Chapter 2

"Sir, sir, have you seen her yet?"

Tyr turned to look at Hades, his face showing confusion.

"Her?" He asked, still puzzled as he looked at Hades' excited countenance. Hades was practically giggling and jumping.

"Neith!"

The name immediately rang a bell. They've known Neith ever since they started their training in the organization.

Well, not really.

Neith was introduced to them as their classmate. For some reason, she was the only one in her class. Having a team and being able to work well within it is a big part of their job so the higher-ups inserted her into the new class. They were told that she had already finished her training, but she would join their classes.

Well, again, not really.

She didn't actually "join" them. She merely observed them through the camera lens of a small device that was like a smartphone but only had that one function of letting her see and hear everything the class did.

Their entire class was a bit indignant towards this. They thought it would have been better if she were actually present in their lectures and training. It would actually line up with their reason of “having to work with a team” as it would familiarize her with everyone and develop a rapport that works.

They have voiced this concern to their seniors, but it was shut down with no hesitation.

"It will all work out fine. You'll see when you meet her." This was what they told her.

They were quite curious about her at the beginning. She never showed her face and when she spoke it was with a voice changer. They knew nothing about her except her codename. However, after 2 years, their curiosity waned. They've learned to ignore the existence of the device that represented her and they've pretty much forgotten about her already until a week ago when it was announced that she'd finally be actually joining them.

Right, today is the day she was said to arrive.

Their interest was piqued again. Some are genuinely looking forward to it while some aren’t. The few that didn't were a bit dissatisfied with her. Their thought was that she'd ruin the balance that is in place within their team as she was never one of them. She never went through anything with them while they all went through everything together which helped them form their bond, trust, and the tacit understanding they have between them.

Týr is one of the some that are looking forward to it, but only because he's curious. He didn't feel anything toward the woman. No love, no hate, just indifference... and maybe some curiosity.

After remembering all this, Tyr went into a perplexed state again.

From what he could recall, Hades was one of the few that were dissatisfied with her sudden appearance.

Týr was immersed in his thoughts for almost two minutes, but Hades' excitement was still bursting out from his face and body.

Hades didn't dare to interrupt Tyr's thoughts. While they were classmates, Týr was still their leader. Hence, the "sir".

Tyr looked at Hades and raised one of his eyebrows. Looking at Hades inquisitively; curious as to why his attitude towards this mystery of a woman took a complete 180° turn.

There was not a slight trace of animosity or annoyance. Everything was replaced with this enthusiasm. Hades looked like a teenage girl who saw a very handsome man and fell in love at first si...

It finally dawned on him.

"No, what's she like?" He asked, smirking as he was confident that he knew the word that would come out of Hades' mouth.

His guesses were pretty, beautiful, hot, or gorge-

"Majestic!"

Tyr was dumbfounded.

The fuck?

Who in God's green earth describes a human as majestic?

Gaia, who followed Hades when he went looking for Tyr after their encounter with Neith, suddenly burst into laughter after being silent all this while.

Hades turned around confused and annoyed. He glared at Gaia and she immediately tried to stifle her laughter.

Tyr was a bit befuddled again. Was Hades playing a joke on him? Was Neith actually hideous? Then why would Hades look so lovesick if that were the case?

Before he could settle on that conclusion, Gaia's slightly deep and low voice rang out.

"Well, he's not wrong."

'Huh?'

"I was just laughing because you seemed so thrown off after he said the word."

Tyr's interest subconsciously increased. How good does this woman look that these idiots would describe her as "majestic".

"Where is she?" Tyr suddenly asked without knowing it himself. He was quite surprised with himself but hid it from his face.

Hades suddenly became alert. This confused Tyr but not Gaia. She knew Hades was already head over heels infatuated with Neith.

"I called dibs already." Hades shouted, almost like a spoiled brat.

Tyr and Gaia looked at him incredulously.

"Neith is not an object. Why are you calling dibs on her?"

Gaia tsked and walked away. She'd had enough of this clown show.

Tyr was a bit disappointed with Hades too.

"Hades!" Tyr reprimanded.

Hearing this, Hades realized his mistake. He put his head down in embarrassment.

"Sorry, I just got excited. But you know what I mean. There's a bro code. You don't go after the girl your friend likes." Hades' voice getting smaller towards the end.

Tyr just laughed dryly.

'This idiot. I'm not as superficial as him.' Tyr thought.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna go after her. I'll meet her soon anyway. I gotta go."

There was a welcome ceremony for her and a bit of gathering after with some food, music, and drinks. There's no rush, he thought.

The welcome ceremony was a bit odd to them at first since she's one of them and is merely an agent, but they dismissed it as they knew how much the seniors like having any excuse to celebrate and drink.

Hades was not at all relieved. He sensed Tyr's interest, or curiosity at the very least, towards Neith and there are still 8 other guys in their team besides Hades and Tyr.
