Coming back

                                                                         April knew that Mateo was playing with her emotions, she knew he wanted to have the last laugh but she wouldn't let it happen, at least not for tonight.

"All a lie you say?" She muttered softly, reached out and casually touched his shoulder, caressing it lightly and without meaning to, Mateo sucked in a breath and leaned into her touch.

April's brow rose in amusement at the new discovery that it was quite easy to lead him on and his strong headedness was a facade.

Despite how unaffected he claimed to be, she could still tell that her little effort was doing it's job.

Mateo's subconsciously eyes drifted to her lips which he noticed were now parted and his throat bobbed. He felt like reaching out and taking those lips in his and kissing her senseless.

He didn't understand his body anymore. It was like his body was a traitor, acting only on April's command. 

He had just met her today but she had somehow managed to have him at the palm of her hands.

He tried to fight off the strange feeling but all his restraints flew out the window as April raised her head up and pressed her lips to his softly and drew back almost immediately to observe his reaction. 

April smiled victoriously when she saw the frown of displeasure on his face as she pulled away. He didn't like that the kiss was brief.

'So I really do have an effect on him' she smiled to herself.

She finally decided to stop teasing him and do what she had in mind.  April wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him a little bit closer before she kissed him to which he responded immediately.

Their lips danced in harmony as if they were made for each other and Mateo didn't wish for it to end.

After a few seconds, April tried to pull away from the kiss as she had made her point clear but she was unable to. Mateo's arms around her waist pulled her close to him and kissed her with much more ferocity. Their bodies pressed so tightly against each other such that even air wouldn't be able to pass between them.

Mateo came to a realization that no matter how much he kissed her in the past, he just couldn't get enough.

His hands was everywhere up her back and over her arms as he kissed her harder, deeper and with a fervent urgent need than one she had ever known before.

Finally satiated, Mateo pulled back, his eyes hazy with lust and he stared at April with an unrecognizable emotion in his eyes.

He opened his mouth to speak but April who was more composed, beat him to it. "Is this also a lie?" She smiled softly 

"I--"

"Dear husband, you're not the only one who can play the game. I am good at it too" Her smile widened as she stared at him in defiance. Mateo's face showed that he didn't expect her to pull up on him like that.

April took a step back and her face turned serious. "I didn't get married to you because I want to. I got married to you because I was in dire need of money. We both have our respective goals, I hope you understand and leave it that way and also stay out of each other's business"

When she was done speaking, she walked to her bed and laid down underneath the comforter while Mateo stood on his spot as if shocked from what had just happened.

Soon, he came back to his senses and walked out of the door without a word.

April let out the sigh she had been holding. She didn't know what gave her the courage to display what just happened but she was glad she did.

The whole time she was with Mateo, her heart was pounding in her chest but with her attitude, she just couldn't step down for him.

But she knew that definitely it wouldn't repeat itself because everyone knew that Mateo had a reputation and she didn't want to offend him just because she was his bride. She was just lucky to get off the hook this time.

April's thoughts were interrupted by the beeping of her phone, signifying that she had a new message. She had wanted to ignore it and just go to bed but on a second thought, she decided to check it out and sleep afterwards. So she picked up her phone and read the message.

The message she read was one that left her both confused and in panic.

'I'll be coming back the day after tomorrow. I can not wait to see you. I missed you and I love you so very much' the message read.

Eric, her fiance was coming back for her but she had just gotten married!
