Chapter 602

A gentle breeze blew, bringing some coolness. However, their dread stemmed from their unfamiliarity with the mountains.

Margot breathed a sigh of relief when they noticed a beam of light approaching from a distance. It was a familiar figure.

But before she could speak, his deep voice sounded, "Let's go. I'll escort you down the mountain."

Margot was puzzled when she saw only Curtis come. "Why are you alone? Where's Calvin?"

"He's busy and can't come," he replied.

He gestured toward the two women in front of him. "Let's go."

Natalie stood still. Margot didn't move either. She said, "We've come all this way. We should at least see each other, right?"

Curtis' cold attitude toward her was one thing. But why didn't Calvin come to see Natalie?

He liked her so much. Wouldn't he miss her after being away from her for over ten days? Didn't they realize that she and Natalie had climbed the mountain for two hours, exhausted and thirsty, just to see them as soon as possible?
