Crazed to the point of madness, Commander Ember’s blood lust eyes continued to stare at Wulfric in hunger.
Wulfric did not care much and turned to the corner where the other half of the commander stands separately; looking meaningfully at Ember as he sheathed his sword.
The chained commander made a sound of whimper as he followed the general’s gaze, understanding his silent words.
He is vulnerable. Wulfric knows that very well. And he is letting him know he will exploit that fact to threaten him.
In this form Ember is almost unshakable. Except when his lower half is attacked. And right now, his weakness is fully exposed.
“Let us get this over with, Ember. Tell me, were you behind the attack? And setting fire of the villages?”
“Aren’t you giving me too much credit, General? Me? A meek commander, lead the attack against the warrior of Constancia?”
Looking at the sinister face, Wulfric felt justi
Outside, all the warriors including the tattooed ones flinched at least once. The wailing was not for the faint of heart. One way or another, it all got them thinking it was still best to stay on the good side of both The Wolf and the chief. When the cries finally stopped, the warriors almost sighed in relief and thank Bathala.A few minutes later, the two lead warriors came out one after the other. Chief Abian came out first, cleaning his whip as he walks. His bare tattooed torso covered with spatters of gore. On his heels, was General Wolf his expressionless face dotted by blood. Unlike the chief, he seems not to care and left it to stain. The two were also having a conversation as if everything is normal.Chief Abian was heard saying, “Tsk! It seems that the instigator is very cautious. And clever if I may say. Only certain parts of the plan were revealed to each member. They thoroughly prepared for the eventuality that one may be
"Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday... Happy birthday..."Walking into the living room, Luna covered her face acting shy and surprised. But Luna was anything but surprised of her "surprise" birthday party. If you can even consider it as a party with only her Mom, Angelie and bestfriend Pipo. Well, she still pretended anyway, for the sake of her Mom. Though Pipo knows better. No one can catch Luna off guard. After all, Luna was born with a gift to see and know things before it happens. She can foresee things. Gets a peek of the future, was how Pipo describes it.At the age of five, Luna can tell what her teacher's test exams would be. What her mother will cook for dinner or what clothes her Mom would wear. How she does it?She does not have any idea.Only that, she just knows. Just plain, know. And it freaked her out.She tried telling her Mom, but like all mothers, Angelie attributed it to her be
That night, Luna lay on her bed, deep in thought. At thirteen, she believes, she coped well with the powers and all. Any other thirteen years old would have gone crazy after all the not-so-normal things. Especially when she can’t tell others. And Pipo knowing had been an accident. Since the time her Mom forbade her to mention anything about her presumed abilities. Luna stopped trying to convince others. It was better that way. But deep down, she want
Luna woke up to the smell of honey. Her body feeling pricked all over by needles. It should not have hurt. She overcame her panic and "sort of" controlled the wind a moment before she fell on the "ground".Someone poked her on the ribs."Ugh...!" Luna let out a moan. Then she heard a shriek. She opened her eyes in a slow manner, adjusting to the light. Her vision is still a little blurry from the fall. But saw no one.
Luna bit her lips and extended her arms to reach for her pillow. Her bed is swaying and her head weighs like a ton. She wriggled to move her body to the other side but something is holding her firm. Is there an earthquake?Earthquake had been common in recent years and she’s not surprised if one is happening right now. Only that can cause this bed of hers to rock. Luna stirred and instantly felt a hammering pain on her head. She raised her arm to hold it still.
At the center, Luna saw a group of people. Seven were women. Each one possesses extreme beauty and tall. They wore flowing dresses each a different color from the other. Their hair glowing, their skin pale and luminescent. Gems adorned their head. Some shaped like flowers, others like teardrops. They were so richly dressed. The air around them was filled with arrogance and royalty.Talking, or rather arguing with them are much taller men, garb in the same richly manner as the beauties. However, it was evident that the men were much older than the women. They have long beards hangingfrom their faces. Same luminescent skin but lined with age.
Luna knew of course that with her gifts, considering her ordinary is not possible. But she always thought it was due to... to human mutation. Or that unlike everyone else she can access the full potential of her brain more than others. Something like science-fiction-super-active-brain-teen-turned-powerful-girl kind of thing. Not once this she thinks it was a fairytale story origin! And as far as she knows both her parents were normal! Right?
Luna did not know how she came to stand next to Princess Lamea the next day. She had woken up feeling refreshed. Instead of her PJs, she is now wearing a white robe just like the princesses the other day. She really needs to get used to calling them sisters. On her feet were silver flat slippers. Her long hair in a braid with flowers. Beside her was Alta smiling and so radiant."Lamea is looking for you. I am here to fetch you. And I took the liberty to heal your head wound and dress you for the day." Alta was chattering. "I do love fashion!"
