            The house was quiet when I headed upstairs. KJ was snoring and he’d kicked his covers off when I peeked in on him. I put them back over him then headed down the hall. Mak laid in the fetal position with the comforter and sheets pulled up around her neck and over her ears. It wasn’t even cold in here. She stirred as I pulled them off of her, but didn’t wake.
