# 8...
The gates flew open and a beautiful kingdom came into view, it was peaceful and quiet; everyone seemed to be asleep. "Why are we here? I thought you said you wanted to go hunting?" I asked,I was already very fretful about Verin's sudden hunting desires.I was busy, pitying and praying for the poor animals to not meet this beast. He is completely worse and dreadful than those dangerous animals. They weren't troubling him, so why was he? He's so inhumane. He didn't answer me and just kept walking."Answer me" I urged him as I shook his arms. "You'll see" he said, still focused on his destination. The kingdom was very very silent, why wouldn't it be? It was freaking after midnight!!We got to a large palace. This one was glorious and very beautiful. Though it also had that hauntingly creepiness like Verin's, and it wasn't as spacious as his either, it was quite calmer. It was peaceful rather than scary like I had expected."This is where I'm hunting"he said as his lips curved up for a quick moment and returned to it's emotionless face.We got a huge room. It was the royal courtroom. Verin majestically sat on a white sofa chair that had an ash colour wolf painting at both handles. He rested his back on the body of the sofa and rested his chin on his right knuckles while the elbow rested on the handle. He acted like he was already getting bored while he waited for someone. Soon after a majestic King entered the courtroom.Everyone bowed and greeted him except for Verin. I didn't want to be unmannered so I decided to greet as well. As I bent my head to bow and greet Verin suddenly spoke. "Don't waste your energy for this whiff. You'll need them for me" he said, he gaze looking at the man with exasperation evident in his eyes. What happened now?"Speak " Verin said. The man then bowed at Verin and started talking. Is Verin also superior to this King? "Alpha, apologies for the inconvenience" the man started. Alpha? Why did he call him that?"You know the consequences of your actions" Verin suddenly spoke. "Yes... But-" "No more talks, Lewan..." Verin suddenly cuts him off. "Finish him off" he added. What? Just like that? He didn't even let the man speak when he literally asked him to do so! Suddenly..."No! Alpha please don't hurt my father. It is me who should be punished" A lady said running towards her father. She was beautiful, thin and curved. "Okay..." Verin suddenly sat up and leaned down, resting both elbows on his laps and his hands clicked together. His chin rested on his knuckles as he surveyed the young princess. "I will pardon your father... But on one condition..." He trailed off.My heart was pounding, what on earth did this King do? "Sleep with me" he added. The god of silence passed as everyone seemed to have held their breaths as well. "What?" The princess seemed shock and scared. I on the other side felt disgusted. "Yes what?" I asked as well."You heard me..." Verin yawned like a bored king as if what he just said wasn't a big deal. "But I'm betrothed to your brother" the princess could only say."Do you agree? I just need a 'yes or no' answer" he shrugged. The princess slowly shook her head, apologizing. She looked like she was scared of him. "Lewan... Kill him now... In front of everyone" he smiled like he was happy with what was happening. Lewan was about to do his bidding when I found myself screaming. "Verin no!!!" I was shocked at my own outburst but at that point I couldn't stand it. I just couldn't stand to see any one else dying in front of me. I quickly bowed and folded my hands together in front of me. "Apologies... Your Majesty" my heart was pounding. I took a quick peek and saw that he gave a sign to Lewan to pause. "If there's anyone who needs to be killed... Then it's me" I started. "Hmm, interesting... But why?" He asked, his eyes still looking at the duo kneeling on the floor in front of him."Because, I am your greatest enemy now. If I were you, you kill me, because if you don't..." I said, moving my hands upwards, crossing them over my chest."You will only be causing yourself to count your last days." I completed.I never thought I would be this brave, I was surprised myself at my courage. Verin laughed. His laugh echoed loudly in the room, causing everyone to flinch. His laughed like the devil himself. It was scary. "You really want me to think I should listen to you?" He smiled very devilishly. "Yes, because I hate you and I will make sure I make you pay for everything you did to me" I said, anger already filling my voice. If my