Chapter 593

Yosef's eyes fluttered open to a darkened room, the moon hidden behind heavy clouds. As he woke up, he began to feel his body again. He tried to touch his sore side but accidentally pulled on the IV in his hand.

Ophite, who was sitting close by, noticed it first. "Yosef, you're awake at last."

The others, lounging on the couch, got up and came over. Charvi, Harper, Yaxley, and Stefan were all there.

"How are you feeling? Need me to get the doctor?" Ophite asked.

Yosef shook his head, his voice scratchy. "I'm okay."

"You were nearly not okay," Ophite said, a bit upset.

"You're not looking after yourself. Charvi told us you were coughing all the way from Marsberg, and you even flew back in economy. Why do you have to be so tough on yourself?"

Yosef did not answer and just closed his eyes for a moment. He tried to sit up. Yaxley, standing by the bed, helped by raising the bed so that Yosef could lean back comfortably.

"Thanks," Yosef murmured.

"Don't mention it," Yaxley replied
