"What are you sorry for?" Noah laughed at her reaction. He couldn't comprehend why she was looking like she had done something wrong. "It's just a breakup," he told her. "It's not that serious."
Vivienne's expression didn't change much even when she couldn't obviously see how hard he was trying to lighten the mood. He seemed to not know that she was the girl who had an unrequited love towards him. And unrequited love is often etched on your very bones and becomes a part of your soul. You begin to read the object of that unrequited love closely in silence.
Vivienne did that too. Therefore, she could see he wasn't as fine with this breakup as he was trying to appear right now.
"If it wasn't that serious, you wouldn't be drowning your sorrow in alcohol right now," she responded.
Noah's hand paused as he glanced at the glass of whiskey he was holding and glanced at her, "How about I show you around? There is a beautiful place in the back of the estate where you can really enjoy your wine in the presence of the beautiful stars and moon. Do you want to see?"
Vivienne knew he just cleverly avoided the topic but she didn't bring the topic back either rather she contemplated for a minute before nodding her head, "Sure."
Without asking any more questions, Vivienne followed him without a thought. She would usually overthink things a lot but with him around, her brain didn't have the capacity to go down the overthinking lane.
Noah brought her to the back of the well-lit estate. Taking the stairs, they came to the terrace which had a very modern feel to it, quite contrary to the vintage vibe of this old winery estate. He offered her to sit while he opened the glass door and entered the room. Soon, he came out of the with a glass and a bottle of wine in his hands.
"You seem to enjoy the wine so I found this for you," he passed her the glass and very gentlemanly even poured some wine for her before he sat down beside her and took out a whiskey bottle from under the chair.
Vivienne was speechless at this but she still took the wine and slowly tasted it. Her brows knitted up together and she extended her hand to pick up the wine bottle. Seeing the name, her eyes widened a little. "Cheval Blanc 1947? Whose collection did you take this from?"
Noah seemed very carefree at the moment as he replied, "Don't worry. They won't come looking for you. Look up. Didn't I say the company of stars and the moon here is the best?"
Who cared about the stars and the moon when he was sitting so close to her and she could actually smell a heady blend of musky cologne from him, mixed with the subtle hint of pine, reminiscent of a forest after summer rain?
"By the way," started Noah as he kept looking at the moon in the sky. "Are you really single?"
"Why are you curious?" asked Vivienne. "You don't think I have been waiting for you, right?"
Noah laughed at that, "I know I am charming but I am still not narcissistic enough to think that you'd have been waiting for me. Especially, after the jerk move I pulled back then."
"Calling yourself charming and still saying that you aren't narcissistic? You're contradicting yourself, Mr. Sullivan."
Noah looked at the smile playing on her lips and couldn't move his eyes away again. She took another sip of the wine and seeing the remnants of the red wine on her supple lips, Noah's eyes narrowed slightly. He couldn't comprehend what he was feeling right now. Maybe it was because he drank too much tonight or maybe it was because she was truly looking gorgeous that he had felt compelled to get closer to her all this while.
He reminded himself to not fall deeper into it as if noticing his intense gaze, Vivienne's smile was restrained and she stared back at him, "What is it? Is something on my face? Why do you keep looking?" She bit her lower lip a bit nervously as her lashes fluttered.
Noah lost his restrain, cupped her face with his well-defined hand, and kissed her. Her soft lips were warm and he could taste the sensual flavor of the wine. Vivienne's eyes widened and she gasped in surprise as her body went still. She put her hand on Noah's chest as if she wanted to push him but for some reason, her hand just stayed there. This gave Noah even more courage as he bit her lower lip lightly, seeking a response from her.
Instinctively, Vivienne opened her mouth and let him in. She moaned and kissed him back with equal fervor. He had only pulled away when she started to feel lightheaded because of the lack of oxygen.
Looking at her flushed face, Noah smirked at her as his thumb pad rubbed her lips softly. "I think tonight's wine is certainly more intoxicating than my whiskey."
