It must have been three in the morning. The rain had finally stopped, not even a single drop falling anymore. The cabin had the smell of death lingering and the atmosphere was tense.

You see, this was common in the pack, and maybe in other packs too. Every werewolf feared their wolf being taken away from them. They saw it as the highest form of punishment.

If most of them had to choose between death and having their wolves taken away from them, death was going to be the popular option.

Having one’s wolf taken away meant shame, demotion, and disgrace, and was just almost every werewolf’s worse nightmare.

The hybrid stood not too far from Clary and barely paid attention to what was going on. He was still in disbelief that this had happened.
