Chapter 592

The two stood close, one tall and one shorter. They made a perfect pair. They wore similar styles and were both dressed in blue. The woman had on a beret and a mask, the brim pulled down to show only her eyes.

She turned to the man and said something, and he leaned in to listen. His hand naturally brushed her hair from under her coat, the black strands twirling around his pale fingers.

She did not seem to mind his touch, as if it was the most natural thing.

Yosef's mind raced back to the last holiday in Westwood, when he had walked hand in hand with her through the streets in the biting winter wind. He had fixed her scarf and gently tugged her hair free just as naturally.

She had looked up at him, her smile making her eyes twinkle.

A lump formed in Yosef's throat. He stepped forward, then stopped himself.

He could not, he just could not.

This was not the time.

In no time at all, the group was on the plane, but Yosef did not go any further.
