Kathrine’s Point of View
The sun shone through Kathrine’s bedroom window. She squints her eyes, wishing that she could turn out the sun. She stretched and let out a loud moan wondering why her head was feeling like splitting in two. Turning her head slowly to the right she saw the time. Twenty past eight. She turned her head back to face the roof. Closing her eyes. Her eyes widened and stared back at the clock.
Kathrine climbed out of bed, clenching her head to ease the pain, “Shit, my head! What happened last night?” She looked at the time again, “Shit. Shit. Shit! I’m late! I’m past fucking late!!”
Grabbing clothes from her closet and put them on as she made her way to the kitchen. Almost falling to the ground, she grabbed her laptop and was out the door. She had to take the stairs because the apartment building’s elevator was broken. It had been for a few years now.
Kathrine made her way to the main door and stormed out. Standing on the side of the road trying to get a cab. After five minutes of trying a cab finally pulled over. Climbing in she took a big breath before speaking. “Hundred sixth avenue, please. And hurry!”
The cab pulled away. Kathrine was finally on her way to work. She checked her watch to see it was almost nine a.m. “Shit.” She muttered and she leaned back her head, her headache slowly dissipating, then stared out of the window. “I am so fired.” She whispered to herself.
The cab pulled up to the curb and Kathrine paid him and rushed into the building. Arriving at the office she quickly rushed to her cubicle. She took out her laptop and instantly pretended to be working the entire morning.
“Kathrine, my office. Now.” Alice ordered Kathrine.
“Yes, Alice.” Kathrine slowly stood up and made her way out of her office cubicle. All eyes were on her. She kept her head down, knowing what was coming.
Kathrine entered Alice’s office; Alice stood staring out of her office window. “Close the door,” Alice said. Kathrine did as she was told.
“I was…” Alice cut her off mid-sentence.
“Stop. Why were you late?” Alice asked still staring out of the window.
“Well… I…” Kathrine stuttered. Struggling to find an explanation.
“You’re fired,” Alice said with a cold tone.
“No, please I need this job.” Kathrine pleaded.
“Get out now. This conversation is done.” Alice said while turning around and started fixing her papers on her desk, she noticed Kathrine still standing in her office. “Why are you still here? Out of my office now.” Her tone was cold and unpleasant.
Kathrine nodded and turned around and left Alice’s office. Her mouth hung open a bit. The shock of her losing her job made her want to burst into tears. She made her way to her desk and started packing everything into a cardboard box.
“So sad to see you leave. What a pity.” Anna said with a sarcastic tone, as she leaned over her cubicle that was right next to Kathrine’s.
Kathrine didn’t say a word just thinking ‘you bitch´ and continued packing her things. After finishing she picked up the box and her laptop bag and made her way to the elevator. Pressing the ground button, she stared at everyone in the office, holding her head high and thinking ‘fuck you, and mostly you Anna’ as the elevator doors closed.
The elevator reached the ground floor and Kathrine walked out, slowly. She stood on the curb of the road and tried calling a cab. As soon as a cab pulled up, she climbed in and gave her home address and the cab drove off. Kathrine stared at the building that she used to call her work. A tear slowly rolled down her cheek.
When they arrived at the apartment building, she paid the cab driver and made her way to her apartment. She placed her stuff on her counter and went to her room. Falling onto her bed before bursting into tears.
Her phone started to buzz. She saw the caller ID ‘Dylan’ her best friend of five years. Kathrine ignored it at first, but as it kept ringing, she answered, and Dylan instantly started to speak.
“Dude! Have you heard about this amazing club in town?” Dylan asked with a high-pitched tone.
“No, what club? I don’t want to hear about any more clubs right now. There are about a hundred of them.” Kathrine replied with a flat tone in her voice.
“What the fuck girl? Have you been crying?” Dylan asked with confusion.
“I lost my job this morning. Because I was late. I overslept because you decided to drag me to a club you heard about.” Kathrine’s said the irritation.
“I’m coming over after work to talk about this. And then you can tell me all about it while we can get dressed and look stunning tonight. Maybe we can find you a rich man. Then you will never have to work a day in your life again.” Dylan said with excitement.