anger is the reason I am being brave then I guess I'll not let it go.The room became graveyard silent, he then shifted his gaze towards me.I held my breath as he looked intensely into my eyes.He laughed again and then slammed his hands on the table in front of him. It was quite loud and the small debris fell to the floor, due to the impact of how he had banged on the table."You just insulted me maid... Which is bad" he said as he leaned back on the sofa. The courage where slowly dissipating within me as I could hear my heart beat with fear. My heartbeat was so loud and the place returned to its silence state that I thought everyone there could hear it as well. The anticipation was killing me. "Well... Since you don't want them dead and I also don't want to kill you. But you just insulted me..." He trailed off... As he stood up and quietly walked towards me, his hands in his pockets. His pace was ever so slowly."So your punishment is... For. You. To. Kill. Them" he said, stating each word so loud, enough for everyone to hear. Shock and horror was written on my face. I just knew nothing good will come out of his mouth!...Nayla's face drowned in dreadfulness. She was beyond shock. This man!!!"What? You can't do it?" He mocked her. Her mouth moved as she wanted to speak but only a whiff left her mouth. He took her hands and placed a dagger in her palms. "Do it... It's an order" he said, voice domineering. She was so scared and shocked. Her shaky hands took to the sword and then the anger returned. She then swung the daggers and pointed its sharp tip at his chest. She wanted to pierce it deep in his chest where his heart lies. "Do it if you dare" he thundered. She looked at him in the eyes and she saw it. A slight hint of sadness and gladness mixed together. This was the first time she saw his eyes have these emotions. His eyes were always blank, like he was soulless. She felt her heart somewhat normal by just looking at them. She didn't feel scared again. She could see pain in those pair of golden eyes. Her hands slowly moved and she removed the dagger from his chest. "I can't kill you" she s
Nayla felt her head spin. She thought she was in a bad dream, she forced herself to pinch her hands hard and flinch a little from the pain. It was real!! The loupman looked at her, his eyes showing his desires of bloodlust. He started running towards her side, pure anger evident in his eyes. She could not move, her feet was rooted to the ground. 'Verin!!!' she found her heart calling his name. She didn't know why but she felt she needed him, she was supposed to be happy she would die, since that's what she had wanted but now she wanted to be alive. She kept calling his name as if she was begging for his presence. Suddenly, just few more steps away she felt strong hands pulled her into his embrace. She tilted her head up to look at him, it was Verin. Her heart returned to her body, in pure calmness. She hugged him back, not wanting to let go. He patted her head gently as he calmed her down. "Where were you? Where did you go? Thank God you're here!" She started talking, her voice
" How did you get the gossip?" Nayla cuts in. "I have maid friends" Nayla was in a trance for a while. He didn't acquire her like the others. Maybe he's not that bad? No! He must have just been tired I guess. She thought to herself. Cherrie started dozing off and Nayla gave her chance to sleep in the room that was provided for them both. As she tried to give her a quiet environment and exit herself, the girl's hand caught her wrist. "Don't go, I'm still scared please" she begged. Nayla decided to stay and offered her laps as a pillow for the young girl. Verin barged in without knocking, Nayla turned to look at him. He stood at the door and just stared at her. "We ar-" "Shhhh! She's sleeping." Nayla cuts him off with a whisper. It has been a while so the teenager was already fast asleep. Nayla gently removed her laps from her head and replaced it with a pillow. She slowly climbed off the bed. She walked up to Verin. "Are you ready to go? Or you're still going for another huntin
