It was getting late in the afternoon when their plane landed at the small private airport that was situated at the bottom of the mountain. It was pretty quiet when Cat and Della left the airplane and made their way back into the terminal. As soon as they got to the common area, Della began trying to call Caine again, but she got no answer. She had a perplexed look on her face as she and Cat wandered over to collect their luggage. Della tried again to call her sister. She was more than irritated when she didn't get an answer there either. "I wonder where everyone is? They couldn't have at least sent a car?" Della fumed. "I don't know girl, but I got us a cab, let's go," Cat told her calmly. "You're awful understanding today, what's going on Cat?" Della asked her friend suspiciously. "Nothing that I know of," Cat told her in a hurry, trying not to make eye contact. "Yeah right, girl, I know you better than this. What is everyone up to?" Della continued to badger her as they struggl
The helicopter could be heard landing somewhere way in the back of the property. Cat had no idea of where it was going but she knew for sure that Della was most definitely on it. She was more than anxious to get to it before Della could be taken away and hidden again... or worse. Her body suddenly stiffened at that last thought, and she tried to sit up, but John still had a tight grip on her. She wiggled a little to try to give him the hint to let her go, but he held on tighter instead. When she finally couldn't take it anymore, she turned to him and smiled a really big, flashy smile.John blushed and smiled back with a twinkle in his eye. "Hey John," she said as she giggled sweetly. "Yes ma'am?" He asked with a dreamy smile still on his face. "That helicopter," "Yes?" He asked, with a playful glint now in his eye. "It has Della on it, so if you don't put me down and unhand me right now, I'm going to kick you so hard in the nuts...that your granddaddy will feel it," she told h
Caine was so distraught about the fact that Mister had managed to steal Della from him, yet again, that he had been shifted into his dragon form for hours. He was flying desperately back and forth, in a grid pattern over the area above the entire castle grounds. His pitiful roars and cries could be heard echoing all over the mountain, and down into the valley below. It was a hollow and sad cry, so very sad that the sound of it made you want to hide, for fear that it might actually suffocate you. He flew and he cried for hours into the night, back and forth, back and forth, until Queen Rebecca just couldn't take it anymore. She had come in a little earlier in an attempt to get him to come in for a short rest and some food. It wasn't too long before she figured out that it wasn't going to work. She sighed deeply and reluctantly shifted back into her butterfly creature. She gathered her thoughts and then set out to find her heartbroken brother in law and either bring him in, or help hi
Caine and the Queen had been so wrapped up in getting Della to the doctor, that they didn't even care where Mister, Pearl and Justin had gone. Mister took that opportunity to escape them and get back to his great grandmother's castle. He made it back to find that Pearl and Justin had either hidden themselves very well, or left all together. It didn't matter to him either way at the moment, though, because he wasn't there for them. He only briefly looked around as he made his way to the master bedroom to retrieve the book that he had stashed back in its original hiding place under the floor. Once again he pulled the rug back, lifted the board, and reached inside. He felt around in the darkness, but he didn't find it. He just figured that he was missing it because it was dark, so he reached for the flashlight and looked again, but it still wasn't there. He sat back, angry and confused as hell. That's when he caught a glimpse of something silver and shiny caught between the floorboard
It was early morning when Della woke up back in the hospital wing. She panicked a little at first, fearing that she had been dreaming about her life over the last few weeks, and that she had been there the whole time. Had her life really all been taken away?? Was she really stuck in this chaos forever? She shot straight up in the bed, she was breathing heavily, and frantically looking around. Caine heard her stirring and he stood up from the chair that he was sleeping in by her bedside. He wrapped his arms around her and he kissed her on the top of her head while he gently rocked her. "It's okay lover, I'm here," he said gently, nuzzling his face in her neck, trying to calm her down. "Oh thank God," she said, as she started to cry, and she pulled him to her tighter. "I thought it was all a dream for a minute. I thought that I had never really found you again, and that I had been here in this damned hospital wing the whole time." "No baby, I'm here," he said, squeezing her with all
Mister was in a panicked tizzy, frantically trying to make sense of what was happening to him at the moment. He tried to get away from the presence and out of the bedroom door, but it was no use. There was something or someone holding him in place. He tried to fight it off but it seemed to be wrapped all around him. He couldn't move, hell, he could barely breathe, as the presence slowly moved him across the room, pushing him hard up against the wall behind him. "What do you want?" He was finally able to get out as his eyes filled with tears and his head started to swim. He knew for sure that he was about to pass out, and he was doing everything that he could think of to get free. "What do you want?" The raspy voice wheezed back on return to him in the dark."You were the one looking for me, yes?" The disembodied voice hissed at him with a hint of sarcasm. "Are you….her?" He managed to ask out loud to whomever his invisible torturer was. He suddenly felt the presence let him go and i
Little Ella was thoroughly pleased with herself at the moment. She still couldn't believe that she had actually managed to free that dragon all by herself. She goaded and taunted it for hours to make sure that she pissed it off real good, and then she sent it to kill Caine. She was carefully following orders to the letter. She did what she had to do, all the while she was praying that he was really going to reward her as well as he had promised. There was always a small part of her that knew that fae folk simply could not be trusted, but she had already convinced herself that there was no other way.She flew after Mister's prized dragon as fast as she could, but she was just too small to keep up. It was freezing cold outside at the moment and fairies just didn't do well in the snow. It caused ice to form on the inside of her wings which made them heavy and hard to move. It made her considerably slower, and she couldn't travel as far as usual without needing to stop and rest. She had ma
Mister was stuck in a complete state of shock and dismay over what he was reading in his great grandmother's diary. It was full of information, but most of the details he could have lived without. Apparently her aunt's name was Morana, and she was the second born on her father's side. She clearly had no blood rights to the crown, but would have been next in line before Esmeralda was born because there was no one left alive on her mother's side. Once he got past all of the preliminary events and early squabbles, he got to the meat of the story. He jumped into the story with both feet at that point, but by the time that he realized that he was never meant to read this...it was far too late, and he almost started to wish that he had never gone there.Apparently, after Princess Esmeralda had suffered a lifetime of fake love and mental torture, at the expense of the hands of her twisted aunt, Morana actually had the nerve to murder Esmerelda's mother and father to take the throne, or at le