“Fine, but you owe me, and for finding a man, not going to happen. But I could use a drink after the day I had.” She said while placing her hand on her head.
“Great! I'll be there when I am done with work. See you later!” Dylan said before disconnecting the call not giving Kathrine a chance to say anything else.
“Great,” Kathrine whispered to herself, then letting her phone fall onto her bed. She pulled the bed covers over her head and let out a loud sigh.

Late afternoon, Kathrine climbed out of bed and made her way to the kitchen. She opened the fridge and scanned the shelves for something to eat. She spotted some leftover pizza from two nights back. Taking out the pizza box, she opened it and gave it a big whiff.
“Still good.” She muttered and placed the box on the counter and grabbed a plate out of the cupboard.
Taking two slices and throwing them onto the plate, she placed them in the microwave and set the timer. She leaned against the counter and waited for her pizza to warm up. Then there was a knock on her door. She made her way to the door and looked through the peephole, Dylan was standing outside her door.
As she opened the door Dylan rushed in and threw some dresses onto Kathrine’s kitchen table.
“Okay, my sweet nugget. We are going to look amazing tonight.” Dylan said with a big smile on her face before turning serious. “But first, tell me what the hell did you do to yourself last night by getting drunk so quickly?”
“Hello to you too,” Kathrine said sarcastically.
“Yeah, yeah.” Dylan started organizing the dresses. Then her nose went into the air. “Is that pizza? Fuck, I haven’t eaten all day.” She said and made her way to the microwave and opened it, then took a slice. “Mm…” She muttered.
“That’s…” Before Kathrine could stop her, she already stuffed her face. “Mine.”
“Okay, back to business, what happened last night? Never saw you ever get that drunk that quickly.” Dylan spoke with her mouth full of pizza.
“I don’t know, I was only on my second drink. Maybe it was stronger than I thought. Let’s just leave it at that. Anyways, I’ll take it slow tonight.” Kathrine said her eyes fixed on the table.
“Okay, fine.” She said resigned. “Anyways, I was thinking, this cute little red number will look so stunning on you, or maybe this black one. What do you think?” She said while holding the two dresses in the air.
“Sweetie, I don’t know if I want to go anymore. I need to start my job search…” Before Kathrine could continue, Dylan interrupted her.
“No! We are going out tonight. By the way, your boss was a bitch, and you know it. Maybe it was a sign that you should have left a long time ago.”
“Dylan…” Kathrine started to speak before being interrupted again.
“No! We are not talking about your work again tonight, but going out tonight instead and you are going to forget about everything and have ourselves a good time. Okay?” Dylan said with a serious expression on her face.
“Fine! I’ll go. But just this one time.” Kathrine grumbled, grabbing the other slice of pizza and stuffing it in her mouth before Dylan could lay her hands on it too.
“Yes! We are going to have such an amazing time.” Dylan said while jumping up and down. “Come on we need to get ready.”

Kathrine quickly jumped into the shower, to get herself cleaned up. She started by washing her hair and going down to her body. There was music playing in the background as she was in the shower. Dylan decided to put on the boombox and place some of their favorite songs. Just to get them pumped up for the night.
By the time they got dressed, Kathrine had decided on the black dress that Dylan had brought with her. She also wore some black heels to match. Dylan wore the red dress and also decided to go with black heels. Their make-up was done to perfection to match their night vibes and they wore their hair down.
Now they were ready to take on the nightlife. They headed downstairs and called a cab. They instructed the driver to take them to the Medusa Lounge.
On their arrival at the club. They were flabbergasted by the sight of the club. Their mouths hung open. The place was covered with lights and lights were flashing from the inside. They stared at each other.
“Something tells me we need a reservation,” Kathrine said then placed her thumbnail in her mouth.
“I’m sure we will be able to get in,” Dylan said with hesitation.
“Yeah, I’m sure we will be able to,” Kathrine said with sarcasm.
As they headed for the line at the club, they were a bit nervous, but put on their biggest and brightest smiles, shoulders back.
Kathrine and Dylan made their way to the door. A lot of people were trying to get into the club. Kathrine was starting to get worried that they might never get in.