"But on one condition" he added his smile now turning into a smirk. No way!!! It's not fair! "I shouldn't have given myself high hopes on you" I pouted out. His laugh echoed in the hall, pausing everyone from their business. "Are you in or not?" He asked me. I didn't know if I should agree or not and just remained quiet. "What is the condition?" I asked. "You will have to entertain me when I return" "But how?""You know what I mean, my sexy maid" he grinned seductively at me" I need to get going. Let's go Kera" he said and started leaving. He was done already? I watched his broad back facing me, hypnotizing me with his overwhelming, otherworldly beauty. "Listen maid... I know you're just a maid but I don't know why I feel like you're a threat. STAY AWAY FROM VERIN!" I heard Kera whisper behind my back, jolting me from my trance. I turned to look at her. "How can I stay away when he's always around me?" I could only ask. "I don't care just mind the way you go around him. He's of
They were dumbstrucked to see that someone managed to tease this Mr Serious. "Okay, okay fine your name is pretty too" she smiled at him. Adam, already frustrated, walked out of the hall. Lyla turned to Nayla. "Aren't you hungry? Why haven't you touched your food?" She asked her. "Oh yes, I am" she smiled at her as she took her fork to start eating her food. She then looked at Lyla "Umm, no offense but I have a question." She said. "Okay?..." Lyla answered. "Who are you here? Like I haven't seen you around. And neither of you" she added as she pointed at the two other good-looking guys. "I'm Verin's stepmother and those are his step brothers except for Adam" Lyla replied. Nayla paused and just looked at them. "What of Verin's father and mother?" She asked. "They're dead" Getshan said with a pitiful face. She was shocked. She didn't know what to say. That was when she started having this feeling like she was sad. Why was she sad for no reason and all of a sudden? Was she sad for th
"Let me first clean up, please""No. I'm hungry and I don't want to be waiting""But-""Go get me my food rather than being ungrateful that I didn't punish you for walking up late and sleeping on my bed"I was angry, why can't he just stop being a pest. I murmured frustratedly as I dashed out of the room. I tried my very best not to engage in any conversation as I felt dirty. All I needed to do was to bring his food quickly so I can clean up. I reached the kitchen and quietly whispered to Yulia to help me with Verin's meal. She handed the trolley filled with food on it and I quickly hurried through the hallway. Then an idea popped up in my head. "He's troubling me, this early morning. Ughhhhh, I will give him a taste of his own medicine" I said to myself. I went back to the kitchen and sneakily took a bottle of chili peppers. I sprinkled almost half of it in one part of his food. As he ate, I quickly jumped into the bathroom. Ahh finally... Some refreshing feeling. I was busy taki
This man was a total definition of shamelessness. The gown was very short. He had purposely given her the short dress. It's length ended just few inches after her hip line. Exposing her fresh, sweet laps and thighs. "But why?""Because I want my maid who always stay around me to be beautiful""Who told you beauty lies in short and skimpy dresses?""It matters when it comes to you, baby girl " he smiled at her. The last words that came out of his lips rendered her speechless once more. "Done " he said as he elegantly straightened up and looked at her. "Climb up the tree" he ordered her. "Why?" She creased her brows. "Oh you want to stay there so when the tiger comes, it would hunt you instead?" He smirked. He was right but what? Tiger? She walked towards the tree and started climbing it. Verin had want to help her but he was astonished to see she was an excellent climber. "You didn't tell me you can climb a tree" he uttered, surprised. "You didn't bother to ask" she snorted. He
"It's fun, Nayla. It's fun!" He answered, equanimity showing in his face. The place became graveyard silent. Nayla looked into his eyes as she crossed the distance between them. She stepped on the leg of one of the tigers and jumped in fright. She stopped a few steps away. The first thing she looked for was his fingernails. She was shocked to see them retreating back, just like that lycanthrope in that night. "You..." She tried making a sentence. Verin looked at her, patiently waiting for whatever she wants to say. His heart seemed to be scared, due to the never ending poundings. He felt scared, like he didn't want her to say or know anything about him yet. He knew that she had her doubts about him not being normal but he didn't want to tell her anything yet."You're not... Normal" she finally managed to say the words. "You know all along, why acting surprised?" He tried to hide his fears by smirking at her as if not bothered that she knows something. She was quiet. Yes... He was