Vivienne mentally smacked herself for losing her control. Instead of pushing him, she actually wanted to pull him closer. What was she even thinking? She really lost her mind seeing him.
No, you can't do this, Vee! This is a trap! It's a very bad idea. You can't fall into the same place twice or you won't be able to face yourself ever again!
But when his warm hand went to her cheek, gently caressing it, Vivienne lost all her reasoning and closed her eyes to feel the moment.
His face came closer to hers again and she could feel his breath on the side of her face as he whispered, "You look beautiful." Vivienne shuddered as his lips brushed against her ear.
As he placed his forehead against hers and continued his slow caressing on her cheek, Vivienne finally made up her mind and opened her eyes to stare right back at him. "Are you drunk?" she inquired resolutely.
"Maybe," he responded in a soft voice.
"Then do you know who I am?" she asked further.
He saw the urgency in her eyes as if this was a very important question to her right now. Although he didn't understand why, he still replied, "I'm drunk, not blind. I was only blind in the past. Now my eyes work perfectly fine."
"Then tell me who I am?"
"Vivienne Pearl."
When she heard her name from his mouth, she threw caution to the wind. As long as he knew who she was, she didn't damn about the consequences of the impulsiveness that was taking over her right now. So, she took the initiative and claimed his lips taking Noah by surprise.
"You better not regret this tomorrow," whispered Vivienne against Noah's lips. Noah chuckled huskily in response and replied, "I won't. Who would regret kissing a beautiful woman? They had to be a fool. And I certainly ain't one."Vivienne smiled and bit his lips making him grunt, Noah's eyes darkened at her action before he claimed her lips once again. His other hand tugged her hair gently, angling her head for better access to her luscious lips that he seemed to be craving more than whiskey at this moment. He was slowly losing his sanity, not understanding whether it was because of the whiskey he consumed or because of the intoxicating taste of wine on her lips. Which ever one it was, he was willing to lose himself into it, indulge in this moment.Vivienne groaned softly at the sudden but uncontrollable sensation that she felt in the pit of her stomach which was so unfamiliar to her. It was like she was having her first kiss. She felt like a novice being led by his rhythm. Her hand
Noah's heart pounded erratically as he gazed at her under the dim lights. Her eyes were closed, and her lips, slightly parted and swollen from his kisses, made her look irresistibly alluring. He was kissing her passionately throwing all the thoughts behind him. His well-defined hands roamed around her body and she did the same to him. Noah actually felt himself shivering a little because of her soft fingers. His hand slipped back down to her sensitive areas and started massaging it. He stood up at the foot of the bed and began unbuckling his pants slowly and seductively. His gaze was still locked with hers. He gently eased his briefs off of him.He watched as her eyes moved from his eyes downwards and settled on his manhood that was proudly on display right before her eyes. She slowly licked her swollen and red lips making the temperature rise around them and making no effort to hide her desires. But in the end, Vivienne still looked away from his proud manhood with a tinge of shynes
Because of her tightness, Noah had to be extra patient and it also took an extra effort as his face sweated but his eyes were still full of desire. He showered her with butterfly kisses and whispered sweet nothings. With much patience and effort, he managed to settle inside her core but didn't instantly start moving. He first let her get used to his length and girth. He didn't rush the process even once giving her enough time to be ready. Buried deep inside her warm cave, Noah actually felt a sense of satisfaction as he couldn't help saying, "Baby, you feel so good."Vivienne had already gotten used to his inexplicable words during this time so, she didn't bother saying anything. Instead, she moved her hips against him, inviting him to move and stop enjoying the slow process that was killing her. With a grunt, Noah began to move inside of her slowly at first and then after a couple more pushes as Vivienne began to feel more comfortable with his member inside of her core, her moans we
