Emily "Where have you been?" His voice was scarily calm. "I-i-i" I just couldn't find the right word to say or come up with. Joshua is in my room. Right now I wish that the ground will open and I will gladly jump inside. His eyes travelled down to the white leather in my hands. "Oh Emily" He chuckled darkly. "You know I hate it when you disappoint me." With each words he got up and took slow menacing steps towards me. I backed up against the wall in fear, feeling my heart pounding against my ribcage.The way Joshua is approaching me felt like a predator slowly stalking his prey. I was cornered, no escape. Earlier this morning he told me not to eat or make any food for myself but I was tempted like really hungry so I decided to sneak out to buy some snacks from the little savings I had. Emily I woke up and looked at the clock telling me it's 6:30am, time to get up and get ready for school. Yeah! Note the sarcasm. Its like my second worst place in the world. Sighing heavily, I crawl off the bed to the window and push the curtains aside. The window is still locked but the sunlight managed to pour in and bathe everywhere with its light. EMILY I opened the door gently and entered the house slowly closing it behind me. Inside was dark and quiet, too quiet. I quietly tiptoed going to the staircase. "You know, i used to be a very happy kid, a kid that had friends to played around with. I was like a child who spent her days dreaming and living on fantasies. I didn't even know Joshua wasn't my real father because he raised me up like a real father would do, I used to call him Dad. Whenever he had the chance or was free from work, he would take me to some amazing places to spend time with me. However, our favorite place was the beach that was close to our house at Florida. We would go there at night to watch the stars." Smiling sadly at the memories, I glanced up at the boys to see them listening attentively.
