Chapter 1

In the summer, the sun shines through every row of trees on the street. Emma walked on the sidewalk and wore a school uniform of the Royal School of A City. She had shoulder-length blond hair, blue eyes, and a standard body. Emma comes from a millionaire family in A city. Since she was born, she has been recognized as a little princess.

Emma has parents who love her the most. She is educated in the best school in the country. She is like a doll living in a glass cage…Emma is a very gentle, obedient, and disciplined girl. She is also the pride of her mother, and she can play the piano very well – the instrument that her mother loves. Her father is a businessman from A city, and Emma's mother is a famous pianist.

She has smooth white skin because living in a cold country, Emma's beauty is more like a hidden white snowflake. She is seventeen years old this year, a young girl who has never been exposed to the outside world. Emma's life revolves around studying at the Royal School, taking piano lessons, and attending church with her mother to pray.

There were times when Emma wanted to be freed from her present life, but she couldn't… She couldn't leave her parents.

Emma looked up at the sky, at the clouds floating in it. The pigeons were flying freely. She wanted to be too… She wanted to be free.

"Emma! Emma! Here!"

Someone is calling her name. Emma paced back and forth, and in the distance was her mother, Mrs. Garcia. She looked at her watch; it was time for piano class at eighteen o'clock. Emma walked over to her mother's side, and Garcia smiled softly and pushed her into the car.

"Emma, your teacher said you are not in a good mood lately. Can you tell me?"

Emma was looking at the street suddenly because of her mother's question. She froze for a few seconds. She said.

"Mom, I'm fine…just a bit tired."

"Don't let your studies get in the way; you need to focus on learning the piano…." Mrs. Garcia stopped abruptly, looked at the daughter she loved the most, then continued.

"You are my mother's all. I will do everything for you if you can be so obedient forever."

'If you were obedient….'

'As long as you study well….'

'My angel…'

Emma was tired of hearing these words from her mother. Mrs. Garcia always wanted to raise her daughter to become an actual princess in real life. Emma has lived in the family castle since childhood, wholly isolated from the outside world, and she is like a doll in a glass cage. No one can touch her...

Emma wanted so badly to escape that suffocating castle, she had thought about it, but she was still too young…Emma was only 16 years old.

The carriage rolled up to a castle on the city's outskirts, where Emma lived. In an ancient white castle, like in a fairy tale, living in a luxurious place with servants and servants, Emma is truly a princess. Her mother dragged her into the house. Except for an old housekeeper, the servants were empty in the home. Her father was on a business trip to Toronto, and only Emma, her mother, and her younger brother were in the house.

Emma looked at her house, and there was no warmth at all. It was just an inanimate luxurious castle. She entered the piano room, and the teacher had been waiting for a long time. Emma said nothing but sat down next to the teacher. From inside the room, the piano's sounds reverberated throughout the white castle. In a piece of music played with the Non-Legato technique, Emma plays a song with not too sad content, but when combined with the Non-Legato technique, it is like an inner lament.

Yes, it was Emma's heart. She doesn't want to live forever in this stuffy castle, becoming a princess with a meaningless life and waiting for a prince to come to rescue her.

The following day, Emma woke up early, had breakfast, put on her school uniform, and sneaked out of the castle. No one noticed it; this was the first time she had done this. The mood was a bit nervous. Before she left, she left a message to her mother that she would go to school by herself by subway. She also knew there was CCTV in the house that would capture the scene, so she did not try to avoid CCTV.

Walking on the busy street, Emma quietly looked at the city in front of her. The wide roads, multi-billion dollar skyscrapers, and cars were running through the streets. Among thousands of passersby, Emma stands out from the crowd. She is not very special height but has skin as white as snow, deep blue soulful eyes, and rosy red lips.

Just like a princess coming out of a fairy tale.

Emma looked at her phone; it was only seven o'clock in the morning. It wasn't time for school yet. She bought a subway ticket and waited on the bench.

"Huh-uh…huh…mom…mom…."

A cry came from far. Emma didn't know if it was a boy's or a girl's. The train would arrive in ten minutes, and she decided to go toward the cry…

It was a small, dimly lit corridor, and Emma saw a small figure of a boy in the corner. Maybe the boy lost his mother, so she sat there crying. She walked up to the boy, gently touched him, and asked.

"Um…boy…Are you okay?"

The boy raised his head, his clear eyes looking straight into Emma's face, and she could see a line of tears rolling down the boy's cheek. Emma got down on one knee and faced the boy, she said.

"Have you lost your mother? What is your name?"

The boy wiped his tears away, sobbing.

"Ro…Robert…My name is Robert…."

"Okay…Robert, where is your house? What's your mother's name?"

The boy heard the word 'mom' and suddenly froze, but soon he cried louder. Emma was confused. She didn't know what to do with this child. She looked around, but no one was there. Emma bit her bottom lip… Her social skills were so poor that she didn't know how to handle these situations.

Emma wanted to be a good person, but she couldn't.

"I…huh…I don't know where my house is…mom…huhu…." The baby cried louder. Emma heard footsteps from upstairs and knew someone was coming down. She felt lucky. If someone helps this child, she can go to school now!

Emma stroked Robert's hair, then went upstairs. Someone was standing there!

Emma said.

"Hi!!! I need some help…Can you help me??"

It's a man! He wore an oversized cap and a black mask. Emma couldn't see his face. She could only smell the faint cigarette on his shirt and looked at the man in front of her.

Through his eyes, Emma saw a sharp look…like a hungry wolf. But she quickly regained her composure, keeping her distance from the man, Emma explained.

"There is a lost child. He is below…Can…can you help that child?"

"Yes."

He nodded slowly in agreement. Emma seemed to have found a lifeline. She returned to the corner where that child named Robert had been sitting since earlier. After giving this baby to this man, she can ride the subway and go to school as planned.

Her steps were faster, more urgent than ever. Emma did an excellent job without her parents, and she felt happy this was the first time. Without her parents, she could still be fine. Emma wants her mother to know that she won't be a doll forever adopted by her mother...She wants to be a butterfly, break her cocoon and be free to be herself.

But…the legs suddenly stopped…

"That…that boy…that boy was here just a minute ago!!!"

That kid named Robert is gone! Not even a trace left! Before, she had seen a puddle of water at the boy's feet, but now that she had returned, the place was as dry as ever!

Emma stared at the place, turning her head to explain to the man following her. But suddenly! In front of her was a pitch-black void! Emma panicked!

After that, Emma seemed to have fallen into a coma. She could not realize what was in front of her eyes. A trap…that kid is from the same organization as this man…
