Chapter 5

Three days passed and Hunter decided to go to his parent's house, he couldn't contact Piper to ask for help, and Piper also forbade him from coming to her place before his business was finished.

It's been a year since his father continued to match him with an Omega he didn't like, even her scent was enough to bother him.

Hunter entered his parents' luxurious house, he was greeted by the maids but his purpose in coming was only to say something he had planned.

"Where's daddy?" Hunter said.

"I will call Mr. David,” The mate said and left Hunter in the living room.

He saw a large photo frame displayed in the living room, his family was very happy when his mother was still alive. But everything changed after she left.

“You finally came, have you changed your mind now? You and your sister are the same, no one cares about me, you just fight me," David said, he approached Hunter on the couch and sat near him.

“You know exactly why we are like that,” Hunter said.

“Are you still blaming me for your mother's death? I'm just as hurt as you," David said.

"Enough, I don't want to hear those excuses anymore, I just came to ask you to stop, Dad I'm no longer a child, what you did was very shameful, I'm an Alpha and this is my life, you probably don't know how it feels because you chose a Beta, But I know exactly how it feels when you have to deal with such a disgusting scent," Hunter said.

“Watch your words! You should be grateful that her family is willing to accept you, I can get all the facilities you have, this is easy for me, you are not a hardworking Alpha, you just hide behind my wealth," David said.

"I just came to say that I would marry another girl," Hunter said, he got up from his chair and was about to leave but his father held him back.

"Who is that girl?" David said.

"I will bring her to you, so stop setting me up with that omega, and if you want to withdraw the facilities I have, do it, I don't care," Hunter said and left from there.

Meanwhile, in another place, Sadie is busy helping her grandmother at her house. Since Piper and Sharon went on holiday, Sadie has only been spending time at home. It's been 3 days and she doesn't know what to do other than knitting to fill her time.

"Ah, this is very tiring," Sadie said, she was tidying her grandmother's room at the time.

“Get me the photo album,” Mia said.

“No,” Sadie said, she leaned back on the bed and closed her eyes.

“Don't you miss your mother? I miss her,” Mia said.

“Because she's your daughter,” Sadie said.

"Yes, and because of her I can see you here, don't you realize that I have taken care of half of your life?" Mia said.

"I just don't want to remember the past, it hurts me, they don't want me, they're selfish," Sadie said.

"They must also be tormented by their choice, no one wants to divorce, when someone gets married it is because they want to live together until death do them part, but there must be a reason why they decided to stop," Mia said.

"Whatever the reason, it doesn't make sense to me, if they can't solve the problem why do they have to divorce? Just fight, they can make up afterward, but don't divorce," Sadie said.

It was getting late, they were enjoying their dinner, only with omelets and sausages like usual days.

“And Sadie,” Mia said.

"Yes, Grandma?" Sadie said.

“About that man, what is his name? Ah Hunter,” Mia said.

"What's wrong with him?" Sadie said.

"Did you never see him again?" Mia said.

"Of course not, after that time he never came to the shop, and I'm happy because he doesn't come here anymore, he's a strange guy, why did he follow me here, ah I should have told Mrs. Piper,” Sadie said.

"He seems like a nice guy, he doesn't seem strange at all to me," Mia said.

"So following someone to their house to stay the night isn't strange for you?" Sadie said.

“No, that's strange but aren't you curious why he's following you? I mean, he came here because he followed you from the store, right? And he wants to say something to you, ah, didn't he say he wanted to say something to you at that time? What did he say at that time that made you throw him out?” Mia said.

"Aish, grandma, why are you discussing that guy now? I don't remember what he was talking about, but I know he just wanted to stay here for no reason," Sadie said and suddenly the bell rang.

"Let me open the door," Sadie said and when she opened the door she was surprised to see the figure in front of her.

"You! What are you doing here? And what is this?” Sadie said.

“Hi,” Hunter said.

“Hi? Aish, what are you doing here?” Sadie said.

“I just wanted to give these flowers and pizza to your grandma, where is she? I missed her,” Hunter said and forced his way past Sadie.

“Wait! What are you doing?" Sadie said and followed Hunter to the dining table.

“Oh Hunter, what are you doing?” Mia said.

“Hi Grandma, I brought you pizza and flowers, but it looks like you just finished dinner,” Hunter said.

“Get out of my house now!” Sadie said.

“Why should I get out of here? I'm a guest and you should welcome me well," Hunter said.

"Are you kidding me?" Sadie said.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Hunter said.

“I'll call the police and have them get you out of here!” Sadie said.

“Sadie, sit down you don't need to do that, and thanks for the flowers and pizza, have you had dinner?” Mia said.

"Oh really? Grandma!!” Sadie said.

"Go to your room if you don't want to see me here," Hunter said and he sat down next to Mia before opening his pizza box.

“No! You might do something bad with my grandma, I’ll stay here!” Sadie sat in front of him with an annoyed face.

"I thought about you when I came back from my parents' house, and I remembered that I promised to bring you pizza, so I immediately bought it for you, I don't know what flavor you like but I had to make sure my choice wasn't wrong," Hunter said.

“Thanks, Hunter,” Mia said.

“Anytime, Grandma,” Hunter said.

“What's your real intention huh?” Sadie said.

"What do you mean?" Hunter said.

“I'm sure you have other intentions, tell me what is your purpose in doing all this?” Sadie said.

"Is doing good something wrong?" Hunter said.

"It's not wrong, but if you did it that would be very suspicious to me," Sadie said.

"That's because you don't want to talk to me, so you don't know what I mean by coming here, I don't have any bad intentions, I just want to get to know you and your family well, I know you're just a worker at my sister’s place but I also need to know who you are," Hunter said.

"Oh really?" Sadie said with a small laugh.

“What answer do you want to hear besides that, huh?” Hunter said.

"Hey stop, eat this pizza before it gets cold, I'm going to go to my room to rest, my back hurts," Mia said.

“Go, we want to rest,” Sadie said.

"Sadie, he's my guest so don't chase him away like that," Mia said.

“But grandma—”

“I'll stay here and finish the pizza before I go home, good night Grandma,” Hunter said.

"What?" Sadie said and she helped the grandmother to her room.

Sadie returned to the dining table and saw Hunter busy eating the pizza in front of her, he looked at Sadie and asked her to sit and eat with him like friends.

"I don't know what your purpose is in coming here but to be honest it bothers me, I know you are Mrs. Piper’s brother but that doesn't mean we're friends, and this sucks, you can leave after you finish your pizza," Sadie said and as she was about to go to her room, Hunter held her back.

“Wait,” Hunter said.

“Don't touch me,” Sadie said, she pulled her hand away from Hunter.

“I'm sorry, but I need your help,” Hunter said.

“My help? Why do you believe I can help you?” Sadie said.

"Because you need money, I'm sure the salary my sister gives you is not enough for you and your grandmother, and you don't want to just eat eggs and sausages every night, right?" Hunter said.

"What do you mean by that?" Sadie said.

“You just need to help me out of trouble and I'll help you financially,” Hunter said.

"No, I don't know you and from the start, I didn't like you, I also didn't intend to help you even if I could, I need money but working in a flower shop is more than enough for me," Sadie decided to go back to her room but her steps stopped.

"Are you sure? If all that is enough why do you still give eggs and sausages for your grandmother's dinner? Is that enough for her? She even only asked me for pizza because she knew you couldn't buy it—"

"Enough! What do you want from me!" Sadie turned to face him with an annoyed face.

"Marry me," Hunter said and Sadie was left speechless, she ran out of words and everything in her head suddenly disappeared.
