Chapter 3

There had been a fire that's razing down part of the farm.

"Please call fire service quickly!" Bosey yelled, to one of the ranch hand beside him.

Bosey had to make sure Mandy was fine while they waited for fire service to arrive. He walked to her, as she stood behind him, watching.

"Why is all this happening now Bosey" there is so much I can take! I am so exhausted. What caused this fire? How did it start, when! Mandy yelled, sounding fraustrated.

"Please calm down Mandy let me quickly go check what is happening. I'll be right back"

Bosey left Mandy to the part of the farm that was on fire. On getting there he could see it was not a serious fire but just grasses getting burnt. Probably the farm hand saw smoke, and thought the farm was on fire. Bosey let out a sigh of relief. At least Mandy won't be crying her eyes out this time. He thought.

Bosey has always felt that seeing her cry makes his chest tighten and anger fill him up, because there was nothing he could say or do that will be significant enough to make her feel better. The only thing he could do was console her whenever she seems moody or cry. But things are about to change, if only Mandy could give him a chance to be that man she really deserves. A man who will sweep her off her feet, make her feel better when all hope seems lost. He walked back to where she stood, waiting for him.

"Bosey, what happened? She asked.

Mandy could see the expression on Bosey's face and it was not worrisome. At least the fire couldn't have been serious if Bosey isn't wearing a worried look.

"There is no fire, Mandy. at least no crop was affected. Some grasses were getting burnt along the farm way. I guess the ranch hand saw smoke from afar and thought it was the farm on fire. The fire department will be here shortly to put out the fire so it doesn't spread to the crops. It is definitely nothing to worry about.

Mandy put a hand to her chest, and heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing what Bosey had said.

" I need to rest Bosey, I shall retire to the mansion and come back to work later."

Bosey couldn't let her walk to the mansion alone. He escorted her to the mansion. At the front of the house, Bosey stopped to go back to the farm, but Mandy quickly grabbed him by the hand.

"I don't want to be alone Bosey, please come in and stay with me. I will appreciate it, if it won't be a bother to you" she said, with her eyes pleading for his company.

"Not at all" Bosey said to Mandy.

It was like a dream come true for Bosey. Whatever reason to always be by her side is what he is grateful for. He went with Mandy into the Mansion.

As Mandy walked into the house, she could see the memories shared with her dad. She looked at the wall by her right, her father's pictures were there. He was smiling like he was the most happiest man on earth. Mandy looked to her left. Her picture, with her father standing beside her was also on the wall. She smiled, and all the memories came back to her in full, and it was like her father never left.

These memories was shattered when she realised all the tags to the properties were still there. She almost burst out crying again but Bosey quickly told her not to cry anymore as crying will definitely solve nothing.

"There is no point crying, Mandy. Crying is only going to make you tired and we don't want you tired, and not fit to run the farm. We need you to be strong. The farm needs you to be as strong as you can be. I don't want to sound harsh, but you have mourned your father enough. I know he will want you to be strong to keep the farm up and running. You need to lay down and rest.

Bosey led Mandy to the couch where he beckoned on her to lay down. Mandy laid down and before she closed her eyes, she said something to Bosey but he couldn't hear her properly, as he was standing. Bosey squatted close to Mandy's face to hear what she was saying to him.

"Please stay here until I awake" Mandy said to Bosey.

Bosey nodded.

"I will be right here when you wake up, be rest assured" he replied.

It was few minutes into Mandy's sleep when she began to murmur in her sleep.

"Dad please don't go, please don't leave me here all alone I need you dad please"

Mandy also raised her hand up as if trying to reach for something in the air.

Bosey grabbed her hand and shook her a little, waking her up. Mandy woke up sweating profusely.

"Shhhh, it was just a dream" Bosey murmured, sitting closer to her. Bosey stroked Mandy's hair while assuring her. He used his other hand, to clean the sweat on her face with his handkerchief.

Bosey was sitting so close to Mandy. She turned to look at him, then she looked away. She moved closer to him, seeking his closeness. She closed the gap between them. Mandy's turned to Bosey. Her eyes were fixated on his lips.

Mandy couldn't help herself anymore, she grabbed Bosey by the neck and kissed his lip softly. She drew back immediately.

Drawing back, Mandy began to apologize to Bosey, but before she could draw back completely, Bosey drew her back and kissed her passionately. Mandy was shocked, but she liked it, she leaned in for more and suddenly there was a knock on the door......
