Not Without Scar

“Come on Eddy put your back into it!” I stifled a laugh at the situation. Eddy grunted sending a curse my way as he precariously balanced a load of boxes. The boxes were stuffed to the brim with clothes Emma and I had picked out for ourselves. A box slid almost toppling over, causing Eddy to rush forward and dump them in the carriage.

“I’m never doing that again.” He laughed ruffling Emma’s hair playfully.

“I’ll be a minute.” Justin quickly vanished into the crowd. I tried to spot where he was headed but he was swallowed up in shadow.

Shaking the thought away I leapt into the carriage next to Emma. I peered out the window at the street once more which suddenly burst with life. Odd how once everyone was in the carriage they came out. “Why do the people fear you?” I voiced looking pointedly at Eddy.

He sighed leaning back in the seat, “Eric may of sent Justin here shortly before your arrival to deal with something. A lot of thieves