“Dylan, maybe we should go to another club. I don’t want to stand in this line the entire night, and maybe not even be able to get in.” Kathrine said with sadness.
“No! We’re getting in. I’m going to make sure of that.” Dylan said with determination. She grabbed Kathrine’s arm and led her to the bodyguards standing in the doorway.
These men were huge. Fully tattooed. Their arms were covered in black ink. Kathrine spotted a lot of skulls on the one man's arm. These men were to make sure no one was coming in to make trouble.
“Hey, there handsome. You don’t mind if we cut the line?” Dylan smiled brightly, and started flirting with the one man on the right. Kathrine just stood there with an awkward smile hoping this man wasn’t about to pick her up and throw her onto the sidewalk.
“Sorry ma’am. Back of the line.” The man said not making eye contact.
“Oh, come on? Just us two. We promise to behave.” Dylan said smiling mischievously, then Kathrine grabbed her by the arm and whispered.
“Come on, let’s just go. We’ll find another club.”
“No, I said I will get us in, and I will,” Dylan whispered, before turning her attention back to the man. Before Dylan could say anything else a young, good-looking man with blond hair stood in the door between the two bodyguards.
“Well, hello there. Aren’t you something to look at?” The man said with a seductive tone.
Kathrine’s Point of ViewDylan turned to Kathrine and whispered. “Watch this.” She turned back to face the attractive man. “Hi there. We would have joined you for a drink, but these two nice men won’t let us in.”“Don’t worry. We will have that drink my dear.” He winked at Dylan. “Hey, man they're cool. They can come in.”“Ladies.” The bodyguard stepped to the side and let them pass.“See, I told you I will get us in,” Dylan whispered to Kathrine. Kathrine just gave her a smile.“Do you ladies want something to drink?” The man asked while placing his hand on Dylan’s arm.“Sure, we’ll have a double vodka and Sprite,” Dylan replied with a seductive smile.“Coming right up.” The man made his way to the bar.Kathrine looked at Dylan with a surprised expression. “Dude, I can’t believe we made it in. I need to admit your flirting skills are just… Wow! Amazingly done.”“I know. I'm just that good. We get our drink and then we hit the dance floor.” Dylan said before she heard the voice of the
Andrew’s Point of ViewAndrew watched as Kathrine left the club. He couldn’t stop staring at her ass. Anthony moved closer to him so that he was also able to see the view of Dylan.“That blonde is crazy and wild. Something that I crave.” Anthony said before taking a sip of his drink.“Yeah,” Andrew replied, then he made his way to his feet.“Andrew?” Anthony said as Andrew made his way to the door. When Andrew walked out of the club, he saw Kathrine and Dylan climb into a cab on their way home. He stared for a moment when Anthony stood next to him.“Fuck, man. I was on a vibe.” Anthony said with his hands on his head.“Get in the car, we’re going home,” Andrew said, walking towards his car.“Oh, come on. It’s still packed in there.” Anthony said with his arms in the air.“That wasn’t a question. You can get in the car, or you can walk.”“Fine!” Anthony rushed to the car and jumped in.***Andrew started the car and pulled out of the parking. He started to accelerate until the car reac
Dylan’s Point of ViewWhen the cab came to a stop Dylan swung open the door and puked on the sidewalk. Kathrine held her hair back making sure she didn’t ruin her hair. She just kept apologizing to the cab driver. Kathrine then helped Dylan out of the cab and led the way into her apartment building to her floor.“I don’t think you need to drive home in this condition,” Kathrine said with sympathy.“Yeah, I will just crash on your couch,” Dylan replied while swinging back and forth.“Sure,” Kathrine replied while unlocking her apartment.Kathrine opened the door and led Dylan inside. Dylan spotted the couch and fell onto it face-first. She let out a loud sigh before turning over to face the roof. Scooting up she leaned against the backrest of the couch. She stared at Kathrine with loamy eyes.“He’s into you,” Dylan said with a big smile stretching from one ear to the other.“You’re drunk, you need to get some sleep,” Kathrine said while handing her a blanket.“You know I’m right. Maybe
Andrew’s Point of ViewAndrew made his way to his office where two men were waiting for him. Upon entering the men made their way to their feet and straightened their jackets. One of the men reached out his hand to shake Andrew’s, “Andrew nice to see you again, and thank you once again for meeting us. By the way, this is my son, Carlo.” Andrew shook his hand and greeted his son also with a handshake.Andrew then nodded before speaking, “Gentlemen, welcome. It is my pleasure.” Andrew greeted then made his way around his table and sat down, then gestured the two men to sit as well. “For what do I owe for this lovely meeting?”“Well, we here to submit a proposal.” The older man said while he crossed his left leg over his right.“A proposal? What kind of proposal, John?” Andrew asked with concern, while he sat straight in his chair.“A proposal for us to join forces. You and I both know that this would be the best decision going forward.” John said, then he placed his hands on his knees.