The soft glow of the dawn filtered through the curtain, casting a gentle light in the room. Noah woke up and slowly, his senses came alive, and he became aware of the warmth and softness pressed against his chest. Vivienne was nestled in his arms, her head resting on his chest, her silky chestnut hair cascading over them both. He could feel her steady breath against his skin, each exhale, a whisper of comfort and intimacy.Noah wondered if he had been celibate for too long for him to yearn for this serene comfort and intimacy. His heart beat erratically as he gazed down at her peaceful sleeping face. Her elegantly arched eyebrows relaxed, and her long, curly eyelashes cast shadows beneath her eyes, accentuating her pert nose and full lips. He almost etched every single detail of her facial features into his mind with his intense gaze as if he were looking at her for the first time. As memories of last night flooded his mind, he felt like this might not be their first meeting but it h
Noah seemed to even remember the hurtful look in Vivienne's eyes at that moment. The air around them was cool and fresh, filled with the earthy scent of the forest and the faint sweetness of blooming wildflowers. But all his attention was on the way she looked at him. His words were like sharp knives that pierced through her heart, stabbing at her sincere and innocent feelings towards him.'There is really no need to continue,' Vivienne's voice was barely a whisper but in the silence around them, Noah was able to hear it clearly. She looked into his blue eyes and said, 'Don't worry. I won't pester you. You won't hear about my feelings for you ever again. I know we can't go back to the way we were after this confession but I also hope that you won't hold this against me. I really just wanted to tell you about my feelings at this place.' She gestured to the fireflies and the lake, she had spent the past two days looking for this perfect place in the camping site. She thought that even if
After closing the glass door of the room, Vivienne gave a last look to Noah's sleeping figure before decisively turning her head around to leave. She was glad that Noah's bedroom had this separate way out which allowed her to escape without having to find her way out of this mansion. But she still didn't dare wear her heels just yet. Only after going down the stairs did she wear her heels and sighed in relief. The cool morning air brushed against her skin as she made her way down the gravel path towards the road. The sky was the canvas of pink and orange hues, the world still quiet and untouched by the day's hustle. She walked briskly, her mind racing with thoughts of the night before and complicated feelings that now entangled her heart. Suddenly, she felt water droplets falling and raised her head to see if it was raining. That's when she came across a woman who held a water hose and apologized, "Sorry, I didn't see you there."Vivienne wiped the water droplets from her face and sh
"What do you mean by you're not coming?" asked Vivienne in a serious voice as her perfectly shaped brows scrunched up a little. "I was on my way but my editor suddenly wants me to make some changes to my article. It's not like I'm purposely doing this, Vivi," Aurora's tone over the phone was still as light and melodious as always. "Don't forget that I'm only here for you," reminded Vivienne as she felt like her forgetful best friend was overlooking this very important fact. "I know and I'm sorry for not being there with you," replied Aurora sincerely. "But Vivi, you can still go inside. Angie is also your high school friend too. Even if it's been years since you saw her, she still went out of her way to invite you to her wedding. There won't be any high school acquaintances there. If you didn't come, it'd be one thing but you made an effort to come to the door. Don't you think it'd be bad if you left just like that?" "I..." Vivienne seemed to be hesitating before she said, "I c
Contrarily, if there was someone she truly longed to see again from high school, it was also this man sitting beside her, Noah Sullivan. How to put it? Mmm... He was a very conflicted existence to her.He represented the complex blend of emotions for her.He was her first love and you know what they say about first love? No matter how far you run from it, a shadow of it always follows you and lives within you. First love leaves an indelible mark. Vivienne couldn't have agreed more with those sentiments. Noah occupied a special corner of her heart and despite her attempts to deny it, she couldn't ignore the influence he had on her. She couldn't just ignore what this special person had brought to her life and how it changed her life. With how her heart was beating erratically at the moment, at just the sight of him, she was certain that her heart still had a place for him. Despite her years of denial, at this moment, she couldn't deceive herself. It was impossible to lie about something
