My hands are encircled by a chain. My waking body was greeted by a cold and cement odor; this place is a shambles.
"You're awake, Selena."
That familiar voice made me raise my head.
"Jacob? All of this was done by you?"
He gets down on his knees and looks me in the eyes. I could see how much rage was now residing in his heart and spirit. His fingers twirled in my hair and brushed against my face.
"I apologize for using you, Selena. You're Jax's priceless jewel, which he can't afford to lose" with every point he makes, he says.
I cocked my head and smirked. He didn't know anything, and my eyes are fixed on him, like if my death is a long distance off.
"You're wasting your time; Jax won't show up—"
Because of a gunshot from elsewhere, my word is cut short.
"Get away from my wife, Jacob," Jax growled, pulling out his gun once more.
Jacob didn't flinch in the least, as if he expected it. When a large group of men appeared and surrounded us, my eyes opened.
"How does it feel to live in a mansion, drive a car worth a billion dollars, and be married to such a stunning woman?" Jacob shifted his gaze to Jax.
I despise Jax to death, yet if something were to happen to him, remorse would drive me insane.
"Please let Selena go; she's pregnant."
"Jax..." my tears welled up as a result of my conflicted emotions.
Jacob burst out laughing. "Do you think I'm a complete moron?" He stomped his foot on Jax's and punched him in the face.
"Jax!" I scream hysterically while attempting to get free from my bonds. I can't do anything except cry since two men are holding my shoulders to stop me.
Jacob never pulled his fists off Jax's body; instead, he grabbed him by the collar and tossed him away.
"Jacob, come to a halt!"
Jacob throws an envelope and a pen at Jax, who is already in too much pain to fight.
"Sign this paper, place your money and everything in my hand."
Jax laughed at him, so he booted him in the stomach, causing him to scream.
"Hey bro, I'm sorry for the delay."
We were all staring at the gate in front of us. They've arrived, thanks to God. Britanny ran to me and removed the chains while the men that surround us fought our buddies.
Haru separates Jacob from Jax, and the two begin fighting.
"Go with Jax and get out of here," Britanny said as she attempted to break the latch. I dashed to Jax as soon as she had properly removed it.
"Jax, please don't close your eyes."
He snatched my hands and held them in his. When a bullet struck my back, my heart skipped a beat.
When I fell at Jax's peak, my entire body went numb.
"Selena!"
THREE YEARS AGO Only the two of us stood beneath the frigid sky on a snowy December night. He grabs my hands and pulls me in closer. His eyes, like mine, are full of bliss, which I believed could only happen in movies. The butterflies in my stomach began to tickle my entire body. For me, it's a lovely night, and I'm feeling like a princess. He's speaking with his heart rather than his words when he says, "Thank you for coming into my life, Selena." My shaking hands smiled at him as they touched his face. "Thank you for always making my heart warm, even when the weather was so chilly." My eyes immediately closed
My headache caused me to wake up. What a shame that I was a complete mess last night. When a man approached from outside the room, I was going to get out of bed. He has a platter of food and soup in his hands. He pushed the meal to the side and said, "You're awake." I have a puzzled expression on my face as I stare at him. He's a baritone - a particularly attractive one, to be sure – but I remembered something."Yes, I'm the man in the café," he says, cutting off my words."You didn't hurt me in any way, did you?" I inquired, cautiously. He just sat on the couch and laughed at me."Why? Did you have a strange sensation in your body?"What? What exactly does he mean?"What exactly do you mean?" I inquired."Every time you're devirginized for the first time, it's unpleasant, so did you
I awoke with a big grin on my face. I need to start my day off on a good note-"AHHHH!"When I heard Haxilla cry in the living room, I bolted."Can you tell me what happened?" Brittany was the one who asked."A cockroach flew on her body, and you know how much Hax despises cockroaches," she explained as she stood there watching Haxilla jump and roll around the room."Did you simply stand there like that? Oh, please help me-ah!" Hax had fallen on the couch. With a shake of my head, I returned to my room. Later, when she realizes the cockroach has gone away from her, she will be fine.I can still hear her yells, but I choose to ignore them and prepare for my interview.Sel, be courageous and confident. You've got this!Haxilla stopped whining and began preparing breakfast as if nothing had happened
I was in a rush because I had gotten up late yet again. I've never gotten up on time, geez. When the bus came to a halt in front of me, there were a lot of people going inside, and I couldn't get in because of the crowd. With a frown on my face, I walk backwards to allow them to pass. Why did I get terrible luck when I was born? I checked my watch and realized that waiting for another bus would make it difficult for me to make it to the interview on time. Running is easy for me because I wear flat sandals. People who bumped into me were ignored as I ran. A number of individuals have voiced their displeasure with my actions, but I haven't had the opportunity to apologize to them yet.
"Finally, we met," Ma'am Perfiana said as we exchanged handshakes. "Yes, I'm really apologetic for the previous day; my documents got bogged down in a muddy puddle," I stated. Her face was filled with both confusion and worry. "Why? What went wrong? "She inquired as she prepared her laptop for the interview. "I got bumped by a jackass, grr nevermind," I joked, and she laughed as well. We're seated on a bench outside the company, which is unusual for a job interview. "By the way, ma'am, does the job interview have to take place within the company?" I inquired. "Look at the spot where we are," she replied with a smile. Only a few folks were walking there when I looked around. Unlike outside of a company, there is a low population count here. "All I see are people walking by..." "The company was l
"You're wearing that outfit again," Haxilla said as I walked out to my room."What?! Today is my actual interview," I said and sat down for breakfast.Britanny was preparing the food on the table, and my brow furrowed when I noticed a cake that was unusual on our breakfast table."Why are we having a cake? Today is none of our birthdays.""That's our good luck gift for you," Britanny said, smiling as she sat down.I'm not sure what happened, but my heart began to skip a beat."Thank you for being so sweet." I was about to hug them when they backed away.I came to a halt and gave them a cold stare. They didn't love me, hmp! I sat down in my chair with a betrayed expression on my face.
"Wait, you're saying the glasses you broke in your life are the most important requirement?" Incredulous, Haxilla inquired. In the interview, I told them everything that had happened the day before."Yes, when I was aware of it. My heart was racing so fast, "I said this as I was cutting paper for a flower origami. We're assisting Britanny with her client's debut design."That's strange. By the way, you're friends now with Haru?" Britanny inquired as she glittered the flowers."No, I'm not sure. Perhaps just a casual get-to-know-each-other?""Do you have a photo of him?"In response to Haxilla's question, I shook my head.My phone rang as we were putting the finishing touches on the flowers a
"You passed out again yesterday, Haru brought you home." I choked on what Haxilla said. I wipe my mouth after drinking. "H-How did he know our address?" I asked, confused. She pinched me on my belly. "Are you that really stupid?" she said while pinching my belly. "A-Ah, that hurts Hax!" I exclaimed. "You applied for them, so it's normal to know your information, moron!" I pouted my lips and continued eating my soup. My brows furrowed when I was trying to remember what happened yesterday. Do we stand under the sun for me to pass out? Argh, I don't know. My head still hurts.
