Chapter 85

Morning came at last. The sky was bright and promising a new day; and Los Angeles was as lively as usual.

Catherine slowly let her eyes open to see the new day. Raven had totally forgotten about her since the last time he came. He didn't even ask any of the Scorpion Soldiers to feed or give her water.

The tears in her eyes and face had dried completely. She looked worse than a slave who had not been fed for days and had been working non-stop despite that. Catherine managed to get up from the small bed in which she had barely gotten any sleep the night before. She crossed her arm over her body as a result of cold. Last night had been so cold that she felt like she would freeze to death since there wasn't a blanket on the bed.

She felt hungry and abandoned, and wondered who Nora was and why she (Catherine) was going through hell just because of her. “You should have thought about that before you sold her information to that guy,” a voice in her head said.
