CHAPTER 1

"Miss Morven!"

I immediately lifted my head from the desk when I heard our professor. He's standing in front of me. Maybe I was sleeping again so I wasn't able to listen to prof's discussion. I was also seated at the back near the classroom window.

"Are you listening, Miss Morven?" Prof raised his left eyebrow while he asked me that.

"I'm sorry," was my only response.

Suddenly, the school bell has rung, signifying that the class has ended, and that it is time for the next subject.

"The bell has rung." Prof sighed once he turned my back on me. "Tomorrow, we'll continue the discussion."

Before prof left, he turned to me once again.

"Miss Morven, I hope this won't happen again." Prof stated with disappointment, and he left.

I sighed. Why is it necessary to study? I want to stay at home, in my room, specifically.

"Hey, Marigold."

Oh here we go again. Do they really see no other victim but me? By the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. I am Marigold Morven. My parents named me Marigold because for them, I am a golden flower.

I faced Ella at my side. The twins Aubrey and Audrey stood beside her with their disgusted faces. These three are literally bullies here.

"It's my turn to bully you again. How was it? Neil bullied you yesterday. Now, it's my turn." She turned to the twins and took Aubrey's milktea. Ah I know that. She will pour it on me.

"Hey!"

Ella stopped what she was planning to do. She couldn't continue because another bully, Neil, appeared. He even did the fistbomb with our male classmates. He gazed at me, with a smirk on his face.

"Hey, hey, Ella! What are you doing there? Haven't I told you that I'm the only one who has the right to bully anyone in this room? Tss, go away! Geez!" He slightly pushed Ella away, making way for him. The twins caught her, avoiding for her to fall.

"Oops, sorry. Serves you right, though. Don't you ever try to steal my title!" Neil sat down at my desk and stared at me.

"You're really an introvert, huh? You're not even an interesting target. You don't cry. I don't like you anymore."

Good. I don't like you either. Who even told you I like you? Geez, I really want to say that. But I know I don't have the courage to do it.

"Well, will you give her to us, then?" Ella intervened. Her face showed radiance. Geez, I really thought I'd be free but it seemed like, I'm gonna enter a new level of hell.

"I don't want to. No one ever has the right to bully Gold except me! I have the authority here! Do you all understand?!" Neil shouted in the whole class.

Now, here he goes again with his nickname for me. Gold. I can't blame him. I'm totally a gold. But can't he just call me Marie or Goldie? Why does it have to be Gold?

"Don't worry, Neil. She's yours. We don't really have an interest when it comes to her. She doesn't even consider us her own classmates! She's selfish!" One of my classmates shouted. Honestly, he's got a point.

"I have an idea! Gold will be going to my house!"

I paused for a while, trying to process what Neil said. Our classmates gasped in shock. But Neil, on the other hand, just laughed. What is he thinking?

"Uh, Neil? Why would Marigold go to your house?" Ella asked. Gosh, I can see in Ella's expression that she's jealous. Don't they even know that I can just tell it from the way how their face reacts? Quiet people are the best investigators.

Neil stopped laughing.

"What are you thinking, you idiots! There's a party at our house! Of course all of us must be there!" Our classmates let out a sigh of relief. Geez I don't know. Neil is a bully, but he has a childish attitude. Why are they even afraid of him?

Wait. What did he say? Party? Geez. Just hearing that word brought chills to my spine. I hate parties. I hate crowdy places. I hate people.

"I can't. I'm busy," I calmly stated.

"Why? Do you even know when? I haven't even mentioned the date. How would you know if you're busy or not?" He flashed an evil smile. Geez, I'm so stupid.

"I'm busy everyday," I excused.

"Idiot! The party is at night! So you won't be busy, then."

What the f--- He's the idiot here! But, geez, I should've told him every night instead of everyday. Right? Geez, nevermind.

I'm here outside the school gate. I'm waiting for my driver to pick me up. I've been here for minutes. There are no other students here but me. As usual, while waiting, I'm listening to music. I saw two people from the distance not so far from where I stood. That's Aubrey and Audrey. Because of my curiosity, I removed my headphone. They looked like they are fighting.

"Aubrey, your plan's way too much! You would kill Ella! What will happen to us next? Go to jail?! No!!"

"What are you saying, Audrey? I just want her out of our sight!"

"I would feel guilty. We can just embarrass her. Let's not poison her!"

Poison?! Did I hear it right? Geez, that's why I don't want to have some friends. They'll only betray you in the end.

"You know, Audrey. Someone like Ella, shouldn't be pitied. She deserves to die! Geez I'm so excited for the party of Neil my love!"

Oh Aubrey also likes Neil. Well, I can't deny, he's handsome. But also stupid. Ah K. I was just kidding.

"Without Ella, no one can ever take Neil away from us. You like Neil too, don't you, my twin sister?"

Geez, what made all of you fall for Neil? He's just handsome. That's all. Well, rich too. But, there are still far way better than him. And even smarter. Geez.

I immediately put my headphones back on and listened to the music again. Well, I already knew their plan. And I have no intention of stopping them. Why? Because I don't care about other people. I'll just let them do what they want.

Audrey gazed to my direction. Her eyes widened when she saw me. Seemed like she became nervous because I might have overheard them.

She turned to Aubrey and whispered something to her. Aubrey looked to my direction. She formed an evil smile first before they walk to my direction.

"Hey, how long have you been here?" Aubrey asked calmly.

Audrey took out my headphone. She put it on her head and listened to the song.

"What is this?! The volume's too high!" She returned my headphone back to me. The twins' faces seemed to lighten up. Seemed like they thought I wasn't able to hear about their plan.

"Young lady." I turned to my driver who had just arrived so I walked past the twins.

My family and I are currently having dinner. Mom, Dad and my older brother. My older brother and I are the only ones who agree on everything. For my parents, I am invisible. In their eyes, I'm nothing. They only treat one person as their son. And that's my older brother. I do not envy my brother at all. I'm just really used to it so I don't care anymore. It's just the maids here, our butler, are those who become my playmates in the online games that I always play. My older brother only plays with me just seldom because he's busy but I often talk to him.

"How was the company, son?" Mom asked my older brother. Oh this topic again. Even in front of the food, they're still talking about business. They don't even ask me if I'm being bullied at school or what. They don't even ask me how my studies at school went.

"As usual, it's okay," replied my older brother.

My older brother turned his gaze on me.

"How are you, sister?" Well. Only my older brother asked me that. My parents? No.

I just gave him a thumbs up and smiled in response. That's why my parents focused on my older brother, because he will be the future successor of our company. We are rich, but I don't feel the essence of being a family.

As usual, wearing my headphones, I walked towards the classroom. I looked at the twins at the lobby. Seeing them, I remembered what they were talking about yesterday. Will they still continue their plan? Am I still not gonna stop them?
