Willow’s POV Both men turned and looked at me, both with questioning eyes. Willow’s POV With those three little words, Alpha Chance’s lips were on mine and he scooped me up and carried me to the bed as the room was now filled with the moon light that now beamed through the window as the storm trails off. Willow’s POV Unfortunately, all things good had to come to an end and we had to remove ourselves from the bed but Alpha Chance took care of me while we got a showered and got ready to face our first day as a mated couple. Chance’s POV The ride home to Red Moon was a quiet one as I watched Beta Shawn stealing glances at Willow. I knew there was something he was feeling towards my mate, but I knew because she was my mate that he felt a need to resist her. Willow’s POV Beta Shawn’s words broke something within me and I felt pain deep within my soul. The realization hit me hard that he was only being nice to me because he felt sorry for me. I truly believed that there was a strong connection between the two of us, but it was a mistake that I will never make again. All the nice things he had done for me wasn’t because he had feelings for me, it was because he felt sorry for me, and I was just some charity case to him. My thoughts then went to the night that I pushed him into his room and the moment we had shared together. Shawn’s POV My wolf ran as hard as he could through the forest as I tried to get the image of Willow’s hurt face out of my head. What I had said to Alpha Chance was never to have been heard by her ears. I was trying to say something that would stop him from making me confess that I had strong feelings for Willow. Willow’s POV I knew that eventually I would have to see Beta Shawn, but I never thought it would be this soon and hurt this bad. The shock of seeing him had caused me to lose complete concentration allowing Alpha Chance to tag me. Alpha Chance saw the look on my face change and he turned to see what I was staring at. Beta Shawn’s eyes moved from me to Alpha Chance and I took that moment to make a run for it. I wasn’t ready to face him yet because my heart still ached from his words last night. Willow’s POV Initially, I began to head back towards the packhouse but after a few minutes of my mind getting lost in what just happened, I knew I couldn’t head back and face Alpha Chance. I needed to run and free myself of the pain that now tortured my thoughts. I had given myself to Beta Shawn willingly, knowing that I couldn’t fully have him as mine and I wondered what that meant for us and if my heart could handle this. I also wondered what Alpha Chance would think of all of this and if he would approve of Beta Shawn only being with me too, but not actually mating with me. I knew the two of them were talking about this in his office and he approved of Beta Shawn being my second mate but I wondered if he knew that Beta Shawn didn’t want to actually mate with me, but just have a relationship.
