James had completely forgotten that Esmeralda was in his house. He arrived at work late and was full of problems to solve.

One of the hotels he was responsible for building was about to go under contract with another firm, so he was in trouble. After four grueling meetings, a disastrous staff meeting, and several phone calls to his partners, he was ready to have a relaxing evening. Maybe have a glass of champagne or a glass of whiskey. The night was warm, so maybe he'd go into the pool or hot tub.

And he could always go after Samantha, his fiancée. She liked to receive it. They could go to a restaurant and then spend the night together. But Samantha was so focused on the wedding that instead of relaxing he would fill his head with more problems.

Yeah, the best thing would be to go home.

He arrived and parked the car, as he always did, and entered through the garage.
