my dad wasn't here anymore.

After two weeks passed, things got worse. It seemed as though the moon goddess hated me for reasons I couldn't tell. No matter how much I tried to understand the situation, I just couldn't come to terms with it.

It was a weekend and my brother and I stayed by our mom's side as usual. Just then, mom called out to me and my brother with strain in her voice.

“Audrey, Daniel, please come forward, I don't think I'll be able to last until the next day.”

“Mom, what are you talking about? I asked with great panic. I hate to see my mom this way.

“Listen, I'll tell you a story. In my lineage, there's a necklace with a red pendant which is passed down to the firstborn daughters of my family. Whoever wields the necklace with a red pendant can have the power to reverse time. But then, if you reverse time, there can be good and bad consequences. Nevertheless, this pendant will save you when you need help the most. For this reason, you must never let go of the pendant, no matter what happens. Do you understand, Audrey?”

“B… but mom, why don't we use the pendant to reverse the accident that occurred, mom. You don't have to die,” I burst into tears.

My mom, who was also crying, shook her head.

“It is too late, my child. Destiny must be fulfilled. You must take good care of yourself and your brother, Audrey. You have a great destiny ahead of you, so do not despair. I'm sad to leave you both alone, but I must go,” with that my mom breathed her last breath.

“No!” I screamed out in pain.

“Mom! Please wake up …” Daniel cried out as well.

“I need two hot dogs and a coffee please,” a female customer with blonde hair ordered.

“Hold on, please,” I quickly wrote down the order, and so I did with other customers before taking down the list to the counter.

It's been a month ever since the death of my mom, and ever since then, it's been hard living the life of an adult with a 16-year-old brother to take care of.

After I was done for the day, I decided to go to my boss's office to give him the record of daily sales which I had made. The sales for the day. Will determine how much I'll be paid.

Just as I got to his office, I stretched out my hands to knock on it, but strangely, I heard my boss's voice from inside his office.

“Don't you think the amount is too small? She's 20 years old, and I'm so sure she can serve well in bed.”

I creased my brow in a frown, wondering what my boss was talking about so seriously. And what is this I hear about him wanting to sell someone good in bed. Could my ears be deceiving me at this moment?

“Okay, why not make it 200 thousand dollars. I'm certain that Audrey is worth that much. She recently became an orphan, so I'm sure she'll accept this offer and do whatever is asked of her.”

The moment the words left my boss's lips, I stood dead in my tracks. I could hardly believe my ears.

In annoyance, I stormed into his office.

“What? While I'm working tirelessly for you in your restaurant, you dare bargain with someone to sell me off for measly bucks?”

“Don't get mad at me now, Audrey, I'm only doing this for your sake. I know just how much you need help, and I'm willing to help you. Don't you think this is fair enough for a lowly omega like you?”

“Well. Why don't you shove that help down your throat, bastard!”

“What?” He asked in surprise.

“You know what? I'd rather sell myself on my terms than let a bastard like you sell me off when you pay me nothing but peanuts in your damn restaurant!”

Immediately, I pulled off the apron I was wearing and tossed it at him in annoyance. I turned on my heels and stormed out of the room.

“Audrey, come back here! You're losing out on a great opportunity!”

I covered both ears with my palms and ran out of the restaurant with tears in my eyes.

My life was truly a mess. My parent's death had taken a great toll on me, and everyone seemed to trample on me for the fact that I've become an orphan.

Without a care of where I was headed, I walked into a bar, or so I thought. It was dark outside, and I didn't feel the need to go back home. I just wanted to get drunk for the first time. With the little bucks I had, I ordered a drink.

“Lady, you must be up to 18, I mean this is a club for adults.”

“Oh, is that so?” I looked around me and saw ladies and men dancing and making out, and it was then I realized that I was actually in a club. But who cares, whether I'm at a club or at a pub, it still doesn't change the way I feel.

“I'm 20 and here is the confirmation,” I took out my identification tag and placed it on the table. After looking at it thoroughly, he served me drinks.

I drank for close to an hour and noticed I was beginning to get quite dizzy. I never knew being drunk could be this fun.

“Get me a glass of whiskey,” a cold and deep voice says. I shook my head as his voice sent shivers down my spine. What the hell was that?

I looked up at the stranger, only to be met with a pair of green eyes. Hold on a minute, though I'm quite drunk, that doesn't make me unaware of my environment.

He looked so familiar, like I've seen him before.

“Hey.”
