                                                                                 Sin's POV

Only a few more days... and I'd find out who my future mate would be

Well that's if she was at the ball on Saturday.

In 3 days I turned 18. And I'd be on the lookout for my Luna. My perfect, gorgeous mate. My queen.

My pack was the most powerful out of all of them.

My father was the Alpha king.

All the packs gathered every few months in order to discuss each other's situations.

But my father was head of all of them. If there was a major problem, he was there to sort it.

God I had to actually get up, if I laid here all morning just thinking of what she'd be like I'd be late for school.

I got up, had a shower and got dressed.

I made my way downstairs, I was staying in the packhouse for the week. I had my own house in the forest but mum and dad wanted me close by seeing as it's so close to me finding my mate.

All the wolves staying in the packhouse were already in the hall eating breakfast.

"Morning honey" my mum called out to me, she was sat by my dad as maids bustled around serving more food. He was the alpha of this pack so naturally he sat at the head of the table. A strong man but with a lot of heart.

I gave her a smile and a kiss on the cheek, taking an apple from the table and hitting Toby upside the head on my way out

"Ow... you could just say we're leaving... no need for the abuse" he muttered, rubbing his head.

Toby was my brother. And quite frankly, a fucking idiot. He was a nerd when it came to science, but a complete goof overall.

"We're leaving" I said loudly, walking out the front door to my car.

Toby came out a few minutes later, getting in the car and mumbling to himself

"Shouldn't have to put up with this violence" he grumbled, making me chuckle.

"Why don't you get the bus then?" I asked, reversing out of the drive and heading for school.

Our town was mainly werewolves, as was the surrounding towns.

We didn't need some big kingdom to assert our power, my mother and father never really wanted extravagant things.

Our pack was huge, as was the town we reside in.

But we had only the best warriors and guards protecting our pack.

Our family was considered royal after all.

There was one school a few miles from our pack, it accommodated for 4 packs of kids, and the odd few humans, but they didn't know we existed, as far as they were concerned we were all humans. Even if half of our lot acted possessive or strangely when it came to mates.

"Well it's not THAT drastic" he replied, texting whoever on his phone rather than actually looking at me

We pulled into school and I parked.

"I'm staying late for physics so don't wait for me" Toby said, getting out of the car and walking off without so much as a goodbye.

I sighed

"Yeah... you're welcome for the ride" I grumbled, getting out myself and shutting the door with a thud.

As soon as I stepped out I was met with Tyler and Cory. My best friends. I'm never really sure why though. They're annoying most of the time.

Tyler Aldrich was my father's betas son. Soon to be my beta.

He was slightly older than me and had already found his mate in Lola peach.

Lola was from a pack up north, they'd met a few months ago at a ball and she moved in straight away.

They were always together, which was nice, but it always made me and Cory quite sad at the thought of not having our mates yet.

Cory Halton was going to be my gamma. He was more of a joker than Tyler... which was pretty hard to do.

He hadn't found his mate yet. But he was always hopeful that he'd find him

"Hey" Tyler greeted, his arm slung around Lola as she cuddled into his side.

We'll have that soon... and we'll never let our mate go

I nodded in my head at my wolf's words

My wolf was named Kade, he had black fur, black eyes and he'd been restless these past few days.

"Hey" I said, looking around at the people walking into school

Anyone of these girls could turn out to be my precious luna.

"Scoping out the skirt?" Cory teased

"The skirt? Since when were we living in the fifties?" Tyler laughed

"Well what do you call chicks?" Cory asked with crossed arms.

"I don't 'call chicks', I have a beautiful mate to focus on" Tyler said softly, pulling Lola into his side and planting a kiss to her head.

"Shut up" I said, pulling my bag up on my shoulder, trying to focus on the people scurrying around the building

"He doesn't need to scope, we all know who he's looking for" Lola said, nudging Tyler in the side.

I groaned. I didn't need this shit so early in the morning.

"Mm... you seen the little Blossom yet?" Tyler laughed.

Fuck sake.

Blossom was a girl from the Blood Moon pack, her father was their former Alpha and her brother had taken over 4 years ago when he was 21.

She was small, and sweet. Her hair was always tied up in a ribbon and she was always reading... or doing work. She never really spoke to anyone. I'd only ever seen her with two people.

And I had to admit, I'd had a crush on her as soon as I'd laid eyes on her. But I always felt guilty in the back of my head.

Yes she was an alpha's daughter but that didn't mean she was guaranteed to be my mate.

There were two other packs near us and both had daughters.

And even then, my mate may be across the country somewhere like Lola was for Tyler and I might not even find her Saturday

We will find her, I can feel it

I ignored Kade and focused back on the three annoying wolves in front of me.

"No I haven't seen her. Wouldn't matter if I did" I grumbled

"Mm sure sure... so you don't want to see her small little body in a sundress?" Micah teased

Tyler scoffed

"You're aware you like boys right?" Lola asked

"Yeah, doesn't mean I don't appreciate a hot body when I see it" he shrugged, I'd had enough of this, so I walked off towards the double doors.

I didn't like admitting how much I stared or thought about Blossom. It was disrespectful to my mate to think about another girl.

My walk to the door was waylaid by one of the most annoying people on earth

Everyone normally avoided me, I was a future Alpha, king even.

Something people preferred to steer clear from.

But not when it comes to Lacey Danvers.

