Chapter 2

Maya silently starred at the embarrassed Sophia's face for some moments.

Sophia had just finished narrating her experience to Maya and doing that had gotten her so flustered and embarrassed that her cheeks were tinged a crimson hue.

"Still... The fact that he was do alluring doesn't justify that he's the one..." Maya tried to argue but she realised that her argument would just be baseless. "...there's no other explanation for who he might be since he's the only one who could be in that place."

Even as she agreed that Sophia had come across the billionaire heir of the mansion, she couldn't help but feel a little envious that Sophia was the one who had met with him first.

'I wouldn't have run out like that if I was the one who met him.' Maya thought regretfully. Who knew if the billionaire heir could have fallen for her at first sight?

Thinking of how the man looked like made Maya's heart beat with anticipation.

"Are you having strange thoughts?" Sophia asked as she noticed the continuous emotional changes her friend was going through.

"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just a little jealous." Maya replied with a wry smile.

"What are you jealous about?" Sophia asked with a tilted eyebrow. "If you were in my shoes you'd probably react the same way!"

"I don't think so though..." Maya argued.

Sophia gave her friend a weird gaze.

"What was his name again?"

"I think his name is Ethan." Maya replied with a nod.

"Yeah... Ethan" Sophia mumbled with sparkling eyes.

"We have to go back to work..." Maya spoke plainly.

"I only followed you here because I thought something bad had happened. If boss finds out about this, she'll be pissed." Maya said.

A look of faint dread descended on Sophia's face and she shook her head faintly.

"I don't wanna." Sophia protested with a pout on her small lips.

"How cute." Maya chuckled as she stared at her love struck friend. It was clear that Sophia was having an intense crush on Ethan.

Maya ordered two cups of coffe for the both of them and watched as Sophia drank her coffee with unfocused eyes.

Sophia couldn't get the image of Ethan out of her head even as she relished the coffee. But subtly and without her notice, she relaxed. That was one of the charms that the coffee had, it's ability to make someone relax and focused.

By the time their cups were emptied, Sophia felt silly for running away from the mansion and without any further coercion, she followed Maya back to resume their jobs.

"Did something happen?" The butler who had been alarmed at the sudden departure of both young women met them at the entrance of the mansion and asked in a concerned voice.

"It's nothing you should bother yourself with, just a normal ladies thing." Maya forwardly replied him before Sophia could make matters worse.

"O-Okay, if you say so..." The butler had no choice but to let them in and continue their work.

Sophia's legs were heavy as she went back to the room she had been working and where she had inadvertently met the alluring billionaire, but part of her wanted to see him too.

She didn't know whether to call it a stroke of luck or not, but Ethan was nowhere to be found, and neither was the dog.

Feeling a bit a bitter taste in her mouth, Sophia went back to work. Throughout the rest of the day that Sophia and Maya worked in the mansion, neither of them came into contact with the billionaire again.

"So did you see him again?" Maya asked immediately the moment she met Sophia again. Sophia simply shook her head wryly.

"It's a pity. I really wanted to meet him in person." Maya said with regret as she took another glance at the lavish house.

It wasn't the first time that they would know of Ethan. His family was a famous one and it was believed that they were one of the richest in the country and perhaps even in the world.

Despite the fact that the family was popularly known, very little information was given about the rest of the family members and the only one that was truly popular was the matriarch of the family. Her husband was late.

Very little was known about her first son, Ethan, his siblings also were vaguely known and also rarely seen. So it was natural that Maya wanted to see him at least once, she couldn't forget how Sophia had been so flustered upon meeting him.

Even now, as Maya took another glance at Sophia, she could notice that Sophia's eyes were darting around frantically as if she was looking for something or someone. There was an evident longing and desire that reflected off her face.

"Good work today..." The butler had come out to meet with them and to see them out of the mansion. He smiled at them favourably after inspecting their work.

He saw them off with a smile and a slight bow of his head as they exited the mansion.

"You be going home. I'll make the report of today's work." Maya said to Sophia after they had left. She was being considerate of Sophia who still had a forlorn look in her eyes.

"Really?" Sophia was surprised.

"Yes, you don't seem to be in the best state for reporting back at the office. So head home and clear your head." Maya advised.

"Well... Thank you." Sophia hesitantly replied with a slight blush at Maya's blatancy.

With that, Maya scurried off back to her home. The normal thing to have done would have been to return all the equipments that they had used and to return to their boss but she couldn't do any of that.

Maya sighed deeply as she watched Sophia's back disappear into the distance.  Then she turned to look at the mansion once more.

"Ethan Delacroix..." She muttered under her breath with a complicated expression on her face.

"I didn't even have the opportunity to see you..." She said regretfully and turned away.

"Who are those ladies?" A man with enticing blue eyes peered outside the window which overlooked the street asked.

"I don't know of their identities, young master. I only know that they work for that cleaning company." The butler of the massive mansion replied reverently.

"Would they be coming back?" The man asked again.

"It's just a one time business deal with that company. And it only lasted for today." The butler replied.

"Is that so?" The man muttered. His steel blue eyes seemed to radiate a mysterious faint light

This man with steel blue eyes was Ethan Delacroix. The heir of the billionaire empire.
