EIGHTY ONE

While the mood goes too emotional, I spotted Terry not getting into this happy moment. I pulled back from the family hug. "Hey guys, can you leave for a moment? I want to talk to Terry."

Everyone saw how serious my tone was and walked out. Before he left with the others, Logan planted a quick kiss and told me he would be outside if I needed anything.

Once everyone left as Logan closed the door. It was just Terry and me.

I say straight up as Terry stands there with his hands behind his back. It was quiet and awkward. Honestly, I'm nervous, but I got to let it all out and ask. I want to know if Terry's the person from my childhood. Pivoted flashbacks in my mind as I remembered the older girl.

"Terry?"

"Yes?" He answered formally.

Where are you from?

"London."

"You don't have an accent. Where were you born there?"

"No."

I bite my lower lip. "Okay, where were you born?"

"Long Beach."

I inhaled and let out the air. "Have you lived in a foster home with a family called the Brayden?"