She was the daughter of Alpha Danvers, her older sister was going to be the Female-Alpha soon.

And it was obvious that Lacey here was very much counting on being my mate.

The thought alone sent a shiver down my back, she was annoying and whiny and the last person I wanted to be mated to.

"Hey Sin... you doing okay?" She asked, her hand gripping my arm as she swirled her red hair round her finger.

I pulled back slowly, not wanting to offend her but definitely not wanting to touch her.

"Fine" I said curtly, her face dropped slightly, but it was gone as quick as it had come

"Great... I uh- I got my dress for Saturday" she smiled, moving closer to me again.

I nodded, not really giving a shit

I moved around her, ignoring her annoying voice as I jogged up the steps, heading towards my locker.

And just as I got there, I caught that flash of chocolate, her soft dark wavy hair tied up in a black bow.

She had a sundress on. Jesus she nearly always had a dress on.

It hung just over her shoulders and I couldn't help but want to cover her.

Stop all the prying eyes of unmated males.

Who am I kidding? I was one of those prying eyes.

I turned around, trying to shake the thoughts of her away.

I gathered my stuff and made my way to the first lesson, shaking Cory's arm off my shoulder as they caught up to me.

                                                                           Blossom's POV

I woke up with a thick layer of sweat on my forehead

My wolf Kore had been restless these past few days.

I'd barely slept a wink before my sister came barging in, telling me we were going to be late.

Leaving the lights on, as well as my door wide open

I sighed, dragging myself out of bed and towards the bathroom.

I got showered and changed, tying my hair up in a ribbon and heading out to the driveway with Acacia, we lived in a relatively small house near the packhouse.

My brother Warren was the Alpha of our pack, he lived in his own house with his mate, or our Luna, Magnolia.

They'd found each other nearly 6 years ago now, they've been married for 4.

Warren had become our alpha at 21. He was fully trained and definitely capable of leading the pack, especially once he'd found Mags.

A year after he'd taken over our father, George had been killed in a Rogue attack. He fought proudly for our pack but it risked his life in the end.

My mother died of a broken heart a few months afterwards, she tried to put on a brave face but we all knew the loss of dad was killing her.

It's been 3 years since their deaths and I still miss them everyday.

Acacia was my younger sister, and mainly my responsibility seeing as Warren was always busy with pack business.

I'd only recently got my license so I was able to drive us to school now.

Beats the bus I suppose.

We pulled round to Quinn's house, she was my best friend, well probably one of the only friends I have.

Her and Micah anyway

Quinn normally got a lift with Sawyer but he was busy today

Sawyer was her mate, she'd found him a few months ago and they were always stuck at the hip.

He was training to become a pack guard, so he was required to take a few days off school every now and then for training.

Micah was 17, like me. So we hadn't even an inkling as to who our mates were yet. Unless you were 18 or your mate was 18, the bond was practically invisible.

We picked Micah up afterwards and made our way to school.

Micah and Quinn were my only friends. I was what you'd call one of the quiet unsociable, rather die than speak to a stranger kinda girl.

And many people often avoided me anyway as I was the highest ranking member and closest thing to my pack's Alpha at school.

Warren was 25 so he obviously wasn't at school anymore.

There were 3 other packs that shared our school.

There were the Danvers. Or the Red Crescent pack.

Which consisted of Lindsey, who was going to be the future Female- Alpha of her pack, and her sister Lacey.

Lacey was... a colourful character I would say.

She was often shouting and moaning about stuff, and she was quite... pink!

Which leads me to Sin Black, he was the future Alpha of the Blue Storm pack. Well the future king actually.

There was him and his younger brother Toby.

I frequently saw Lacey following after Sin. Seems like she really wanted his attention.

And lastly there were the Bolton's, of the purple creek pack

Matthew was the current Alpha, he was the oldest son and had taken charge around 8 years ago.

He had 5 younger siblings, 3 of which attended this school.

The only one that really seemed to bother me was Lincoln, he was the third oldest and apparently adamant that we were going to be mates.

He was annoying really. But I always tried to decline him politely.

When we arrived at school, Acacia had bolted out of the door, running off to her group of friends, she seemed to be quite popular in her year.

She was a sweet girl, she enjoyed sports and reading. But ultimately aspired to become one of the pack warriors.

Me, Quinn and Micah walked to class, my attention momentarily being stolen by the future Alpha in front of me.

Sin Black was the type of guy you couldn't help but give a second glance.

He was tall, had broad shoulders and dark brown hair I found myself wanting to run my hands through.

No one could deny he was handsome, but he was also dangerous, he had quite a short temper and I had seen him pinning a wolf to a locker one too many times.

His eyes flickered to me and I immediately put my head down, focusing my attention back on Micah as he rambled on about this Saturday.

It was Sin's birthday and he was turning 18. So naturally there was to be a ball on Saturday, everyone in the neighbouring packs were required to attend.

He was obviously intending to find his mate, the future Luna of his pack.

I had already bought my dress. But I wasn't expecting much out of Saturday, my suspicions led me to believe that Lacey was going to be his mate.

Even if he did always walk away from her, she seemed quite keen to become his Luna, she was raving about her dress for half an hour in the changing rooms yesterday.

The most I was expecting out of this ball was a dance and maybe a drink if Warren allowed me.

I was quite mature for my age following my parents death but Warren insisted on treating me and Acacia like children.

I just hoped Saturday would be uneventful for me.
