FREE CHAPTER!

Terribly shaking and nervous as she stares at the dark muzzle of the gun pointing at her head, Angela walks straight for the door after pulling the key out of her chest.

Shakingly, she puts the key in the lock and turns it open.

"Open the door."

Angela pulls down the knob and opens the door just as Marshall and two men enter the boutique.

All the noise and ruckus has attracted people who weren't there just minutes before and now there were people peeping in through the boutique's glass windows.

Angela steps out first, Sue follows behind her and then James.

When the crowd sees the gun, there's a collective gasp.

Marshall walks to meet her. "Would you like me to handle that?"

Sue smiles at him, "Don't worry, I've got this. I'm sure if I don't kill her, I can at least ruin her pretty face." Sue says quite loudly and just as much as she knows people's weak points, she'll bet everything that Angie's weak points is her looks.

Her hands still up, Sue nudges her into the other room, she enters, Sue does and Marshall follows.

Then they close the door behind them.

Apart from the occasional noises from inside, no one knows what's really going on, including James, who's pacing around, worried for their safety.

Inside, Marshall pulls Ford away from Brian's bloodied and smashed in face.

He stands up straight and rubs his knuckles in Brian's clothes. All his hate still evident on his face.

Sue kneels down beside Ashley, putting the gun behind her so she won't see it with her. "Bear..."

On seeing her mum, Ashley bursts into tears. She had been so brave but now she's very happy. "Mum... I missed you. Why did you come so late? Where's Aunty Tanya?" She asks all at once

Sue nods, tears welling up in her eyes as well. "I'm sorry I came so late love. Aunty Tanya is safe where she is. We found her and now she's at home, she's waiting to see you too. I'm sorry okay?"

Sue hugs her and Ashley hugs her back and then picks up the little girl.

"Drop the gun...!" Marshall says as a warning behind her.

Surprised, Sue turns around to see Angela holding the gun she had dropped behind her and sees that the gun is pointing at her own head.

Angela snickers evilly. "Do you think you can get away with this?"

Sue gently lays Ashley on the ground and uses her hand to signal her to go outside.

Ashley runs to the door and Sue stands and shields her with her own body, letting the girl exit the room and meet James.

"Aw. What love. Is it a family thing? Your Dad died for you and now you'd die for your daughter?"

"It's called love. I can tell you didn't receive it when you were a young girl." Sue retorts

Angela winces almost like Sue touched a nerve.

"You bitch...!"

Outside, a loud gunshot is heard and everyone gasps!

Ashley bursts into tears again and sits on the floor crying and inside, on the wall, is a bright red splatter of blood.

Hi, I get what you mean but it didn't have to be expressed in such a harsh way. Well, I hope you still read on. Thanks

stupid chapter. Sue just drops the gun to pick Ashley and no one was covering for her? I don't think I'll read the next chapters until I see the end!
