Elena's POV I look over my work and nod in approval at my handy work. I just finished bandaging the last wound from the fight."Thank you so much Elena," the pack member says as he hops off the medical bed. "No problem," I say. He then walks off to the rest of the pack. I look around and admire all the members that Noah and I have been taking care of, that risked their lives in today's fight. These loyal men and women have a special place in my heart. They are my new family and I couldn't be happier.A strong hand rests on my shoulder and turns me around. I am met with Noah's soft brown eyes. He gives me a small smile in which I return.I then pull him to me and hug him. He's tense at first before he relaxes and returns it.When we release each other he speaks."Elena, I'm so glad you're okay. I was so worried about you."My heart warms at his words. "Thanks Noah. I'm glad you made it out ok as well. I don't know what I would do if I didn't see your smile everyday when I entered the
5 years later...Elena's POV"Ok I think that's everything for me," I say.I slam my suitcase shut and slap my hands together to rid the imaginary dust from my hands.I then place them on my hips and smile at the view that's in front of me."Honey what are you doing?" I laugh.A small giggle comes from the other suitcase and two big green eyes peek out through a thin opening.I move closer to the suitcase and the giggles grow louder. I lift the top up and scream, "Peek a boo!"The child jumps out of the suitcase and lands on her back laughing at what she finds to be hilarious.I can't help but join her. Her laughter is too contangious. As our laughter begins to die down the door to mine and Pierson's bedroom opens. The sight that comes before me takes my breath away just like it always has and for what I feel always will.My husband slash mate stands before us in all his glory. His dark hair is tousled and his green eyes sparkle spectacularly. He crosses his arms over his broad chest g
"Get your αss up you worthless piece of sh!t!" my so called "father" hollers from downstairs. I open my eyes awaking from my nap and sigh escaping the serenity of my dreams. I lie there awake before getting up obediently from the warmth of my bed and trudge down the steps that leads me to the blaring voice. "Why isn't my dinner ready yet?" he asks as soon as I enter the kitchen. I look towards him and take in his appearance, oily brown hair, glossy red eyes, and the same clothes he's been wearing for the last two days. "Drunk again," I think to myself. When I don't answer his question he goes on to tell me that I'm worthless just like my mother was. I try really hard to ignore his hurtful comment and turn to the fridge to get out the ham, cheese, and mayo for sandwiches and lay it out on the counter. I head to the pantry to grab the bread and see him from the corner of my eye stand from his seat at the table and start to make his way towards me. As he stands in front of me I take
I hear a loud shrieking sound and open my eyes and groan looking for the deafening sound.I look to my left and on my bedside table I see the culprit ringing and vibrating telling me that it's time to wake up. I reach my hand over and slide the bar on my phone to silence the obnoxious sound.I look at the time and date and lay back down looking up at the ceiling. "Happy birthday to me...whoppee," I say sarcastically into the still air. I lay there for a few more minutes before I decide to get out of bed and walk to my bathroom to start the shower.Once I see the steam coming out from the top of the curtain I take off my clothes and get in.It feels so refreshing, like yesterday was wiped away. This is my happy place and the only time where I can just be to myself and not have a care in the world.I stay in there until I start to get pruny and shut if off. I wrap a towel around myself and head back into my room to my closet. I decide on some dark blue skinny jeans with rips at the k
Pierson Kase Bryant. That's who's eyes I'm looking into. Two dark green emeralds staring intensely back at me.It feels like we're the only two people in the room and I'm just stuck there. I can't seem to move or look away. The air is tense and is sizzling with electricity around us. I'm suddenly extremely aware of my thunderous heartbeat. I can vaguely hear my name being chanted over and over again."Earth to E. Are you going to go sit down or what?" Em says exasperatedly. I snap out of my trance and remove my gaze from his to look at Em."Huh?" I look at her quizzically."I said are you going to sit down? I kinda don't want to stand here all day," she's says with a perfectly arched eyebrow.I look at her and after a minute I realize what she's saying."Uh y-yeah," I stutter not knowing what else to say.I make my way shakily across the room to my seat and steal a glance at Pierson. He's now staring at his desk like it's the most interesting thing in the world.I take my seat that'
Ten minutes after Pierson left I stayed in the same spot and cried till no more tears came out. After that I had to walk home with a tear streaked face.As I entered my house I remembered that I had to prepare dinner for the meeting tonight.I head to the kitchen and take notice of the silence in the house. All I can hear is the refrigerator running. I'm guessing my father isn't home. Good. I don't want him to see me like this.I push Pierson to the back of my mind for now, so I can get started on preparing the meal. I can go up to my room later and wallow in my pity in the comfort of my bed after this meeting is over. For dinner I decide to make a house salad, steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. After the meal is cooked I head upstairs and change before he gets here. A few moments later I can hear the door open downstairs telling me my father has arrived from wherever he went off to.I then change into a simple black cotton dress that ends just above my knees and pair it with
One month later...I haven't seen my dad as much lately because he's been at the pack house trying to find the rogues.I also haven't seen Pierson much either. He hardly makes it to the class we share and I never see him around the school. When I do see him he just looks at me, but makes no attempt to talk to me. Graduation is around the corner and it can't get here fast enough.Other than that life's been quiet. Although, a couple of weeks ago I got some really good news. I got a letter in the mail telling me I've been accepted into one of the best pre-med schools in the country. I also have been accepted into a pre-med internship program over the summer.I get to go to the continent of Africa and volunteer. I will be side by side with a licensed doctor there and will see first hand what it takes to become one. It sounds so exciting. I don't know if I should take it though. I mean I should. It's just I was planning to go off to school if I didn't find my mate, but I found him. Ugh
The following week after our talk I decided to set out and find Pierson. At the beginning of the week I had no such luck, but that all changed today. As I walk out of the school to go home I spot him near the football field. I can see him running one hundred yard dashes over and over again. I make my way over and watch him hunch over with his chest rising and falling rapidly. His naked, muscular torso is glistening with sweat. His cheeks are a light pink and his veins are popping out on his hands and forearms. When he reaches to wipe the sweat from his forehead his biceps bulge. How am I supposed to talk to him when he looks like that? I won't be able to concentrate. He must have sensed me there because he looks up at me and catches me red handed staring. My cheeks flush with embarrassment. Nice one Elena."Can I talk to you?" I say hesitantly, but he doesn't move or say anything. I can tell by his facial expression that he's debating whether to talk to me or not."Please," I try ag