Kathrine’s Point of ViewWhile she enjoyed the breakfast that Dylan had made for her. Her mind started to think about the offer that Andrew had given her. She started to wonder if she should take him up on it. Kathrine needed to get some sort of income to be able to keep a roof over her head. After she had finished her food, she quickly jumped into the shower. The steam of the warm water started to fill the bathroom. Grabbing the scrunchy off the water tap she poured some shower gel onto it and started washing her stomach. She rinsed off her fit body and grabbed the shampoo bottle.Washing her long brown hair, that almost reached her butt. While rinsing off the shampoo she stood still and thought about all her life decisions.“What has become of my life? I’m not even able to keep a job, what will make this one any different?” Kathrine whispered to herself.Shaking her head to return to reality she turned off the shower and stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel. She wrapped it
Kathrine’s Point of ViewKathrine left the coffee shop, her mind swirling with the worry over the text she had sent. The night before Andrew offered her a job to be his floor manager at his club. This was a golden opportunity for her, an opportunity that could change her life. The worry of not being able to pay her bills hang heavily over her.But now, uncertainty crawled closer to her, wondering if the message that she had just sent to Andrew was a mistake, if the message had been too eager. Or worse if she had said something wrong. As she took the drive home in the cab, her thoughts started to consume her. Replaying the text message in her mind, analyzing every word she had typed. After the car ride, she finally reached her apartment building. Climbing out of the cab her phone started to buzz in her purse. She took out her phone and she froze for a few seconds for what she saw.Andrew’s name on her phone, her heart skipped a beat. She hoped for a positive response.Unlocking her pho
Andrew’s Point of ViewAndrew stared at the yellow cab as it drove away in the distance. Lost in thought, Andrew barely noticed when his friend Anthony tapped him on the shoulder. Startled, he turned to face him, his eyes still fixed on the spot where the cab had disappeared into the busy city streets.“Come on man,” Anthony said with a smile. “The night is still young.”Reluctantly, Andrew tore his gaze away from the street and followed Anthony back into the club. The loud and flashing lights seem to mock his sorrowful mood. As the night progressed and Anthony was dancing and drinking, Andrew couldn't stop thinking about Kathrine. The only thing keeping him at ease was the fact that he was going to see her again. Sooner than he would have thought.Andrew wasn’t in the mood to continue sitting at his club. He flung himself out of his seat and walked over to Anthony. “Hey, man. Are you going to be alright going home by yourself?” He asked calmly.“Yeah, I’m good. I’ll just call a cab o
Kathrine’s Point of ViewKathrine and Dylan sat side by side in the backseat of the cab, they sat close to each other. But their minds were filled with their own thoughts. The city lights flickered through the window, moving through the busy streets, on their way to Kathrine’s apartment. The weight of the day laid heavy on Kathrine’s shoulders. She leaned her head against Dylan’s shoulder, seeking a resting place. A soft sigh escaped Kathrine’s lips.“This day was just too long, to describe,” Kathrine said with a soft tone.“You can say that again. But hey look on the bright side, you’re not going to be homeless.” Dylan said with a smile.“Yeah, that is correct. I was worried that he was only doing that to get me to sleep with him. But I see I might have judged him too soon.” Kathrine replied, then sat up straight.“By the way, how are you holding up? Are you feeling a bit better?” Dylan asked with concern.“Actually, I am. Thank you, I needed this. I needed to get out and live my lif
